Well time to step into the next adventure.
Back in June I picked up a Pilot-RC Extra 330SC - 92″ (2.34m)

The plane has a EME 60CC gas motor and well I'm stoked to have the opportunity to go flying with it very soon.

Great looking Extra 330SC. I have a similar Extra 330SC PAU with a DA-70 and similar equipment. Reduce your low aileron rates by 10% and set your expo to 60% or so.. This thing has very sensitive ailerons. It rolls faster than you can blink your eyes. You are going to love it. It's very easy to land. It slows a lot for a three point landing. Enjoy.

Thanks for the tips! Totally will dial the rates back and up the expo. Probably have a friend who flies 3D test the plane out for me after I've taken it up myself.

Nice! It’s going to be nose heavy, I’d put those batteries further back, so you can take them out of the plane. You’ll love it. Just flying this thing will be easy, excited to see you progress in your aerobatics career :) Just shout if you need tips ;)

Looks amazing Andre! Just fly it on 60% expo and low rates the first time you will be suppriced how quick it rolls! Lovely plane! You will enjoy it! Greatings from the Netherlands

Andre, I am new to the DX9, how did you get your radio to say Choke On, Choke Off, and the same for ignition? I’ve looked through the entire custom Voice event list and can’t find it.

You are not going to like the answer 😂. I downloaded the 2 sounds, converted the .wav files and then used the Spektrum sound app (Windows only) to make an additional sound bundle for my DX9.

So using the sound generator. Gotcha. That shouldn’t be too hard. Where did you happen to get the files from? Also, I know what you mean about things being bigger in the life than in the photos. I have a 101" Rearwin Speedster w/ a DLE 30 that takes up my entire CRV to transport. That Extra is absolutely beautiful.

I can't wait to fly it. On the sound file, load all the new sounds into the new bundle. At first I did 2 and tried to add 2 more and it didn't work. So looks like Spekturm only allows 1 additional sound file. I can upload the file I used with the choke on/off and ignition on/off.

Are you running those servos on 5v?

I turned it up after studying the power board. 6V. Had to go through the whole plane to figure out what servos were being used.

Nice Plane... one of my buddies has a few of those large 3D planes. BTW... what was creating that buzzing noise when you powered up the plane electrics ?? Can't wait to see you maiden that one.

The servo’s working to keep the control surfaces in place.

Tom De Weerdt ...Once a known good servo finds it's zero feedback point it should hold that position until an outside mechanical force moves that zero position or a radio input is applied. My buddy's similar sized 3D plane does not exhibit those noises with no inputs either electrical or mechanical.

lasersbee that’s awesome. I have yet to come by a similar sized 3d plane that doesn’t make these noises. I’d love to see a tutorial on setup by your friend! It’s not a problem though, as once flying the passing air will take the load off the servo’s...

The rudder is the worst offender but I'm not worried. You won't hear that in flight ;)

#BlameAndré RC hmmm... That’s the one surface that shouldn’t feel any pressure, unless maybe the tailwheel wasn’t straight on the bench and pulling against the servo’s neutral position?
