I want the beach area to be a really inviting place! Mod & Asset List: steamcommunity.com/sharedfile... ➤ Visit my website for my Twitter, Twitch, other channels, specs and more! My Website: jamesturner.yt
The city could be named Bowser Bay, maybe? It's fun to see how you're building some things pretty close to the real world version of this map :D the beachfront park is quite the trademark of this city.
It feels like it’s 2017 and I’m 18 all over again. It’s so good having you back! I can’t wait for you to fully be back in the groove again. Your older series always hit just the right mix of creative and fun ideas with not overdoing it on the mods and assets and getting bogged down in the details. I’m looking forward to the future of this city 😊
That's my main issue with builders like Czardus, Overcharged Egg, and CPP (at least with his modded series). They get so bogged down in details that I just can't hang with it anymore. I'm like "YOU'VE HAD A SKYROCKETING RESIDENTIAL DEMAND FOR 3 EPISODES NOW, BUT SURE, SPEND 4 HOURS BUILDING A WALMART."
@@PalmelaHanderson that’s what I dislike most about other series, spend way too much time perfecting cities and builds when in reality, places are made up of imperfections that simply make them the places they are
@@jcshy It's all good, I mean different strokes for different folks and all that, and some people like watching that. I just can't hang with a series that spends an entire episode building and perfecting like 1 asset.
@@PalmelaHanderson even CPPs unmodded series. Sometimes he spends like 3-4 minutes to get a road on a + degree different angle. I just can't be botherrd to sit through that sort of stuff
I really quite like pink trees around the main intersection, they're a nice contrast. Maybe you could make that a feature in this city, similar to how Skargard had a permanent autumnal vibe?
This map you're using (Santos) is based of the real city of Santos located in the state of São Paulo in Brazil. It's a portuary and tourist city, it has some pretty nice beaches and it's quite a spot. Cheers from Brazil, glad you are back 💪🏻
A long time ago, when I was like 14, I used to play your videos on a giant flat screen in the basement for litteraly hours. Like all night flabiliki city sky lines marathons. That was the life
Loving this new series. The childcare and eldercare buildings will help with birthrates and life expectancy, of seniors, in their radius. Using them together will help prevent death waves.
This is the best time to be alive! I still can’t believe James is back on cities skylines! I’m enjoying it so much so far!! Thank you so much James!! I hope you’re enjoying yourself!☺️
Two suggestions, on Dean Beach, the diamond head across from the fort looking thing needs to be 100% a lighthouse, maybe find a cool looking one on the workshop, and the fort looking thing needs to be a national park and the fort maintained, Fort Dean was the original point to defend West-valley durning some war from incoming ships.
loving this! i feel like you should replace the big boulevard with a grass or tree median one, and some of the other roads to tree lined ones - i think it'll make the town look better, plus help your citizens! oh, and adding some of the new tourism stuff to the beach park! loving the look of the parallel coast roads
Quick Tip - If you use one of the 4 - lane two way roads WITH centre median, and draw just 2 (or 3 without mods) tiles on the end of small streets, it creates a little "cul-de-sac" or mini turning area/round-a-bout for vehicles. Also, asymmetric roads are your BIGGEST friend in CS for helping with traffic congestion (so you can implement dedicated turning lanes). A few come with vanilla CS (IIRC), and there are also heaps of variations available on the workshop.
What about West Bowser Beach? It keeps the west from the original name, nods to the coastal nature of the area, and kind of implies that 1. There is an East Bowser Beach, 2. That it was named for someone, like the first Mayor or notable resident. Also, It would amuse me to imagine a ChowChow as a major local historical figure,
Im so happy with this series! I love the chill vibe. If you want u should think about creating more parking lots (I feel I would go crazy finding a spot to park if I was a citizen) and now that your city is expanding to add more buses, specially now that your industrial areas are spread out
I only recently started watching your original cities skylines videos so it's wild going from watching videos that are like 6 years old to the ones you're posting today. The original ones are great but you've also come so far! Thanks for all the great videos over the years!
Oh yes, the beach area is starting to look great, it's such a cool map too with all the water and the interesting shapes it makes on the land. What I don't really understand is how the population works in this game, it looks like quite a big town to have only 5000 people, doesn't it?
I would love if the path next to the beach had bikes, we have that in my city and it's a huge place for bikers I'm new to this game and kinda got addicted because of your videos. Now I need more and I'm going to go watch the old series 😁😁😁
I think removing that pedestrian lane on the entrance of the city will make more sense instead of entering the city and the first thing you'll do is to wait people to cross the street.
Definitely do a tram down the middle of the foreshore road!! It would be so cool. And then you could run it up through the hills and have a park with a viewing point looking down on the beaches and make it a perfect scenic tourist route
There is a Bridges and Piers Content Creator Pack with some very nice bridges and quays that you might like! Also, the super bendy buses might be a tad overkill for this small town. You should think about changing the capacities on the vanilla buses to be more realistic.
Ive been binge watching your other skylines videos after this being my first one I watched as I didn’t think this game was for me. 20 episodes in one day of parklife and it’s safe to safe Im addicted. The way you play these games is so relaxing but entertaining. It’s the good amount of fun and chill and not boring
Welcome back! Loving the series. Minor suggestion, check out the Suburban Powerlines mod. It adds smaller utility poles that you can run along roads for power. It looks a bit cleaner so you aren't ruining landscapes, and also preserves zoning along those roads!
Hey James, do you have the Parkify mod? It lets you put park buildings onto sidewalks inside park areas. I feel like it would help flesh out your beach park a lot.
I love the layout of your city. I'm taking a lot of inspiration from it, like spreading the industries looks very nice. Until now I have treated industry like a necessity, but this is really cool!
There's a neighborhood called The Hills where I live and there isn't any Hills all flat land... Soo idk maybe Beachwood Hills sounded okay to me lmfao!!
This town/city is coming along really nicely! It's such a different vibe compared to Dylan's (ConflictNerd) current series, but in no way is that a bad thing! Add a little bit more detail to the beachfront park, like some more tress and bushes, as well as some invisible paths along the beach, like DuckofDeathV suggested. Easy to do, just do what you di in this part for the pier! :)
Absolutely loving this series. I have been binging it when I can (I have a 6 month old baby) and it's nice to chill out to. So many videos these days are hectic. This series is just what I needed. Thank you James. Keep up the good work!
I'm just now binging this series but I kept thinking how perfect an old stone-looking bridge would be because it was leading over to some castle ruins. 😅 I can't wait to see what we end up upgrading it to!
I think the town is missing few roundabouts! You could have put one before the bridge and solved your problem. Same with all of the intersections with the two one-way roads.
Petition for a Bowser's Castle up in the hills somewhere for Bowserville. A WWII fort or old castle asset from the workshop perhaps? (There is that cool castle out in the bay, but I'm not sure if you can rename it, and does it attract tourists? Hence an asset)
This is coming along nicely! One thing you could think about as you expand and buy more land... What about putting in some tolls to bring in additional money?
I use standard fences to control zoning. It’s not as precise as the mod could be but seeing as it’s not really working half the time you might want to consider them as easy alternative
What do we think about a roundabout sort of thing for connecting the current 'main road' (coming from the highway) and the new beach side double main road? The double crossing thing already makes my tummy hurt lol
Hi James... I want this game, it's so good. Really enjoying this game. You mentioned naming the space after Bowser... and you said this bay... so how about Bowser Bay or The bay of Bowser
What if you named the beach Bowser Beach? As for the name of the town - I live in New Jersey, USA and there is a town here called Turnersville. Or do an homage to The Sims and call it Newcrest since you are building it from scratch like that world.
