You are 💯 correct on flying ESFs I play on ps5 (most of the time) and PC and flying for me is the hardest part of the game to get good at. I could probably practice more often but with ops with my outfit on Playstation I don't have lot of time for practice, and on continents at least on the Playstation game I am basically a sitting duck for the flyers with lots of experience

More people would be flying I think if the controls for flight didn't...absolutely suck. Unless something has changed recently. Worse, the flying controls are used sometimes almost as a gatekeeping mechanic, because it takes so, so, so long to become remotely proficient with them. I've played plenty of flight games (X-Wing, the old Jane's games, to modern like Elite Dangerous), I have a HOTAS setup (nothing crazy, just a TS1600M), and the fact I can't use that setup bugs the absolute shit out of me. Worse, the mouse+keyboard would be more doable if they were more refined and/or manipulable in the settings. But there just isn't that much in the way of fine-tuning. It's needlessly tricky and difficult and serves as a massive wall to taking part in flying in the game. And particularly for casuals/newbs, that's an easy thing to prioritize out with so many *other* things to do in the game. I know the controls used to be a lot more intuitive before the Playstation days, so surely there's some sort of PC-side fix they can implement to restore that. Just my 2 cents on the flight thing.

Flying experience should be improved by a lot to make it easier for beginners. That would help a lot.

Every day that servers are not merged ps2 is bleeding players. Merging servers can in my eyes save ps2 for 2-5 years more. If they dont do that soon the average game pop will soon go below 500.

Nice to hear the subject of outfit and faction balance being mentioned. For me, the decline in organized NC outfits, has been part of the reason I no longer find it entertaining to play on Cobalt. It requires too much effort and planning to gather even enough players to field 3 Vanguards, while VS, and in particular TR, can field both organized air and land vehicles to the battle. Moved to Miller NC - hoping for a server merge in the future.

What if the devs implemented a special NSO contract/mission to play on a ‘loosing’ faction?

Air anomaly and maximum pressure alerts. I like them, however if they bring them back. They need to not make aircraft free or maxes free. Making it free reallly just encourages spamming during these alerts and isn't healthy

Average pop is decreasing by a few percentages each month, it's been getting worse for a year now if not more. If they don't wanna merge servers, then I don't know how the game will survive, ps3 is probably the only way out. Just my two cents...

You need to do about 10+ years worth of research and history for the "alienating Wrel" comment. Gimme a fucking break.

vanu players generally are more skilled/sweaty than players of the other factions, that said, its probably because when sweaty tryhards first join planetside they see guns that are hard to control (TR), guns that have recoil (NC), and guns with no recoil (VS) and obviously pick no recoil - every other stat is subordinate to the control factor since they dont matter if you don't land your shots. that filter then snowballs until you have a whole faction of players who are good at shooters/aiming with a more sweaty culture. i know from talking to other PLs on connery that leading vanu platoons is much easier compared to the other two factions, people on VS just have a culture of trying compared to NC and TR. but bottom line is that the guns are the main reason for the disparity. regarding infils i actually think your suggestion a couple months ago is the best, get rid of SMGs for infils (obviously), swap bolters from infil to engi (or, alternatively, just deny invis bolting, infils can have their bolty they just cant pop in and out of fucking warp), personally if we get rid of primaries for infils like that i'd like to see them be able to dual wield pistols because im a filthy casual XD but i dont think that'd be nearly as rough as it is now. I don't care for dok's solution but i think it'd probably have a similar result to just banning the SMG. its still going to be incredibly annoying to be doing everything right and then get traded out by some .5 KD infil because your teammates are blind, or to just get two tapped by some shitter in a corner, and without just removing invisibility or nerfing infils into the ground idk how to fix that in particular.

When you have one faction with better accuracy stats than the other factions, there is always going to be a disparity. Always.

The fact that the devs still do not see that LAs having the ability to wield C4 and rocket rifle and now the ability to move swiftly through the air in a single loadout is insanely moronic. If they care so much about spawns then get LAs need to be put in place, but we all know they do not have the intellect to grasp it and therefore the game remains eternally broken.

They could bring back old Esamir, nerf scout rifles and infil and id be happy. Everything else is pretty much just copium at this point. Nothing else is wrong with the game
