As a gymnastics coach I thank you for having supinated palms (palms facing down) while doing your ring back lever. This is way healthier and reduces risk of shoulder injury
@@Sheriff.Movement That's why you have to build up to the back lever over months and years so that your bicep tendon can handle that kind of tension. Skin-the-Cats are a great way to build up to the B lever.
@@RyabThatBaconGuy So true, you want to reinforce your biceps tendons but you cannot rush it. Its a great way to prepare yourself for maltese/cross work
I thought the back lever and the planche use more or less the same muscles too, but aren't the lats also flexing the shoulder since the arm is in an extended position? aren't the lats the prime movers in back levers?
Depends how you define it. As you’re hanging below the bar, it’s technically a pull movement… but it uses the exact same muscles as the planche. For this reason, when I program back lever training, I include it on push day.
@@SimonsterStrength thank you very much for your quick reply in a video that's over 2 years. Quick question: So in the traditional vertical/horizontal push / pull 4 exercises, I currently have the pull up, row, hspu and dip. Which one would be a more direct replacement? Backlever for dip?
