Plant spotlight series: Milkweed 

You're quickly getting back on top of things

Loving this series. I use milkweed, or cattail fluff, for wind indicators during hunting. Way better than those baby powdered type ones. And it helps spread the plants around for future use. I didn't know about the edible parts. Thank you. Now I can have a snack as well.

Thanks for the plant series. I always want to learn that, but I always struggle to identify and remember plants. Great information.

We were always told that milkweed is poisonous. That is why the monarch butterfly eats it so that it becomes poisonous/distasteful to predators. Now you are telling us we can eat it. There are so many plants I was told was poisonous which today people are saying it's ok to eat. It's pretty hard to dismiss the fear that was installed in us when we were young to try eating plants we were warned against.
