Hi! Did you know.. it's really easy to be a good plant mom! I went to home depot recently and bought a dying peace lily for 50% off! Have you ever wondered "Is my peace lily dead? Can I save my dying peace lily?" WELL, I'm here to show you how you can bring your dying peace lily back to life! I'll also show you how to drill drainage holes (without an electric drill), repot a money tree, create the perfect cactus soil mix, properly water and prune your plants, and fix issues related to overwatering and under watering. I also explore plants that are toxic for animals.

3 parts potting soil
2 parts coarse sand (turface or poultry grit)
1 part perlite (or pumice)

NASA has claimed that your peace lily help improve air quality by remove air pollutants (especially Benzene and Trichloroethylene).
Plant Care
Soil: Well draining
Sunlight: bright indirect light (light helps encourage the flowers to grow!)
Watering: Water your plant when the top layer of soil is dry. When you see the leaves drooping, it is a sign that the plant is very thirsty. Run water through the soil and let it fully drain. It is best to use filtered water (Although I use tap water, I haven't found there to be any issues with my previous peace lilies!)
Temperature: Above 16 degrees
Money Tree - Braid 5 inch

The Chinese believes that money trees can bring good fortune! (I cannot confirm whether this is true or not)
Soil: Well draining
Sunlight: best in partial and indirect bright light
Watering: Water your plant when the top layer of soil is dry (approx 2-4 inches). Run water through the soil and let drain completely.
Temperature: Best between 16 to 30
I'm not an expert. I've learned everything I know through RU-vid and by doing online research! These are just some tips and tricks that I have gathered. It's important to do your own research. If you have any tips and tricks of your own, please share your great ideas with me! I'd love to know :)

The fact that I have a peace lily and a money tree. They’re still alive after a few months. But I want them to be more vibrant and healthy. The peace lily was gifted to me by friends after my grandfather’s death so after the many plants I’ve killed it’s important for me to keep this one alive. This is my first time with a peace lily and my second money tree. Glad to have found this video. Very divine.

Great video...I have had mine for 11 years and lucky she has never looked that back. Peace Lillies are evergreen plants so they really shouldn't die unless they are not being taken care of. So thank you for saving it.

You did a beautiful job with the peace Lilly and the money tree. My peace Lilly is in bad shape it has rotting roots. I cut them off and placed the plant in water In Hopes it will survive and grow new roots. Thanks for sharing!

My sister gave me one. Poor thing was half dead. She had put two in a large planter. I got smaller pots and replanted them. She saw them and how good they are doing. Now she's giving me her other 2. When I get through with them I'll have 6. She truly isn't a plant person.

Great video cuz I have a peace lily and a money tree as well and I know that is time for me to repot My Money Tree although the pot they put it in is small and it does have great drainage but I feel like it's time to change the soil and your video really help me with I mean how to go about doing it

Hello I just bought two of those peace lilies and I tried to let them get used to my home for about a week I noticed that the leaves kept drooping over even after I watered it and the next day they were still drooping so I lifted up out of the pot and the dirt was so compact and so old that's why the water wasn't going through and draining from the bottom like it's supposed to so I gave it brand new dirt and they are doing just fine

Love how you made taking care of a sad peace lily so easy! My peace lily's roots aren't popping out at the bottom of the pot but at the top of the soil. Is that normal? 😅 Does it mean it's time for repotting or is there a different problem I need to address? Please help this new plant mom 🙏

when i moved to my new apartment, my mom gave me her peace lily and i’ve had it healthy for months, but i think i may have either harmed it when i re-potted it recently, or over watered it causing root rot. i’m so sad to see it look so dead and i’ve been trying to find ways to revive it :( thank you so much for this video!

It's so sad to see old plants go sick! I had an avocado plant for 2 years and it got infested with bugs over the summer causing the leaves to fall. I hope everything works out with your peace lily! Good luck & thank you!

Hi again I never use sink as soon as I get it out of the sink I put water in 2-liter bottles and I let it sit from 7 to 10 days before I put it on my plants and they love it

Hey! Question 🙋🏽‍♂️ not sure if you’ll see this but is it necessary to loosen the old soil for the money tree? Like wouldn’t the root ball suffocate the roots or do they like a tight fit?? Sorry I’m a little worried cuz I gotta repot mine soon and not sure if it’s getting sufficient water, should I just loosened the root ball or completely repot into new soil?? thanks in advance!:)

Thank you! ☺️ Hmm, it depends on why it is drooping! If it has to do with over/under watering or lack of bright indirect sunlight I would suggest to keep in original container until it gets better. That is because repotting can sometimes cause shock to plants! But if it has to do with the soil (i.e. the soil is not well draining enough which may be causing the drooping) then I would suggest repotting!

I let my peaclilly start drooping then water it till the water rises to the rim the let it drain and just empty the water form the pot over 10 minutes as it drains at that work’s very well I find

I also got a peace lily because I felt bad for it. It had very crispy edges and half dying leaves and the flowers even had crispy edges. Cut the crispy ones and the terrible leaves. It is a tiny peace lily. The pot was also far too small. Didn't go that much larger but I did go a size or two up. And put it in terracotta pot. It wasn't drooping and the roots looked mostly healthy. Think they under watered at one stage and the water was really hard water. I just haven't seen such a small one and . It's been a week nearly since I repot. Didn't droop afterwards. So not sure how it will do next week. Just stressed about the watering thing because I want it to de well and I don't want to kill it.

Hi I have a peace lily it's about a medium big and I would like to know do you have to cut or trim it any kind of way and I also bought a grow light because I don't get that much sunlight in the window it is at is that sufficient that comes through or with the girl I helped I am going to start using distilled water because I've heard that you should use that I've had it about 2 years and it's doing great overall except for adults shoot out white lilies and I don't know why

You should also mention if peace Lily over water..the leaves also drooping..and not to water them at night. That's what happened to mine.. indoor with cool temperature and not enough indirect sun also unsuitable

My peace lily is droopy when i got it. It was dry so i watered it, and a day or 2 later it is still droopy and limpy? Brown tips on some leaves. I have a picture of it. The leaves also feel thin and weak. Same thing with a pothos i got from my mom

If you water your plant and it shoots up then it’s under watering and if you over water your plant it will stay droopy was over watering mine and it’s slowly coming back to life after overwatering

I don't understand why my peace lily looks fresh when I keep it in water (no soil). If I put it in soil and water as you did, it starts wilting. Seriously, like it's been dying in soil and thriving in only water.

Hey! Could it be that it’s not getting enough indirect sunlight? Peace lilies tend to do best under bright indirect sunlight. Also, is the soil well draining and watered thoroughly? It could also be that the plant is taking time to get used to the new pot/soil from repotting. I hope we can find a solution to this!

You really didn't look at the root ball of the money tree. When I took mine apart there was a rubber band wound tight around the roots.

OMG I tried it & it worked!! I was sick in bed and forgot to take care of my peace lily 🪴 and I did the same exact steps and she finally looks pretty 😂 I was like omg I failed you!!! So glad it’s looking good as new.

You basin is going to be blocked, are you sure watering plant on basin is the correct way to water the plant ?

You're right! Watering over the sink is not the best idea so thanks for pointing that out! Better methods that can help allow drainage and prevent blockage is to put a plate or saucer under the planter to catch the excess water and if weather permits, sometimes I water outside. Let me know if you have some good ideas to share.

FYI I’ve never seen a poisoned animal that I’ve owned and owned every plant known to man. With a minimum of 3 cats and one dog at a time. Let’s not helicopter everything.
