As a child growing up Pineapple Upside -Down cake was always my Birthday cake which my mother made in a cast iron skillet. I just had my 80th Birthday and my dear friend surprised me with my favorite Birthday cake. Brought back so many many sweet memories of Birthday,'s from the past to the present. I made this for the first time for Christmas and it was so delicious, I ended up making two for my family and friends. I messed up when I took a pic of the first cake and shared it with my friends. I came up with my own pineapple upside-down pound cake a few years ago cause I made my mom a regular one and turned around and she had eaten it all and wanted me to fix her another one ... It looks wonderful. I like that you do everything from scratch. Also I was glad that you didn't discredit those of us who were taught by some from the old school. Because that's how my aunts, my mom,and I have learned. Even now many times when I try to 'go by the recipe' it doesn't go vert well. So I watch to get an idea of how to make it, without following the 'recipe' and most times it's great. Maybe it like you said my brain just doesn't work like a recipe followers works. Yaaassss! "Grandma Mae" ole skool cook! Gone wit yo bad self! I tell ppl we don't have any chefs in our family we are "COOKS"! I never saw a timer or thermometer for cooking, you just know when stuff was done and about how long stuff was supposed to cook...im only in my early 40's but i was taught ole skool and thats the only way i know or wanna know...
Hello Ms. Mae Mae. I made your cake for Thanksgiving. It didn't "act up" came out beautiful and was Delicious! My husband said it was to pretty to cut. I didn't use sugar in the sauce but boiled down the juice and brushed the side of the cake... Thank you for your lovely videos!!!

Ms Mae Mae. OMG!!!! WOW!! ❤❤❤ I am a seasoned cook and bake often but this is one of the best homemade pound cakes I have eaten!!! As they say U PUT YOUR FOOT IN IT. Only thing I did different was I used orange extract instead because I didn't have pineapple extract which brought out the flavor of the pineapple juice just as good😊
