Man, Pink Floyd isn't just music for those of us born in the 50s, 60s or 70s. Pink Floyd is music for everyone. I'm really excited that the Pink Floyd fan community is growing with new, young people from all over the world. Any perceptive person will understand that Pink Floyd is a timeless and brilliant art. How fortunate it was to meet Syd Barrett, Roger Waters, Nick Mason and Richard Wright together and later to be joined by David Gilmour. Without him there would not have been such amazing works as Astronomy Domine, Fat Old Sun, Echoes, Us and Them, Time, Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Wish You Were Here, Dogs, Hey You, Comfortably Numb, On the Turning Away, Coming Back to Life, High Hopes and others and others. The world would be a much poorer and sadder place.

I was there that night (and one of the other Earls Court gigs) and believe me when I tell you I've never seen anything to touch the Floyd live. You can't tell from watching the video just how loud it was. The quadrophonic sound system blasted at you from every direction but every single note was clear as a bell. Put that together with the light show which, again, was so much brighter and more intense than you can see from the videos, and reality just cracked open. You were free falling through space with only the music holding you up. You couldn't think or feel anything except what the Floyd wanted you to think and and feel. I've said this before but, after the gig, the crowd was so silent, it was eerie. I remember standing on a packed tube platform waiting for a train and everyone was just stunned, looking at each other with a "WTF just happened?" look in their eyes. It truly was a religious experience. No-one has ever come close to what the Floyd achieved on that tour and I honestly don't think anyone ever will.

The first time I ever heard Pink Floyd was at a planetarium when I was in 9th grade. The bus to pick us up was late so the guy there said we could listen to a song and he picked Comfortably Numb. My 14 year old brain was a puddle of goo by the end. I have absolutely loved Floyd ever since. I know it doesn't compare at all to being there live, but similarly, during the song, I felt like I was like in space or out of my body. It was so crazy.

Pink Floyd is Legendary, they are a Vibe all their own. I've been a huge Pink Floyd fan since 1973 when they released their iconic "Dark Side Of The Moon" album. I saw them live in 1980 when they were doing The Wall world tour, very difficult getting tickets for that concert as they were only performing 12 shows in the US in 1980. The Wall was an incredible composition, it was a concert, a play, a Rock Opera and a movie. A phenomenal entity. Pink Floyd was formed in London in 1964, they performed as a band until 2006, 42 years. They have sold over 400 million albums worldwide, more than any other Rock band in history, except for The Beatles, (over 600 million). They have a large catalog of incredible music and a massive, ginormous fan base. At this 1994 concert, only 3 of the 10 musicians onstage are members of Pink Floyd, they're the 3 old guys, lol. David Gilmour, (guitar, vocals), Rick Wright, (keyboards, vocals), and Nick Mason, (drums, percussion), he's the drummer playing the traditional drum set.

I've seen Pink Floyd four times in three different decades. Once in 74 for their ,Dark Side of the Moon" tour. In 1977 for there "In The Flesh" tour. In 1987 for their "Momentary Lapse of Reason" tour. Additionally, the 1994 "Pulse" tour! Every one of those four concerts were a once-in-a-lifetime concert!! I say this having seen at least a hundred concerts from AC DC to Led Zeppelin and everyone in between alphabetically you could probably think of! Some Unforgettable music in some of those other concerts but every one of the Pink Floyd concerts were mind-boggling and better than anything I've ever seen! With Pink Floyd music you have a nearly bottomless rabbit-hole ahead of you so enjoy! I have enjoyed your reviews so far, keep up the good work!

It the time of this concert, Pink Floyd had been big for more than 20 years, and people at the time (like me, who just started high school) looked back at what they did in the 70's. Or, at least, we listen to albums like The Dark Side of the Moon, which came out in 72, and enjoying it much more than the pop music of the 90's . At the time, I knew that Pink Floyd would continue to amaze new listeners for much longer than 50 years into the future. I would like to suggest that you listen to a full album (for example The Dark Side of the Moon) and record your reaction. You should read up a bit on the history about it, and what the album is about, before diving in. The album is not just a collection of songs, it is a story being told from start to end, and you should experience it accordingly.

