These beans are sweet, smoky and meaty. They are hearty and the perfect side and compliment for any backyard BBQ. This recipe is one my buddy Michael Letchworth, partner at Sam Jones BBQ, cooks at our annual Memorial Day Whole Hog party. He has been cooking this with Sam's family since his days at the legendary Skylight Inn.

Matt you’ve inspired me. I’m 22, never barbecued anything and my family only knows how to burn steak over charcoal; but I’m about to pull the trigger on a pellet smoker and can’t wait to go on a journey through your recipes.

You won't be disappointed brother. Start with his last pulled pork recipe. It was the best butt I've ever made. BBQ is a fun way to learn to cook a huge amount of amazing tasting food, for not much money.
@stryker0ae
@stryker0ae Год назад
The one thing you'll want tho is a BBQ thermometer. He uses a MEATER here, but there are much less expensive options. Or depending on the smoker it might have built in probes. But you'll want something you can check the temperature of the cook without continuously opening the lid.

You’ll love it. I got started a few years ago because of this channel. Matt makes things easy for beginners to understand and it makes us look good at cookouts. Make sure to read your instructions and clean your grill regularly to not have fires or blow ups

If you're going to use a pellet smoker I'd say you still haven't BBQ'd anything in your life.
@stryker0ae

@@crunch9362 bet you 50 bucks you couldn't tell the difference in a taste test. Even big names like Kosmos Q use a pellet smoker and recommend them for beginners. Just like cosmo says, "burning wood is burning wood. People say you have to run a stick burner for real BBQ, but pellets are just little tiny sticks. Same wood, same flavor."

Something about hearing the train horn in the background when you pulled the beans off the pit .....gave it such a small town vibe. I love it! Weather, it's a pickup truck passing by with loud pipes, a train passing in the distance, or a gust of Texas wind. That's what keeps your videos so relatable to your audience...the realness. I'm always excited to see your videos, keep em coming.

New proud owner of a Treager780 grill. Thank you and your crew for making it easy and understandable for beginners like me to cook with more confidence and to enjoy the experience. Tried your short beef ribs recipes few weeks back, this was my first time on a smoker grill. IT was a huge hit,i have repeated that same recipe three more times and it just gets better. I have a nice selection of your rubs,my kids and wife now have no problem finding me gifts for fathers day christmas etc.This July 1 I will bring the sweet bean recipe and the pull pork recipe to the party, I will follow up with you on how it was received. (with the bone) Y[all be safe . Thanks again .

Sir may I just spend a moment giving you some compliments? I watch a crazy amount of RU-vid. Some of these people get so full of themselves that they are nauseating to watch. They let a little success go to there heads. It’s horrible to watch someone turn into a self loving fool. Why do I give you sir my highest rating? Because you are genuine. You are humble. You provide valuable information. You don’t try to act cute. You know your stuff. You don’t use vulgar language like many do. You make me want to watch more of your videos because there is nothing bad about them. I surely wish more RU-vidrs were like you. I really mean that. Please don’t change. Don’t get a big head. Just stay a nice guy working to help others learn the art of cooking. I will subscribe to you because you are worth it. Congratulations on being excellent at what you do. Please keep it up. Bravo!

I switched over from Qstoves to Asmoke and it's been a game changer! The precision in temperature control offered by Asmoke's digital controller is a real upgrade, allowing me to perfectly roast my pit beans every time and make them the star of my BBQ. The flavor variety from different wood pellets has also been an exciting exploration. The convenience factor is another big bonus. With Asmoke, I can easily monitor and adjust the grill's temperature remotely via the app, while spending time with my guests. The compact and smart design of the grill has made it my go-to for outings. Being battery powered, it's perfect for tailgating and camping trips. It's not just a grill, it's an experience. #Asmoke.

Made this last night, I did a 50/50 mix of ground beef & diced spicy hot links ( that I smoked two hours prior ) I added a very small amount of BBQ sauce to cut back on the sweetness & finished it off on my weber for two hours at 225* using post oak over B&B briquettes. We served this up as our main dish & we were not mad at it!
