i had two PL-430 and the one with direct drive quartz that doesn´t have stroboscope ,it doesn´t need one ,the arm is very good to today standarts, this pl-7 is the direct drive quartz or the best there was in this series ,allthough mine are black they were released in 83 and they had very good sound with a AT95 cartridge from original it comes with it,it´s only a pitty they doesn´t work for long with heavy use but i have other 27 turntables and don´t use it that much
well it´s better than any Pro-Ject at least till 14.000€ or Rega, for 100€,at least that´s what i paid for mine, you wish you had one of this ,the tone arm it´s made from a real good material not from sport cars material just to show off when they sound really crappy
the one i´m using now from 76 can repeat the side till 6 times and had a linear tracking sharp or optonica that read the both sides of the record ,when coming to the end goes underneath and reads the B side if you´re listening to the A side and also as repeat but like this only once ,this were features of the 80´s ,early. by the way ,nice receivers none of those expensive amplifiersnhave half the dynamics and sound quality of this