Nice reaction dude, a truly great band, and an amazing performance. Though their stage shows were legendary it's worth noting that Pink Floyd were best known for their totally unique and impeccably played and produced studio work. If you're keen the hear some of the best and most innovative rock music ever created, music that paved the way and set new standards, you could try their seminal 1973 ialbum Dark Side Of The Moon, but you should do the studio cut before the live stuff, just a suggestion, hard to go wrong with these guys. Peace.

One of the best reactions to pink Floyd, thank you. I have seen them live . "what was it like " Musically it was a insane , nothing even comes close today. I paid $20 for my seat back then, sat down and pink Floyd just took me away to another Place , another Time (their world, their place, their time ) It was like I stopped , and we were all taken there . A very surreal feeling . Still feel it today when I listen to them .What a journey floyd has taken us on ! 1964 to today and their music will out live me by far, and I am 62 . When I die I would love to go to , their world , their place , their time one more time .

one of my favorites by PF, they've spanned decades, and their music seems timeless no matter the age. David playing with that feedback and owns it is very cool. OK, for me I've always loved PF growing up, but as a younger guy didn't really truly know what they were about. And to listen and watch them now as a 61 yr old, seeing they are just regular guys that literally excel in everything they do including the engineering and production is totally awe...and then to even watch David do a concert in 2016 being 71/72 years old and still killing this same song is so cool.

The whole Pulse Concert is so much fun to watch! Seeing David get the sounds out of a guitar like in this song is not easy. No matter where you are in the crowd you are in the show because they have lights and effects throughout the arenas. They used lights that are so geometrically complex are so much to watch on there own. Excellent reaction. I'm subscribing!

I saw them on this tour at the Silverdome in Detroit, 7/15/94. Pink Floyd was always known for their stage show but this concert was even more than I expected. The crowd was very chill, maybe because a lot of them were smoking weed in the parking lot before the show... You notice the audience is very still during their performance. I think that's because everyone was in awe of what they were seeing.

I met David Gilmour in 1984 back stage at a concert in Hollywood Calif. He gave me a signed album that I have in my music room. We talked for 22 minutes. I called him…“The Master Of The Stratocaster” He smiled. I asked if I could shake both his hands that make such great guitar solos, he smiled bigger and said “Sure” and shook both hands at the same time, making a cross between us, I smiled HUGE. I asked him to describe his technique of playing guitar, he replied… “I strike a note, bend it, shake it and then release it”…. Yes, he does that quite well, better than any other guitarist I know. ,

This is a stellar benchmark production and performance! Gilmour up there performing on stage in a pair of jeans and plain T-shirt. A glaring example that (plainly) exhibits the benefits of talent and musical ability over image and bling. A band who's album stayed on the top charts for well over 900 weeks! Thats some shelf life right there. Great reaction!

