❤❤❤❤❤❤ this video so much. It was very helpful! Oak Meadow has always seemed so overwhelming to me; however your video simplified it for me. Also, thanks for sharing about Homeschool Planet and pointing out that it can be printed out. I am so "paper and pen" planner. Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you. Oh, I'm so glad it was helpful. It was my biggest struggle with starting this curriculum. Yes. I still have my paper planner. ☺️ The digital just helps make things easier to keep track of and allows my boys to be a little more independent.
Oak meadow was great for us too..... I just couldn't find used oak meadow for the next level qe needed & at the time new wasnt in the budget so we went back to my fathers world
Thanks for the planning video. Do you know what grade for English teaches the writing process? I'm trying to decide what grade level to start my (11yro) daughter in. She hasn't had much formal writing instruction
My 11 year old is doing OM 5 now and last year in OM 4 they did have some papers and worked through the writing process. This year is a little more. The 6th grade level was even more, but I'm seeing that the 8th grade will have more direct writing instruction and exercise. I hope that helps. Lately, I have been doing Write Shop I (with both of my 11 and 13 year old) I think that has been helpful too. It's more direct writing instructions.
Thanks for a look inside Homeschool Planet. Can you tell it how long an assignment should take as some of your blocks were longer than others visually? Thanks 😊
Hey lady! So the block size varies depending on the amount the text/words in the description of the assignments. Usually, he spends 45 minutes to an hour on Oak Meadow's history and science. About 30 - 45 minutes on OM math. About 30 minutes on OM English and 30 -45 on supplements for English and math
I've done it that way too. I do feel grateful to have found something that is working for BOTH of my boys...at least for now! I hope it stays that way!
