Im not a milwaukee fan and youre an fucking moron who cant read....I clearly said 2015. I mean it makes sense being a Pirates fan and all lmfao Let me guess, Penguins fan since '16 as well?
even thought the pirates have lost for 20 years, the fans still come to most of the games and still have a great time and show their support, you gotta love it
I'm a Reds fan and I was proud of you guys. It sucks that we lost, but at least it was to you and not the damn Cardinals. Lol. Most of my family are Pirates fans, so I have to admit that even I was a little touched by this moment.
I’m proud to say my son and I were there! It was amazingly loud!! No one ever sat down the entire game. Please Mr. Nutting. Sell the Pirates to a baseball man.
Any other pirates fans watching this in 2024? I was watching the Pirates Vs Mets 07/05/24 (The 7-home run game) and the crowd reminded me of this.... had to come watch. If Nutting can spend a few bucks before the trade deadline, we have a real shot at making it back to this.
This game was amazing. I was at it too with my dad when I was little and I even knew then this would be one of the greatest events I will see in my lifetime.
One of my greatest regrets is not having bought a ticket to this game . Such an iconic Pittsburgh sports moment , even if it was only a wild card game. Meant so much to all the fans in this city
I'm a Reds fan, but I love seeing this passion from the Pirates fans. Just like us in recent years, they don't have a lot to cheer about in the Steel City with their baseball team. So I was legitimately happy for them, even though we lost. My brother is a huge Pirates fan, as was my late uncle who passed away in 2016. So naturally after this I wanted the Pirates to do well.
Hey man thanks. Your absolutely right: ain't much to be excited about in terms of Bucs baseball. Sht I'd argue at this point that extends to much of the city even outside of baseball. Thanks for being such a good sport and best of luck to your Reds this year. 👊
I'm watching the 2018 A's at NYY wildcard playoff game on tv right now with a few friends and the topic came up - does home field advantage really impact the players or play a part in determining the outcome? I immediately thought of this playoff game & showed them the clip. After watching this clip we all unanimously shared the same opinion & agreed that it does. I am a Reds fan & they've caused me to suffer an enormous amount of pain & mental anguish over the years. Any trash talk or negative comment/put down you can think of - I've already heard it. What makes it even worse is that it's usually the truth & I just have to sit there and take it. They haven't provided any ammunition for their fans to use in rebuttal since the Eric Davis, Jose Rijo, & Chris Sabo led World Series champion Reds of 1990. We did have a couple of brief postseason appearances in 1995 (ATL) & 2003 (Philadelphia). The 1995 playoffs (in true reds fashion, we beat LAD in the NLDS allowing us to become overly optimistic about our chances, only to have our hearts broken after getting steam rolled & swept 4-0 by ATL. Not to mention the ass whopping the Phillies gave us in 2003. Just to make that series even more memorable, we were on the wrong end of a masterpiece, a no-no beautifully thrown by Halladay (RIP-Roy Halladay). I thought this year was different, I thought we had a legitimate chance at making a deep playoff run. Even now, I think CIN was a better OVR team than Pittsburgh, but the Pittsburgh faithful brought their A game to the ballpark that night. Going into that game, I was pretty confident in our chances of winning. After Cueto went to the mound, after the 1st 2 pitches I realized we would be lucky if we weren't mercy ruled after 5 innings lol. It was one of the most amazing moments I've ever witnessed in all of sports. The crowd was so amazing, I don't understand why more fan bases don't try to replicate this & do it to opposing teams, especially in postseason games. I'll forever offer a tip of my cap to the city of Pittsburgh & the intensity the fans brought to that game. It was just that little bit extra that team needed to help then advance. It's just another chapter in the long history of suffering that comes along with being a Reds fan, but it was memorable. If anyone ever tries convincing you that the players aren't effected by the fans in attendance or that the home field field doesn't have an impact on the outcome of the game, just show them this video. Who knows, if we ever have another win or go home playoff (however unlikely) appearance with Pittsburgh at Great American Ball Park, maybe we can return the favor. This really was an unbelievable moment & every Pittsburgh fan that was in attendance should forever be proud to be a part of it.
You have no idea. This moment right here was exercising 20 years of no playoff demons and just sending them back to where they came from. Fuckin beautiful 💯
Hands down, that was the sickest thing I had ever witnessed live at ANY Pittsburgh sporting event...a night to remember, and the likes of which will never be seen again...
After watching the ol Buccos get 1-hit last night by MIL in the midst of a global pandemic, I came back here to relive the best sporting moment I ever witnessed in person at the ballpark. I could put the "CUEEEEETOOO" chant on loop and go to sleep to that every night.
You know I put a bit of the blame for Martin’s home run on Cincy’s catcher and pitching coach. You’re just going to sit there as your ace pitcher is clearly rattled when he dropped that ball. Instead, you just let him get back into his wind up and lob a meatball to Martin clearly frazzled. At least go out there and talk with him for 30 seconds-let him catch his breath and calm down! Neither Hanigan (catcher) or Dusty Baker (manager) were newbies…they should have had the sense to go out there and calm down Cueto.
Ive been super fortunate to attend a few playoffs games for the Pens and Steelers in my life. Nothing will ever compare to being with my friends at PNC on this night. PNC was electric, shaking and roaring. It felt like the fans carried that ball out. I will forever wonder what went through the Reds players minds as the chants got louder and he dropped the ball. I hope we get commentary one day from one of those guys because they had to feel it that night.
My favourite sports moment I have ever been a part of live .. unreal being there. Shame on the Pirates organization for letting this era go so cheaply and carelessly. Freaking sucks
He means he's a terrible person. Heck, he ended Jason Larue's career because he didnt have the intelligence to realize that a hard kick with cleats can seriously injure people
This is why I love being from Pittsburgh...we show passion like no others in our sports! As a 20 year old sophomore in college this makes me oh so happy to finally see a wing team! LETS GO PIRATES!!!
I think about the Pirates 2013 season all the time and if their division wasn’t so loaded that year I firmly believe they could have won the World Series.
I went to a Padres playoff game against the Cardinals, and there were people behind us trying to get us to sit down. To sit down. At a playoff game. I'm serious, that's how lousy the crowd was. And BTW David Wells, thanks for choosing NOT to pitch around Albert Pujols that day. Thank. You.
I wonder how many of these people at this game are also Steelers fans talking shit to Browns fans on Twitter rn, saying how “they don’t know how to act after 2 decades of losing seasons”
Pirates fans did same thing to Bumgarner in the 2014 Wild Card Game, but in the top 4th the lost their voices from that point on until all 3,000 of them hung around for the bottom of the 9th. Huh what happened?
What happened with Cueto was a one in a million strike of lightning. Pirates fans tried to do the same thing last year to Jake Arrietta and I could already tell he's too mentally strong for it to work, and it was a waste of time.
