When he hates a game he talks about how janky the mechanics are while showing clips of glitches from the game. When he likes a game the video is just a compilation of a bunch of references accompanied by loud music. He clearly likes this one.
This game is like finally being able to fulfill the dream of when you were little and you watched Looney Tunes and always imagined what it would be like to have cartoonish abilities
@@theboss3721 SpiderMan on the PS2 was the first strandpizza-esque game; truly setting the foundation for strandy classics such as "Life Diving" and "Genital Jousting"
I checked the release today, 2023. Given that fact I guess it wouldn’t be original but given competition and other recent games I guess one could argue the style is unique/different. It’s not anything that hasn’t been done before but it is still well executed imo either way
Why is the sauce lost in the pizza? What makes a pizza from mellow mushroom different from one dominos? I’m trying to crack the pizza code so I’d appreciate it if you gave me your insight.
What's even crazier is he is a character from a 1969 comedy album by the Firesign Theater, which is in itself a parody of the name of a Beatles song "Rocky Raccoon"
Made an account just to say this: It is an absolute travesty that this video came out 3 months ago and STILL no one has appreciated that dunkey used the audio from the award winning "Wario Dies in a Car Accident" at 5:26 - truly a man that pays respect to the classics.
I love the artstyle and animation of this game. The artstyle has a nice retro, internet, Microsoft Paint vibe to it and the animation feels like it comes straight out of Ed, Edd n Eddy. I love it
It's funny, that's kinda why i dislike the game lol. I totally understand where people are coming from with this, but something about the way it looks is very unappealing to me. I'm sure it will grow on me tho, as all amazing indie platformers do!
"it's like he has a bunch of greasy tomato sauce on his shoes" as someone who works in the food industry I can confirm this is an incredibly immersive detail
Honestly surprised it took dunk this long to make a pizza tower video. The moment I saw this game I immediately thought "this is a dunkey game" it's soo good
@@SgtLion he made a video about Forspoken like right when it came out, and that’s a dogshit game. This Microsoft paint looking funny platformer is literally the type of shit he loves. I’m surprised it took him so long to make a video about it too
And at 2:45 he says "goodbye horsey, famous song from the famous movie... 'Blazing Pizzas'", which is a reference to the song Goodbye Horses famously used in Silence of the Lambs.
Same mainly because he’ll actually give it a real review (no goddamn way it doesn’t make the list unless we have the best year of all of gaming, which I somehow doubt)
Hey Dunkey, Ive been watching your videos sense 2018. And I just wanted to thank you for being a incredibly consistent creator and comedian in both quality and original style. You are the only youtuber I've stuck with, every time I see you've made new content i am immediately filled with joy. And I can't wait to see more from BigMode. So from me to you Dunkey "go get em tiger."
I have to give massive props to Tour de Pizza for their innovation in the Italian-like game genre. No other game really captures the raw insanity of the average Italian, much less with this much accuracy!
funny because thats just a random idle animation, convenient timing lol. in my game when i went back to check on the horse n stopped moving he did a little dance
At first I thought this would be some kind of a joke but honestly I love it when Dunkey just shows us the gameplay and lets us make our own opinion. This game looks amazing.
as someone who lives in wisconsin, i can confirm that rocky rococo is our very own jesus christ who we must appease constantly by putting him in hollywood movies, lest he unleash his wrath and cut off our pepperoni supply.
i'm so glad he included some of the OST at the end because people who aren't familiar with this game need to understand that it has a freakin bussin OST on top of the cooky MSPaint visuals
I have no idea why, it's not even on purpose necessarily, but I end up watching this video like once a week. It gets recommended all the time and I have to click it everytime
now that i have beaten this game i can safely say it is not a ten cheese pizza, nor is it digiorno's. pizza tower is the pizza from the local joint you always begged your parents to order when you were a kid and they could barely afford it but the cheese is so stretchy and the pepperoni is so well-sliced and the sauce is so juicy that you realize you'll never be able to have the same pizza again. and then you realize you can open a new save file and play it a second time and you go FUCK YES
One of my favorite things about Dunkey is that he's continuously developing his own memetic vocabulary. Every other joke he makes is an oblique reference to a joke he made like 8 years ago. He makes comedy compound on itself.
I'm still skeptical of a RU-vidr who uses too much humor to ever be taken seriously and his wife trying to run a legitimate game publishing company, but if they and Tour De Pizza join forces my doubts will be gone as long as they can deliver a pizza game as good as Pizza Tower
