Nice job putting all this together Neil. I did this trip twice back in the 70s and 80s did not have all these resources. For someone starting off through your information they’ll be well prepared.

Really enjoy your videos on these rivers, very informative! I still have to reach out to you about the Turgeon and Harricana rivers. Unfortunatley it looks like that trip will be postponed until 2024 because the wife is going to Australia for 3 months and my brother and and my nephew are both getting married this year. So our trips are all up in the air except my solos while the wife is gone. I was looking at the Canadian Heritage Rivers website, it's strange that there is nothing on there about Quebec rivers as Quebec rivers played a big part in Canadian history. Thank you for sharing.

Sounds like an exciting year for the family! You might consider linking into a trip with the WCA, RACC, Club Pierre Radisson, or another club…

@@ndginpq never even thought of that! I will look into those clubs. Thank you.

Have you / can you pass Moosenee and hit the Bay and then paddle back to town? If so, how much time would this add?
@ndginpq
@ndginpq 6 месяцев назад
I wouldnt paddle the Bay past Moosanee unless you have local knowledge. The tides are strong and the waves can get really big. But at Moosanee you’re practically there. Further out and back would be a day paddle. I wouldn’t go looking for a campsite in the Bay!

How much current can we expect to get on this river? Are the non-rapid sections mostly flat water or can we expect a boost from the current?

It comes and goes - peterbell marsh is like lake paddling, the rest is a few kms/hr
