Beautiful receiver you have there. I also have one and I'm fortunate to have one in excellent shape just like yours. Mine looks just like the day it was unboxed for the very first time. It is flawless and I'm so lucky to have it. My speakers are vintage too. I'm still using the Avid 102's that I purchased new from Lechmere back in '74. They have rubber surrounds so they're holding up very well and the crossovers are still perfect too. You just can't beat vintage gear; they made some great high quality stuff back then. Enjoy your gear; you've got a real gem there too.

Always loved the silver faced stereo receivers and component systems. Wish they would Return back to the silver faced stereo component systems instead of the black ones being used today.

This was the receiver I wanted back in 1979 when I was stepping up to more power. Pioneer had the SX-880 out then and IMHO there's no comparison to the SX-850. Just look at the face plate controls. I got a Hitachi SR-804 on 8-28-1979 for $360 and still use it today with my Ohm model L and EPI-180 speakers. That's over 38 years. Still, I admire the old SX-850, a classy component. I believe Heco built some fine speaker systems in the 1970's/80's.Very nice setup JP.

Bought mine from a friend last year. Amazing sound. Looks like new inside and outside. Only got the wooden right panel a little chipped in the back corner. The are wort so much money nowadays because its not made of plastic and cheap ass parts. Love mine.

Waanzinnig mooie receiver. Heb zelf een SX 5560 in mijn bezit. Schitterende receivers heeft Pioneer in die tijd gemaakt!

Those were gone when l bought my SX-880. I just sold the 880 in April 2021 along with my SX-650.

Like a sculpture. Some are complaining about the prices these are going for now. I have a super clean sx 950 someone is going to have to pay to get it because I really don't want to sell.
