I've got lots of complaints about this song being unoriginal (higher pitch/key) My mistake, I chose the wrong video on YT. I'm clearly sorry about it. Thank you❤
You should do it again with the song in the right key ! It's a completely different feeling.. At least listen to it in the right key I promise you won't regret it
Listen to the original vinyl: m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vaMn20oJ4Bc.html ... and you will understand for yourself that the remastered version in 2011 has nothing wrong! About those who exhibit their thoughts on the net this is an aphorism of the writer and semiotic teacher Umberto Eco (author of the famous book "The Name of the Rose"):

I loved your reaction. Can I request, a song I've never seen anyone react to? Its called Haunted, the artist is POE. She is way too underrated. Anything from that album same title would be awesome. BTW your tears brought back mine.. 😢 never apologize for being you
Exactly! You get it! The only thing I could do to even get close to that feeling again was to purchase the Endless River CD when it came out and not open it. I waited two years. And then finally broke the seal. The reason being was because with the passing of Richard Wright this was it. Once I listen to this album, it's all over . No more. Hope you enjoyed the ride. So I had two years of anticipation when I finally got to listen to that CD. It was worth it
I was around 20 when I first heard this song. That was....67-20= 47 years ago. Had to buy a second record since we wore the first one out. We used to blast this album!!!
And people insist that Comfortably Numb’s solo is the best Guilmour. The solo from Time expresses exctly the spirit of the song. He makes the guitar sound like a desperate person questioning life. His guitar scream, yells, weeps but is so transcedental at the same time. Comfortably Numb is just Guimour showing off . It’s not bad, but on Time he played with all his heart and soul
You may call it "depressing", but you got the message, on point. Your last 2 minutes of talking, summed it up wonderfully. I highly recommend the whole album. Yes, you'll have to do it in parts for RU-vid, but... in your private time listen to the whole thing, front to back, as it was made to be listened to. Thank you for the excellent reaction.
@SaltyDad Ironic. The most pathetic people are those who are rude and demeaning without any cause at all. Shows an inner emptiness and lack of meaning is being projected out on others because you don't know how to cope with it yourself. Even more true for "trolls."
@thewheel73 you are right, your thoughts are exactly what I though on watching this reaction video. @Empress Joy-Jean you caught the meaning and understood it on your first listen, congratulations. A lot of my acquaintances still don't understand the meaning after years of hearing the song - I guess they don't listen like you do.
Don't be ashamed of your tears. This is the best, most honest and truest text I have ever heard! I know this song for over 40 years but understand it today first (because of REAL listening to) - and I'm 62 now... YOU have all the time from now on... I by myself wasted a lot of...
Just turned 73 the other day, so I can relate to this song. Where did the TIME go? It fleets by so quickly that suddenly you are 73 and reflect on your past and all that you have done wrong and wish you could go back to those days and change what you should or should not have done. But I can't!! Time meant nothing to me back then but it sure does now. Think about it! Young people, the older you get the faster the time goes, so use your present time carefully and with thought of everything you do.
A beautiful masterpiece yes....it is certainly not a simple pop song for fun. It really makes us think and feel. Joy Jean, thank you....you are honest and real.
every complaint means someone somewhere has listened and watched and the essence of the song has touched you and that is what music is all about. thank you
I still remember this song after so many years! Hardrock found me in 1968 with Deep Purple and Janis Joplin! Thanks for playing this miss Joy -Jean!:) Regards from Sweden!
This is one of my favorite songs from the dark side of the moon album. It's very poignant. People who do not understand this song do not value or are unaware of the time they have, those that do feel for this song have in someway missed out on something or regret that they missed an opportunity, or empathize with those that have lost that opportunity. A with that said, I have to say you have a caring ❤️, and are a beautiful person.
Was lucky enough to be 15 when Dark Side came out, as Pink Floyd fan in the Northen Soul era you were pretty much alone. It talked to a 15 year old. 47 years later that voice is more potent than ever..........Floyd and this work has such power.