David Gilmour can play a single note and have it sound sublime and grandiose; this is his greatest skill!! As far as vocals... he does exactly what the song needs; nothing more nor less!! Overall? It's never been about how phenomenal he is... it's been ALL about how tastefully he uses his voice, guitar effects, string bending techniques, finesse and style!! Is he the greatest guitarist ever? No. He however takes you on a journey with him, the song and his guitar!! Pink Floyd & Gilmour are The G.O.A.T. Pink Floyd was formed in 1965... their (most likely) last album was "The Endless River" in 2014. PF had 15 studio albums... 3 live albums, 9 compilation albums not to mention multiple live dvds and solo albums performed by below members of the band. Syd Barrett (short-lived founder; guitar plus) the originator and quirky eccentric; inevitably the consequential muse. * January 6, 1946 (rip 2006) Roger Waters (bass) was the cultivator (seed sower), the lyrically conceptual prodigy, secondary vocal and co-maestro of songwriting * September 6, 1943 (age 78 years) David Gilmour (guitar) was the placidity, guitar virtuoso, the silky smooth voice and co-maestro; the equilibrium. * March 6, 1946 (age 75 years) Richard Wright (keyboards) was the essential underlying symmetry; musical nurturer. Occasional singer. * July 28, 1943 (rip 2008) Nick Mason (drums) was the heartbeat, structure and foundation; the sole member involved from the emergence of PF to the last recording. * January 27, 1944 (age 77 years) FYI: The following Pink Floyd albums are Concept Albums (all songs together tell a complete story)... Dark Side Of The Moon (1973), Wish You Were Here (1975), Animals (1977) and The Wall (1979). The Final Cut (1983) is ify, as it was the last album with Roger Waters being in the band - leaving in 1985. *search on Wiki the album title to get the story behind the concept. I myself suggest the following EPIC 10 live songs; the studio and "Brit Floyd" versions are phenomenal as well!! : 1) "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" 2) "Hey You" 3) "Us and Them/Any Colour You Like/Brain Damage/Eclipse" (all 4 parts) 4) "High Hopes" 5) "Time/Breathe Reprise" 6) "Dogs" 7) "Sorrow" 8) "Pigs (3 different ones)" 9) "Welcome To The Machine" 10) "The Great Gig In The Sky" 11+) There's so many... !! Fun Fact: "You don't need drugs to enjoy Pink Floyd but you definitely need Pink Floyd to enjoy your drink and drugs!!" If you like Pink Floyd as much as it seems, sadly there is only ONE WAY you're going to see their music "live" in concert (2021+) other than an older dvd (or maybe Waters or Gilmour solo in concert; they're getting old my friend)... more importantly hearing the songs done exacting to the studio albums adding a very good example of the "live" light show... you may wanna check out the following group that's IMO far better than a tribute band!! The subsequent track is superbly performed by the tribute band "Brit Floyd" ~ Gilmour, Mason and Wright have said, "If they themselves wanted to see PF live, the only way that could ever happen is go see these guys." ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RnHu3D8stGE.html (one song from an entire 155 minute concert of PF Bliss; see comment at link for other tracks) Final Note: Pink Floyd have left us the embodiment of their musical journey to share, enjoy and reflect upon. * always listen to Pink Floyd with headphones or an awesome sounding music system. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pink_Floyd = = = == === = ====== = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Roger Waters (Bassist; left PF in 1985) and Friends did a live concert of the entire "Wall" double album in Germany (1990) right after the wall came down; very historic!! The stage was at least a block or more long... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ohrFzuuUyi0.html Here is the Wikipedia explanation of that concert: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Wall_%E2%80%93_Live_in_Berlin

The band is named after two older black blues musicians from North Carolina, PINK Anderson and FLOYD Council. The bands founder, Syd Barrett heard one of their albums in the late 60s' and thought, "THAT is what I want my band to be!" Of course, they became so much more than that! They became a unique band like no other! They became their own genre'! No other group like them, no one to compare them to! They are the cerebral band of rock!

I saw this same show in N.Y. 1994. The concert brochure said the stage is 120 feet wide. It takes a crew of 60 technicians three days to set up the entire lights and all. The concert schedule required that there had to be three entire crews to keep up. They leap froged each other for 92 shows with 20 Trucks per crew and a total staff of 195. The tour cost the promoters $98.MILLION to put on, but the total profit was $260 MILLION… I have seen Pink Floyd 4 times. Nick Mason’s drumming is incredible and matches Gilmour’s guitar emotions while Richard Wright takes us on a Magic Carpet Ride of tones that form the foundation of it all.

Yeap they are at a pink floyd level. Everything they do is deliberate they care for the music. They make music for themselves which is a good thing because they are mind numbing perfectionists. So when the listener hears and sees it they know that what they hear and see is what the band wants them to hear and see and feel.

Pink Floyd's Pulse concert was the musical equivalent of Secretariat at the Belmont. You are in awe as it unfolds. At all times you are aware you are absolutely experiencing the GOAT. Any person interested in set and setting for a psychedelic experience should consider the transcendent openness this music provokes. I saw this show live twice (Boston 5/20/94 and Montreal 5/22/94) and at all times I knew it was like being there for Mozart 200+ years before. Easily the greatest musicians of the last century.

