You are the component that I have been missing in my garden. As I learn the basics of the dynamic garden and the 6 seasons, I will need to learn a new vocabulary of plants. I am in Puyallup and am happy that you focus on the PNW. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience in such a positive format. You make the learning curve fun.

Yes! Love what you are talking about. I'm in zone 9b northern California so winter is quite mild but there still are quite a few definite seasons if you know what to look for. The dynamic rhythm of my garden is what keeps me grounded. I don't go by calendar days for gardening, I use the equinoxes & solstices & cross quarter days & moon phases. I try to spend at least 15 minutes walking through my garden daily but at least 5 minutes sheltered on the porch looking out at my garden if the weather is truly terrible.
Oh this is SO good!!! I love that you’re experiencing the shifts. Our gardens are so much more than 4 seasons. And I LOVE looking at the moon cycles and tracking what is happening in my garden during that time too. Well done!

I just watched your video from your presentation and I thoroughly enjoy every minute. The first order of business is to create the spreadsheet. I plan to add one more column...the color of the plant/flower. This will help me put all of your suggestions to work in perfect color harmony!!!

I wanted to be at this years PNWFG show, but the Snoqualmie Pass wasn’t cooperating with my plans. Thank you so much for recording this talk and beautiful presentation. “Head, shoulder, knees and toes” will be my new motto for planning. At 78, it is always great to be inspired in the garden, even though it seems so far to the ground now. Ha. I've taken away several gardening tips that I desperately needed, the spreadsheet of bloom times. I hesitate to use grasses because of snakes in South Carolina love to hind in them. I'd have to trim them half way up so I could see the bottom. 😅 I also can't have hosta because of deer. So I opt for brunnera.