MANY years ago in the 70's after night shift at a foundry in Geelong Australia, I had my first LSD ' Californian Sunshine ' and that was my introduction to Pink FLOYD, This was the LP, always good to rehear Floyd, plenty good memories This music never gets old.
I was there, Atlanta The Omni Colisium, 1977, Front Stage in front of David Gilmour. Saw Led Zeppelin 3 days later. Same place, Wow, The world will never have that era again.
I really love how you react so emotionally to music. I have heard this song countless times, but it was not until recently that I really began listening to Pink Floyd. This was the first time I have actually seen the words and understood the meaning. It is truly a beautiful song!!!
anytime your waiting for something your not listening to the music. make it a POINT to Listen in the moment.. just like must make it a POINT to live in the moment
Hy Empress I don’t know how old are you but, good to see that your generation have the same reaction than mine.I’m 72 and every time I hear this song it hits me like it did in 1973. I think you are the same age now than I was when these LP came out you are just as beautiful than this song!!! Peace.
Joy, as you grow old.. as I hope that you will.. this song will have much more meaning. It’s about the life clock, very limited, that all of us must eventually face.
j'aime votre réaction vous avez ressenti et la musique et les paroles un morceau qui pour moi est un chef-d'oeuvre que j'écoute depuis 40 ans bise de France
I've always loved this song since I was in my teens now that I'm in my 30s it hits hard "Time/life waits for no one".. well said 👏👏😍 You should react to shine on you crazy diamond or. Dogs
i always say: dont spend your money on things. spend it on experiences. this way the years start to slow down. with everything still new to you, time slows down. especially when you're older. fill the time you have. time filled with experiences feels more profound and doesnt get bogged down in daily routine. routine is what kills time, makes it feel less and short and fleeting.
You should try to listen The Great Gig in the Sky;)
The meaning of the song is that life is always happening. Not some future you plan for. Not depressing. The time you took to listen to the message will save you time down the road.
Well, I am half-way through this one and I had to stop and post this: You are absolutely gorgeous!!! Ok, back to the tune............................. :)
You get it. Keep going down the Pink Floyd rabbit hole. There is soooooo much great music out there. You are young, don't waste your time. Listen to Eyes of the World by the Grateful Dead off their Without a Net album. 16 minutes of sheer bliss.
Beautiful reaction, Joy Jean! But let me tell you my relation to this song: I'm 56 yrs old now and bought the LP at the end of the 70s. I'm german and did not care about the lyrics at all back then, i only knew that the music is beautiful. 5 years ago i stumbled upon a lyric video of this and then i realised step by step what the lyrics are all about. This hit like a hammer, cause it's the perfect description what went wrong in my life. Lots of tears every time hearing this now and realising that there are too many things i can't repair anymore.
The album is about the things that drove their leader, Syd Barrett, crazy. It's a whole package. Later they made an album, The Wall, that was more directly about Syd. I saw the Wall movie, do not watch it if you don't like depressing! Pink Floyd plays the notes +and+ the spaces between and on the heart and soul. Their music changed by stages. The Dark Side of the Moon is kind of their 3rd stage. Try the Nice Pair album for the most abstract songs like The Narrow Way that drive most people crazy... but not every one.
First heard this in my 20's when it was first released, it inspired me to make a painting based on it while I was at Art College. You would hope age brings wisdom but decades on and I have so many regrets that I haven't taken these lyrics and really learnt from them even now.
I'm 51 years old now, I was twenty years old twenty days ago. For every year there is a faster gear. Until you achieve lightspeed baby. Then the Simulation is complete. Hold on tight. With a smile of course.
One of the greatest bands ever and greatest experiences you’ll ever have if seen in concert. David Gilmore is just amazing. Close you eyes and sit back, listen and let your emotions take you on a ride.
I realy enjoyed the reaction. The song is about one of the deepest and relatable subjects their is. Also....you are particularly beautiful on this video. Sorry, had to say that. :D
You are so special. Your reaction was exactly what David Gilmore meant to elicit. Your tears give the song soul and spirit. Just want to give you a BIG hug.
