I like the mora # 3, got one somewhat recently. I like the larger size. the # 2 is perfect for general use. I also have a #1 and the blade is a bit shorter but also a bit thinner, makes for a bit better of a cutting slicing blade, for finer work I suppose.
This would be a great trap to make prior to camping unless you have time to burn while camping. I like the mechanics of it so I’ll set it up using a windlass or log-fall. Thanks for showing this.
Basically the uses you are doing are not best suited for a machete the marine learned that and used a hospital mans knife in ww2 different in later jungle conditions… this is vines and brush and thickets…. Lt knows it but here we are again… a heavy parang would be closer to a chipper see you ex -perts later
Old timer need to have the bevelles set and rehoned the steel is good but not as good as the flexcut but is not bad. If you can do the work then great value for the cash
You are a joke no matter how good a knife is made of it’s not made in USA it’s no good just remove rough riders is now putting case to shame in America we have plenty of lazy workers that don’t care about quality control
Hey! New subscriber here. I am a knife maker and am looking how I can make a nice but fast finish. I Was looking for a good video about how LT does the finish on their blades and came across your channel. I’ve watched several video now and I noticed you had a several year hiatus from uploading and I wanted to say welcome back and thank you for the content!
The pro blade looks similar to the Fiskars SW 75 I have also a pull cut saw. I was on a hike last week and found a Bacho in forest. Seems it spent the winter outdoors but a little elbow grease and it looks like new. Greetings from Norway
I got a Fiskars Xtract saw a long time ago, same blade profile, and it did put my Bahco in early retirement. Way faster, easier to cut dry or green wood.. And as an added bonus, i don't have the back of the blade grinding my bag or whatever happens to be next to it in the bag.
Laplanders are the Mora's of folding saws, it's fitting they should sell a Mora with some of the Laplanders. It's inexpensive, reliable and doesn't weigh a lot in your pack. Maybe some other saws cut a little better but I want the reliability. I'll look into the new model and see what is what though, always worth a look.
@@WilliamMyersmantisoutdoors Hey William, is nthere a link to where it can be purchased. I sure can not seem to find it. I never was in the Silky camp I have been with some pretty good woodsmen ober the years and it seems like they all break their Silky blades too often. Thanks
Bacho has been my go-to saw ever since You and Chris and Jesse did that initial review all those years ago. I will always prefer it over Silky, or anything else. Great video Will.
The good things about the original Laplander are low price, strong, reliable blade. The Silkys may cut better but are way more expensive and have issues with blades bending or breaking. Hopefully the new blade will be just as trustworthy with better performance.
That’s a beautiful sheath. I’ll check him out. BTW, your daughter reminds me of her mom, wow. Even the mannerisms! Do you know if he does sheaths for Battle Horse Knives? If not, I’ll ask him directly. - see you in the next one.
If they had a Geopress sized Ti cup that would be great! The pathfinders stainless cup works too. Someone makes a tight knit canvas Milbank bag that you can pre-filter the water before it goes into your Grayl so that you can extend the life of your filter. The bag doubles as a carrier for your bottle!
"DO NOT REMOVE FLINT" 😂 but seriously that place probably carries a juju 😳 the ancients have a way longer living culture there then were taught or believed!!✊️🔥✌️💚
You can’t take 1 lousy piece of flint for the fire kit?? Jeeze. I don’t know the history of this place, but it’s a bit of a ridiculous rule. Who makes these rules up? Isn’t this public property? While it would be great to see this place, it’s a bit too far of a drive to come home empty handed.
@woodswalker64 you can get all the flint you want at nether farms just down the road.... it's kinda a problem here everyone was taking flint from the site and whole paths where cleared out
My good lord - I can't believe it!!!!! One of my favorite youtube channels - so great to see you back Will. I hope your health is good as well. God bless and take care.
