That's right, I said it, @arrowvideo hit a home run with Friday the 13th 2009! Just the first of my weekly "Chase's physical media picks" where I will go over the latest releases that I consider "Must-Buy" or "Must Pre-Order" and I will talk about why! So pop that tape in, I got you, let's go do this!
thank you so much! glad you enjoyed it! I had fun with this one, I really do like this movie overall! Im looking forward to seein git in 4k, I know you'll enjoy it too!
I didn’t even know this was controversial. I thought it was objectively the best one. Great opening scene. Jason was fast and intimidating and I like Jared Padalecki as the lead.
hey thank you so very much! I always just have so much fun with this movie and I encourage a difference opinion in movies and people like different things and that is great BUT I just dont understand the hate for this one!!
I'm 30 seconds in to leave this comment and already 💯 with you. I LOVE this flick and although I can nitpick some minor bullshit that I'd have done a little different, I completely am at odds with anyone over this flick who hates it. F13 2009 is Awesome. 👻
@@AVAPopCulture Just finished the vid and we both have the same main problem with it (removal of the supernatural aspect) and are both completely baffled by the dislike for the main characters. HTF can you not like Padalecki? The dude oozes unforced good-guy charisma and him and Panabaker are fantastic, smart leads. Love Righetti in this, so good, and Van Winkle is my favorite douchebag in any horror movie. Actually, the cast in this are all fantastic. Even got Ryan Hansen in here (Love me some Party Down) in a funny little role. idk man, I'll never get the hate for this flick.
@VideoGhoulash exactly! Yes yes yes on everything lol... I don't understand the hate! And it looks so good in BluRay, I feel like the 4k is going to be mind blowing!!! I cannot wait!
I agree this movie is better than others of the series. I think people tend to shit on remakes because they are made with fresh takes and different ideas than the originals they grew up watching and are nostalgic for. The "if it's not canon, it's crap" mentality.
Yeah, the "canon" argument is something I follow on a lot of things but in a series where it jumps a few hundred years in the future, in space, then comes back, and that is part of the "canon", I'm more willing to overlook what is canon and what isn't lol
I agree that Jason movie is good it's supposed to be a slasher movie that's what we got I don't know what they was expecting it's better than half the Friday the 13th movies
lol I got fired up about this one...I always hear people tell me they dont like this one and it is bad, but they never say how or why - especially in comparison to the other films
I'm right there with you buddy, I pre-ordered day one too. What more could you want from a Friday the 13th movie? Derek Mears is a force to be reckoned with as Jason , the kills are creative & awesome! and gratuitous nudity abounds. And let me tell you, if Kirsten Baker has the best a$$ in Friday the 13th part 2, then Julianna Guill has the best rack in 2009 🙌 which should look great in 4K. Peace!
Honestly what is funny I love this movie like you but also disagree in a way. So the stuff you hated is the stuff I liked. However you look at this the movie is great. Was definitely the best of the remakes and the best theater experience. I heard this release really clears up the dark scenes.
everyone has different tastes! Id be curious to know if your age is around mine or if you are 5-10 years or so younger... I've heard that same thing before and there was a big trend at the time this came out to "explain" everything for Jason, Michael Myers, etc in horror movies and take away the supernatural element and it seemed like if you were about 15-25ish years old when this came out, that part worked way better for you than if you were older...just an observation over time
For me most of the characters are annoying and I actively want them to die which I think kinda is the opposite of how you should feel in a horror movie , but ehh that's just me
well lol, Id say in most 80s slashers, the characters were always annoying fodder for the killer...I feel like this one has the 2 final girls and the lead protaganist who you can pull for...but everyone sees things differently
