I just appreciate the ability of the Ping rep to always pass along such great engineering details without falling into the marketing buzz words and trying to stay "flashy"
That Ping “ rep” is Marty Jertson, VP Fitting and Performance at Ping. That’s why he’s able to get into the “why” of the design rather than just regurgitating the Ping marketing info.
You have a way to make us feel like we are in the bay. The Ping rep was superb in his techno explanations, and your responses, both verbal and hitting were educational. Thank you
The Ping rep is 'The peoples club rep!" Clear concise explanation about what the product is doing with ZERO hype or a dog and pony show like the other hype mongers! I would buy this driver based on the way he reps his products so straight forward! Good on you sir for not treating the customer like an ignorant idiots.
That's why I appreciate manufacturers like Ping. They don't rush their P&D cycle, and they come out with a new product every two years after extensive research, design and testing. And, when you look at the likes of Taylormade, Callaway, and Cobra, they are bringing stuff out to the market every year. I think by waiting a little bit longer, putting the time and effort into the process, customers are just that much more highly anticipating the new releases. This G430 line looks absolutely fantastic! I cannot wait to test out the LST.
@@jongeephotography Sure. Sure. I am certainly not down-playing the R&D at those companies. I could have elaborated more. By saturating the market every year with a new product, as a consumer, I am not really thrilled/wowed/excited when their new product comes out. I am talking strictly from a consumer-perspective. With the likes of Srixon, Titleist, and Ping, the 2-year cycle allows for build up and anticipation and excitement. That's where I was really going with it.
These guys lead the race in more ways than speed. The intent feels like they want the best club for the variety of players out there. Refined across the board. The two year cycle, seems to allow them to be thorough through out the product line, instead of cashing in on purely aesthetics.
I game the G425 LST and made some weight adjustments to increase MOI and it’s a great club! I upgraded to the G430 LST and literally could not hit it!! It’s probably the most unforgiving club I’ve ever had in my hands. When they say they’ve optimized for the target player…. THEY MEAN IT!!! If you’re not a low single digit player you’ll struggle with this club!!
Before my fitting, which 2023 drivers would you recommend as a starting point for a steep, significant negative attack angle, aggressive tempo 105 club speed. You guys did a pretty good video on it few years ago and liked the taylormade twist face at the time. Thanks !
I just swapped my Stealth 2 plus for a G430 LST and so far I’m loving it the forgiveness and distance gains I’m getting with the G430 are worth the switch
@@ianfrasergolf but 120 CHS with slightly heeled strike and a little open shouldn’t drop ball speed that much yeah? Still a lot of yardage for that ball speed
I hit one in the bay it does not sound like the frying pan 425 anymore in my opinion. Sounds good to me, I played the 425 and the sound was awful and it’s a huge improvement
Since they are owned now but Club Champion - I am sure Club Champion wanted their name represented. Makes sense. What else do you do to get their name in there without completely losing the TXG?
I love my Ping G425 but I've knocked the weight off of the back 3 times. Sadly the G430 has that same weight so I won't be upgrading to that poor design.
Unfortunately, the driver is still really ugly, if the turbulators really worked they would be on all the top brand drivers in some form ,I am not a Ping hater as I just ordered a new set of i230's, luckily there are some great other choices this year with the TSr ,new Cobra and Callaway drivers.
I too was a longtime ping iron player but never played their drivers until a good buddy of mine let me try his.He always told me how easy they were to hit and he was right. I hate the turbulators too but I’ve gotten used to them. BTW you will love the i230s I recently got a set. You really should consider buying a Ping driver you might be pleasantly surprised with it.
@@Tom-ok2rh I hit the 430's the other day but was cold out here in Canada about 1C and the Max is definitely a easy to hit driver , I also hit the Cobra AeroJet and it was really nice as well , I personally liked the looks sound and feel better in the Cobra but in the spring if the numbers are better with the Ping I could hit it , the sound is still a Ping but I did find it better than the previous models , Thanks Tom !!!
@@WilliamWright-hf8ob Canada huh? I guess I shouldn’t fuss when it only gets to 45°F down here in Virginia. Good luck with your new irons and hopefully you can have an early spring to get out and play 👍👍
@@kourt2469 I really loved the G400 and G425 drivers but couldn't buy them because of them. I couldn't stand seeing them every time I looked down. Horrible lol. I really hope they get rid of them in future drivers but I doubt it.
@stephanjepards8148 maybe that's a pre requisite for being a golf company rep. I like Trottie personally but they all walk the line of likeable and punch able.
This is such a good video from the Ping rep. Instead of the other videos with brand reps where they just say “we’ve made it faster and more forgiving”, he actually explains the changes in engineering and what percentage of improvement that has made vs the last model. Ping are just different. You’ve gotta respect them.
Currently on the G410 Plus. Around 157 ball speed and 106 in Swing Speed...Spinnrate around 2700. Could I consider the new LST Ping or is it not for me?
This is a really hard video to watch/digest..You have someone making money on youtube that can't break 1.45 (max) & 1.41 (Lst) smash factor testing and fitting drivers?
Ian do you take how often you play into consideration when fitting yourself/clients? I'm playing much less since the birth of my daughter and are leaning towards some club changes to take that into consideration. Already switched out of the Srixon 745's into the Ping 525's
great video, I've watched all the driver vids now and i must say the ping seems impressive , not crazy about the looks but that is something i can get over as long as they improved on the sound . Ping rep guy wins hands down, especially after watching the taylormade rep. He was about as trash as the stealth 2 . Really disappointed with the stealth , I really had high hopes for taylormade this year.
Can’t forgive them for the colour choice. G425 looked like Darth Vader would play, awesome shelf appeal. This one looks like it’s been found in the cobra design teams reject bin.
