I do like that the black one hides all of the black plastic and that terrible black bar across the rear. Also this dude is great in front of the camera.
@@thegarbear05 Na, a flared out CF replacement piece would be much better looking, like what the Gulia Quadrifoglio GTA has on the rear fenders, looks 👌

I just picked up a 22 WRX Limited last week. Went into the dealer to drop my wife's 22' Forester in for service (defective EyeSight Camera) and they had a Sapphire Blue one in the show room. I wasn't a fan of the design at first, but seeing it in person really changed my opinion. My wife took me back to the dealer later that day to trade in our Jetta for it. The new WRX is so much fun to drive and I feel like it's grown up a lot. Can't wait to see what mods you all release for this!
@@GrimmSpeed It honestly does! I was thoroughly surprised seeing it in person, pics don't do it justice. Oh and definitely got a good trade in which made the deal even better. I had a nice long drive in it yesterday and happy to report, it wasn't disappointing.
Ordered a 22 WRX GT as an additional daily (yeah, I know, it’s the SPT/CVT so appearance mods for the most part). So loyal to driving Subies and wanted to try the driving mode/Safety nanny’d out version for the long trips and California traffic. Love how GrimmSpeed doesn’t waste a second before trying existing parts for fit and usability.
Tell us how the GT version goes. I have the premium SPT/CVT and it's a pretty fun daily driver and in S# Manual Mode, it gets the job done, at least for me.
I finally got my World Rally Blue GT a week ago, and exactly how I ordered it back in early April, minus the Illuminated Footwell lighting and STI shift knob. Both parts are on back order with estimated delivery in late August/ early September. Both are easy to install myself when that happens. The GT is well worth the wait and price for me. It replaced a 2018 Limited CVT. I love this car! It is a comfortable daily driver that I leave in normal mode on the freeway and Sport mode off the freeway (Comfort Mode is too cushy in all aspects and puts the A/C in an economy type mode with a gentle setting that suppresses drying....smells different in a way, if that makes sense.) I'm still testing things out to find my true "individual" mode. Getting all the car, eyesight and infotainment system settings done took a while. I love the large screen, but there are certain radio settings that have been easier in my past WRX and Outbacks to set up (the Smart Favorite presets were more of a hassle for me) I know that the haters eventually will come around, as they always have with each generation change. I wasn't a fan of all the black cladding, but when you see it in person, it grows on you. Plus there are now places that will color match your wheel arches for you.....pull them off and ship them.
Mine worked for 2 weeks. At 1500 miles (just outside of break in) it went into limp mode due to a misreading a sensor. It has been in the shop for almost a month. in 4 days it meets the lemon law. They have no idea how to fix the problem and Subaru America refuses to take any action at all. 4 weeks of getting lied to and the run around. It was great fun for about 2 weeks but ever since then it has sat in the shop with nothing really being done. They elevated it to engineering and no one can figure out what is wrong. I happen to have designed combustion engines and ECUs and I believe it is a wiring harness problem. But the ECU erased itself. Since it was in limp mode I took it to one dealer that is much closer and they misdiagnosed it. Cleared the active codes so I could drive it. When they couldn't get parts for 4-6 months I decided to take it back to the dealer I got it from. They said there were no historical codes and can't find anything wrong. And again Subaru of America doesn't seem to think this issue is something to be resolved. They will not return my calls. Very disappointed. 4 weeks now in a loaner. Service manager has no idea what to do and Subaru of America wont respond to him either. Totally unprofessional and each day I am getting more mad at them.
From a marketing standpoint, Subaru is advertising the CVT model more for the new generation. Why didn’t you guys buy a CVT model for product development?
We would definitely love a GT version in the shop as well, but we'll likely be working with a local owner for product development/testing. Our space is getting pretty cramped and another full shop car (along with the 22 BRZ we have coming) is just a bit too much at the moment.
@@GrimmSpeed to be honest I’m mostly interested no tune needed parts and engine dress up at the moment. My old daily driver was a 31 year old Toyota pickup my WRX is plenty quick enough for me and I would like to maintain my warranty.
When will Grimmspeed start making their product card legal for California??? I had to get rid of literally every part I had and switch over to Cobb because of this…..just wondering.
We couldn't agree more! The white is going to serve as our marketing vehicle. Its a versatile color, and looks great on the new body style. Something new for us since most of our previous shop cars have been black.
@@GrimmSpeed thanks awesome. My first banner was from you actually from subifest in York pa. Can't wait to see what you come up with for this new gen wrx
Looking to buy a front license plate relocation kit for my 22 Wrx that’ll be here late September/early October. My question is on your site the kit is labeled as 18+ but I’m wondering if you guys have made its own shaft or if I order it will I be receiving the kit in the video with the 2 spacers. It’s between this and the Perrin one for me and trying to decide which to go with. The Perrin one does have one specifically for the 22’
GrimmSpeed : How about making a license plate kit which features an adjustable/swiveling mechanism. So that it fits to the liking of the owner and not the shop? Just an idea?
