This reminds me that I've had my second hand PKM for 6 years now and I should probably have the gearbox serviced as I've never even taken it out the receiver, dread to think what it looks like inside after so many years of constant usage.
I had the same exact problem with an A&K 249. I tried changing the bearings out for bushings and the gearbox would lockup about halfway through a cycle if you spun the gears by hand. I forget how I fixed it but something tells me the QC on these isn't amazing.
I was looking to get a PKM but prices now are no sense. Six months ago I could buy it for 550€ but now is 779€, for an A&K! Absolutely non sense, the MSRP is 550$ 😑
Hi ned. Recently I put my hands on two factory new PKM from GunFire and both of them have the bearing holes not aligned. The gears turns but it it was a pain in the ass to shim them, expecially the bevel gear. Where I live the PKM price is 750€ but I them on deal at 440€ each. 440 for that shit! 😡
The only real reason it does a MOSFET is low battery detection. It would be a gate nano hard. Then again you can also use a lipo alarm. I. Fact that's what I do with my bullgear drum in my lct rpk16. Same as fields that don't have full auto restrictions. Also if you have a high speed build maybe they have rof limits so you use it as a regulator. It has a perun hybrid in it but the drum just uses 600 mah 7.4's. and I have 2. Hopefully it can last for all 5000 rounds.
just stumbled on your channel and you seem to have a very knowledgeable....just getting into Airsoft and am looking for a full to mid size platform (6,3 so nothing to small) Dont mind a bit of fiddling but not too much, either full metal or mix and decent internals or base for easy upgrades??? Budgets about £300..will sub for info 😂
Look at you big bollocks with the alignment trick 👍🏻 bravo. Question for you soldier, my gearbox case has just blown its front end off so obviously need to replace. What v2 shell would you recommend around the £50 mark please?? The one that has just shit its pants is a lancer tactical (I know😅) so I assume most boxes would be an upgrade in strength?? Running 13:1 gears, 7.4 lipo, high torque motor, silent piston set up. Would much appreciate your expert guidance. Cheers in advance fella.
I’m not him but get a cyma gearbox and radius the front, you can usually get a complete gearbox for less than that, and keep the cyma parts in storage for later
@@NegativeAirsoftTech I'm from the Johnny Maxwell school of thought, 'as long as it doesn't smell like burning plastic when I turn it on its a win.' The tldr is 12v car battery would be a faster fire rate but more heat.
You can easily pull a few hundred amps from a car battery for a short burst, I suspect the failure point will be the regulator, I think it would struggle with a load varying that much and that quickly
@@baldpig2k12 if you are really dumb and have it running off the vehicles system rather than a independant leisure battery regulated output you can get real hilarity as your 12v battery is now at 14.2v.
SHS Gears all day long. Got mine 249 with a base 20K and 13:1 Tuning up to a M150 20 RPS with 2,4 Joule on .32. Yeah we in europe east like it little rough than you englisch tea party girls
So, before you put in those locating screws how did you stop the gearbox from realigning itself when you put the regular screws in? Did you just put them in at an angle and they held in place?
@@NegativeAirsoftTech As a gunsmith I watch has said "You're not just paying for my time, you're paying for the years I've spent figuring out how to do this".
I have one here from a teammate. Wich starts firing when the box mag is connected with the plug. Any idea what in the electronic of the magazine can cause this?
@@NegativeAirsoftTechYou messed with the 4.3 or 5.1 yet? I know you hated the way it looked, was wondering if you enjoyed the others more or if the look is still fugly to you
