The Melbourne Arts Precinct Transformation Project in Southbank has reached a milestone with the arrival of two piling rigs onto the Arts Centre Melbourne site!
To celebrate this momentous occasion, we spoke with staff from Development Victoria, Arts Centre Melbourne and Lendlease to find out how they prepared the site for piling, plus what we can expect to see over the coming months while the rigs are hard at work!
Approximately 350 piles will be installed over the next 8 months as part of the foundation for Arts Centre Melbourne's expanded loading dock, new studio and rehearsal room, and function space, as well as the new deck supporting the urban garden.
