If pikmin are doing the "I'm dead" animation from fire, poison, or water (the one where they flop forward and you can't call them anymore) and you enter the hole they will enter with the element still on their head. You'll save the pikmin but it's still counted as a death, so you can get up to a thousand deaths in a single cave and still have 100 pikmin in the end!
This series has been a part of my evening routine for the past three weeks. I'm gonna miss it when its all over. I loved the Pikmin games when I was a kid.
It must be absolutely terrifying to live in a world where those freed Waterwraith rollers exist. You just touch them, no matter the size, you die in the most gruesome way possible.
I've been playing Pikmin 2 Kaizo myself recently, and I feel like it would be good for you to know that when the Empress Bulblax gets stuck rolling into a wall because of terrain generation, she's still able to be killed. You just need to use purples and throw them at a range and angle at which they do their "slam" damage. You can tell you're doing it right by the signature noise that it makes (as well as their HP dropping obviously). It's not actually that slow of a process either and should only take about 2 minutes. They still get thrown backwards immediately, so be ready to call them so they don't pick a fight with her cement roller stomach. Hope this helps you out!
@@realHeff Ah oops, I didn't know you had played the entirety of it already and were just making the episodes now. Would you ever consider continuing the series where you try to play through the challenge mode? Every single one of those 'holes' got changed in major ways, and seeing as myself and others are really enjoying the Pikmin 2 Kaizo content, it could be a good place to continue if you're feeling up to the challenge. Regardless, keep up the great work and content. Can't wait to see what you plan to do next! :)
i have just discovered this series and i’m just watching them as they pop up and i love this so much. pikmin 2 was a childhood favorite and i’ve been playing all the pikmins back on switch and it’s so nice seeing others enjoy it
if i had the ability to mod deluxe, i would make an attempt, but since i'm no programmer and don't have the smarts, i can't do 3 or 1 kaizo. the reins should belong to whoever grabs and finishes it first :D
Yea I made my attempts at it but it was so much to do and I was not even close to smart in that type of stuff I can do a little bit overall not a whole lot overall my concept was to give 3 deluxe a completely new side story where caves came back and you could choose which captain to go in as but that’s where I stopped because I had no idea how to really start or improve it but overall yea thank you for replying I thought i was gonna be ignored haha
Heyo just did a stream on pikmin 2 kaizo recently too I saw your troubles here when the empress bulb lax is stuck rolling you could just use the fixed damage of purple pikmin squashing to slowly widdle her health down vs using sprays
The enemy spam in this mod honestly makes me feel it is more deserving of the title “Unfair Pikmin 2” compared to “Pikmin 2 Kaizo.” The original Kaizo, the one with Mario World, was not a constant rush of stupid stuff that’s thrown at you and says “good luck.” It’s an intricately designed set of levels meant to push your skills at the game to their absolute limit, but it’s never unfair. It’s a legitimate test of your abilities with the game that’s certainly meant to kill you, but in a way that makes you say “man, this is tough”, not “man, this is bullshit and borderline impossible.”
Hey man, I have been watching the whole series and have really enjoyed these last days. One thing I keep thinking about is that you should maybe consider just letting the situation play out instead of instantly pausing when shit goes wrong. I mean, you are going to reset many times anyways and that's fine. But then why pause and interrupt the action literally the moment it starts. I think for the sake of fun, you should let it play out and then reset. Every exciting moment leads to an instant Pause Screen :(
Hi there! Appreciate the comment. I definitely agree that there are some moments where I pause too abruptly but it's mostly due to concern of losing my white pikmin/purples/blues and risking us having to start over anyways so we don't miss treasure on later floors. After resetting over and over again for better generation and dealing with caves that could end my career in one second, it just became second nature to use the pause button!
