In 1998, Pixar was hard at work on Toy Story 2 when disaster struck.
Through means still unknown to this day, somebody ran a command that started to delete various portions of the movie at random. This not only jeopardized the movie's release, but also caused massive problems for everybody at the studio.
If you thought this story couldn't get any crazier, what if I told you that a baby saved the movie? Well, sometimes, the truth is stranger than fiction...

True, a proud moment for the kid and a perfect subject to break the ice when it comes to conversations. But kinda sad cause the Pixar employee that saved the movie Galyn Susman, was laid off in the mass purge by Bob Iger. As said in the comments of Austin Mc Conell's video renaction of the scenario.

Can you imagine saving the movie from being deleted, to ending up being deleted anyway by the director and 2 years of animation completely wasted?

I can't imagine a situation at Pixar more frustrating than that. The fact that the movie is, without exaggeration, one of the best sequels ever made despite all of the development trouble is almost unbelievable.

So Toy Story 2 had a lot of time in the oven. No wonder it’s considered one of the greatest animated movies of all time. Something similar happened to Frozen when Disney wanted to adapt the Snow Queen all the way back when the company was just getting started.

Long time no see. Do you know there are many first draft script that better than the filmed one? I found first draft of Thor, The Wolverine, Spiderman 2, Green Lantern and many more. Also i found a lot of unproduced dc marvel script such -Lobo (2008) -Wally West The Flash (2006 and 2007) -Captain America (1986) -Iron Man (1997 and 2004) -Daredevil (1995 and 1998) -Third movie of Schumacher Batman -Gambit (2015) -X-men (1990s) -Namor The Submariner

Wait wait so all of that… and the movie got scrapped? What? Do we have any footage of the older Toy Story 2 before it got scrapped into the one we know today?

Most of the little bit that publicly exists is in the other video I did for Toy Story 2. But it’s not a ton at all, no footage of the old prospector design, Senorita Cactus, and like, only a second’s worth of footage of Bullseye talking.

Honestly, there’s a few videos I’ve been working on at the same time, so I’m not sure what exactly will be next. But- right now, I’m working on a DC related video, a Marvel related video, and a video that people have wanted me to make for a very long time. As for the Batfleck movie- heck yes. That is in my top 3 scripts I want to get my hands on. I’d LOVE to make a video on that. IMO he could have been the best Batman if he had a great script.

It's so wild to me- she was, without debate, probably the single most important person left at the studio. Her saving Toy Story 2 would guarantee her employment forever if I was running Pixar!
