OK, you talked me into it. Let's look at the 4 layers of muscles in the plantar foot (the sole) and see if we can work out what all of these muscles are. And the odd tendon.

8:59 plantar fasciitis is also caused by bad/old footwear. For example, heeled footwear that provides "technology" that is supposed to help with fitness, running, etc., but instead provides an imbalance in the foot leading to the heel pain described by Sam

@8:45 plantar fasciitis may be linked to heel running, as opposed to natural bare-foot running that uses the front pad of the foot and the heel never touches the ground.

Just a small slip of the tongue i had to rewind to confirm - at about 21:35 you said the fibularis longus inserts into 5th metatarsal but you were pointing at and meant the 1st metatarsal. Adduction and abduction in toes is very important when gripping for stability when our feet are in their natural form, which we rarely use these days, which is barefooted. This ability is not just weak in most, but non existent. Infact most people that I come across are flat footed these days. Their entire foot is complacent.

Plantar fasciitis too often generalize diagnosis. The orientation of these multiple foot bones and there mobility often cause the pain. Really looking at the differential objective findings you ll figure out the issues. Weight is not such a issue at foot wear , any macro or micro trauma and absorption of forces upon the foot Dr Brad

Hey I love your videos!! Quick question maybe u can help me… I have a sharp pain in my lower abdomen on the right side right where the appendix is… I went to the ER and they didn’t see any signs of appendicitis but it feels like a sharp pain right where the appendix is… When I allow my foot to relax and not flex the top muscle the pain is in my lower abdomen and it’s sharp pain. Some how it connects but I have no idea what it is… So I’m wondering what type of muscle strain would cause this ?? Super weird hope you can help
@myla6135
@myla6135 Год назад
I've no real response to your question Julia but I'm "super weird" too. I can massage my ankle and get sharp electric type pains in my ribs and shoulder blades. When I mention it to any therapist they sort of blank out and talk about something else. I'm putting it down to connective tissue which is everywher, and my connective tissue is very suspect due to my hypermobility (something else therapists blank out on). BTW I'm no expert on anything anatomical. Just trying to figure out why my foot hurts near my flexor hallicis longus (as I've just learned). Hope you sorted your pain out. Mine are here to stay I fear.