Our License plate relocation kit is already highly adjustable and able to be manipulated in a variety of different ways using the u-bracket and the selectable mounting slots. How else would you like to run your plate? I'm curious.
@@GrimmSpeed By implementing a ball/socket mechanism. For easier swiveling.. You know, like that of phone-dash mounts/mounting brackets. But if yours already features an adjustable mechanism, which works, then why reinvent the wheel.
I had some grimmspeed stuff on my 08 sti hatch. I sold it and bought an evo x. I wish you guys made evo stuff i loved the fitment and quality of the grimmspeed exhaust parts i had. Went with AMS and maperformance for everything instead
Love my drop in drycon in my '21 WRX. A little better sound and a little better throttle response. You guys do great work! I'm hopeful that the '22 can become something great, I just couldn't give up the '21 for it. The '22 definitely drives better, but stock for stock definitely felt slower and less exciting. I love the plucky, surge prone FA20.
Owned the 2021 and now a 2022. The previous generation felt like a much narrower window of power, and slower to me than the 2022. However, everyone’s butt dyno is calibrated different.
Are you guy's doing nothing with the 2022 BRZ? I have grimspeed parts on my WRX and was looking forward to seeing a CAI from you guys but looks like your all in on the WRX and the BRZ is not worth the time?
I wouldn't say the BRZ is not worth our time. But as it sits right now we are developing parts for the WRX because that is the bigger market. We have some R&D for the BRZ happening right now and will be working on some pretty exciting projects in the near future.
@@GrimmSpeed Ok good to hear, hopefully it's not too far in the future, my BRZ needs some grimspeed lol. Looking forward to seeing what you guys have coming.
Yes, 094029 is the version we have slated to fit the 22 WRX. Since you purchased thru Ebay its hard to say that you received a genuine GrimmSpeed part. Give our customer service team a call to confirm you got the right part, then i would reach out to the ebay vender to see what they can do.
One thing ive learned now that i got 400 on my new VB is that the gas door doesnt lock from 8nsidw the car.. can anyone confirm a locking gas cap brand that works. And do the current front plate re locators still fit all the same ?

@@baymaxfpv I agree the markups are way overboard like RU-vid ads these days but Toyota has true intentions on their build and the dealerships are trying to milk things. people will buy it just like when the over sold the BMW Supras that's the true sad part
Yep, I learned to never buy a base trim Subaru with my 19 wrx. I didn't want a sunroof but I'm finding myself adding things like fogs and mirror turns that came on other trims. Word of advice, never by a base trim Subaru 'Anything'. Premium and Limited only, and Limited 1st, Premium 2nd. Good luck GS with the new cars....
We definitely get that mentality, for a personal car I probably would have gone with a Limited. The base model is nice for product development and extensive modification like we plan to do on our shop car; I'm glad there's at least a choice for different trim levels (including the GT)!
@@GrimmSpeed....on the GT trim...I'm hoping it opens the door for the Levorg to come stateside. I would only consider giving up my 19 wrx base for a Levorg (or Panamera 4/4S).
Base models are designed to be modified. Not everyone wants amenaties like sunroofs. If you wanted more standard options then get a Mazda or Honda; Subaru has always been the "you get what you paid for" and nothing else.
@@artilleryisbetter...thanks; I originally looked at the BRZ limited and MX-5/miata, but I needed a more functional backseat. I couldn't find a crosstrek or Alltrack in a manual (in a 300 mile radius). I wasn't enamored w/the fwd 3 hatch (came out of a mk4 GTI)...looked at a Fit EX, Si, and Accord sport 2.0t and although nice, I wasn't in to them. Yes, I should have bought a Premium at the very least. I would have gone w/a performance pkg wrx but none were available. Finally, a base STi was off the books because of the EJ257. So, there it is, the reason for my dilemma. The wrx base is not a bad car, just lacking some items for a better daily driver experience....I will be adding fogs and mirror turns soon. 👍
I walked away so disappointed after test driving a limited yesterday. Linear power band makes the car feel so underwhelming and not sporty. The seats sit super high up, weird short throw with long shifter is an improvement from prior generation but still not ideal. Brakes are a major discussion people are glossing over, the initial bite is quite frankly mush. And then to top it off, you're looking at 43k~ with warranty OTD for a limited WRX.
Man the mic noises from holding the go pro was killing my ears. I still think these things look like total dogshit. I'm hoping once the aftermarket fixes some of the obvious issues it will be alot better to look at.
Noted. Will do better for the next video. In person the 22 is growing on us. Still needs some work though. Stick around and see if you like the direction we go in!