I attended the tour before Pulse and Pulse several nights. This was a very special production for you and all of us captured in glorious 4K now. One memory I have during this song was every head I saw far and wide was bobbing back and forth in rhythm together. It's was an experience. The ultimate PF adventure for me was the outdoor Oakland show in 90's standing in the field while it was raining. These reactions are great to expose so much great music from many eras.

Very nice comment indeed! I'm old and lucky enough to have gone through this golden era. I was even in Hyde Park in 1970 when Gilmour had the same length of hair as I and most of the others had back then...we thought this would last forever. Now we're all grey, some have lost their hair, some have gotten a bit "large" around the waist....and some are not with us anymore. But their music will live on. To prove how good he was at even a later age, I suggest you look up on RU-vid "David Gilmour - Comfortably Numb 2015 Live in South America"...Many of the parents of the kids singing weren't around when this song came out. But they they knew all the lyrics.

I vividly remember back in the 70's buying the Dark Side of the Moon LP at the record store in the mall. I remember the checkout guy just smiling at me and saying, "you're going freak out with this one". He was right. So many great PF songs for you to explore. While you're on the Pulse Concert, I recommend "One of These Days", you can tell the guys are really enjoying themselves on that one. Have fun, "you're going to freak out" with Pink Floyd.

"Sorrow" is a Floyd classic - buying Momentary Lapse of Reason was worth it just for that song, never mind the other pretty good songs on the album.

You've totally been to this concert just by adding your unique and special vibration to what is Pink Floyd and loving it the way that I can see you do. I highly recommend The Great Gig in the Sky from this same concert. It'll pierce your soul. 🖖

Saw them on this tour. First time seeing them was in '88. My boss had already seen them before and.told me everything to expect. I was like 'no, don't tell me.I want to be surprised '. But you know what...it made no difference, I was still blown away! Mind blowing. Mind bending. Like being high on acid, but without the acid

Saw this tour in Montreal... best concert I ever been to! I raved about the show so much that when the double Live album was coming out on CD, my friend (who worked at a record store in the same mall I worked at) brought it to me the day before it was officially released and said I could come in and pay for it the next day because it wasn't in her inventory system yet! Now THAT'S a real friend! ;-]

Pink Floyd toured extensively. This tour lasted for almost 2 years, and the previous one even longer. I saw them live on this tour. I was 20 and already a fan and the experience is seared in my brain. Also, keep in mind they had been doing this since the late 60s so... yeah... the stuff of Legends.

This always sounds to me like a slice of Wish You Were Here floated out 12 years. Super evocative tune.

Their music is like a drug in itself but back in the day (I'm 60) this was the music to trip to. All you really need though is a good set of headphones and a love for great music!

they are a trip, Pink Floyd didn't do songs, they did journeys. I went to an alternate regality for a bit and came back loving life more than before, my stress gone. This band pulls me in and has since my first listen of 'Echoes' then I was hooked, guess I still am.

David gilmore replaced syd barret, but the late greatrichard wright on keyboards and nick mason on drums, basicaly this is the original line up of pink floyd, roger waters had an acrimnious split with the band, but david gilmore fought for the rights to the band name pink floyd in the high courts of england and won, they were flat broke, but dave gilmore catapulted them to stardom. and got the pink floyd brand name into the upper echelons of rock n roll royalty, the rest is history.

its one of the best concerts/performances one song after another that ive ever witnessed. They are at a different level, they all love what they are doing and got it going on together, including the off screen engineers, techs, and mixing crews...

I first heard Pink Floyd way back in the early 70s when I was young weed smokin' teenager. I loved the guitar rock of that whole era, but this was on a whole new level...deep themes and the music was trippy as F !! David Gilmour is the whole reason that I bought a Fender Stratocaster and taught myself how to play it. It still sits beside my couch to this day.
