I hate to see you make this mistake calling down when they are light, you have to raise. You have to raise. You know your gut is right, you cannot let that little pair win,you have to raise. I’ve learned that the hard way myself several times and I said, never again will I just call and be correct and still loose. I always raise from now on in these situations and I win probably 75% of the time. Also, they will not beat all streets next time knowing you will punish them on the river if they bet a light hand. Just my experience with this situation and hopefully it’ll help others find a way to win the pot when they know the villain is light. Thanks for the great content and showing us your dog also.
I play at the MGM all the time in the 5/10. Every 5/10 player know each other! It is a tough table to play. Stick with the 2/4 game! More visitors and amateurs are there
love the honesty of the vlog you're not like most vloggers that showcase their best plays to make themselves look better not knowing that majority of us viewers see it and know their just trying to make it look like they're some super pro. lol, keep up the quality vlogs, I look forward to all of your uploads, hope we run into each other on the felt one day. ignore the haters, they're mostly all micro stake grinders who think they know everything 😂
i've learned more from you than any other poker videos. in fact, you motivated me to try NO LIMIT (a big step up from 4-8 LIMIT)........guess what 2 tidbits i always use in my game: POSITION & PREMIUM HANDS!!! thank you.
That 5/10 is one of the most difficult games to win in that ive ever played in. All those guys that play there and are the regs you described are pros pros.
Your call with the KQ is something I've experienced myself. I have to learn to raise in those situations because if they're as weak as we think they are then they can't call the raise. 99 would be more in your range and the check raise on the river when the 9 hits makes sense from your standpoint.
I used to 'live' at the MGM. You are playing on the ramp towards the rear of the room. There is a LOT of light calling gambling in that room. Won a $5K pot at the 2/5 table on that ramp. The action can be quite good. Hope you had fun!
Hi Lex, I think the K high call on the river was a good call and your initial read was dead on, it seemed super weak and I wondered if you considered raising as an option in the moment to possibly have the player throw away slightly better hands than K high or did it seem like he might call down if raised? Good vlog, cheers
@@Trust_but_Verify min click would be giving the villain like 5:1 pot odds on a call. Maybe the absolute worst ever 5-10 player would be folding but going to get snap called by nearly everyone. Raising was definitely the right play but min clicking would have been the absolute worst possible play imho
Hey Lex thanks for the video I really in joy seeing different places that you play you are one of my favorite players to watch lol keep them coming Wow didn’t know you have a twin brother lol
Great Vlog as always! I enjoy your description/assessment of the table when you first sit down to begin playing, but Lex step up your confidence game. You are a VERY good player and just maybe some of those pros and regs you’re sitting down with are saying in the back of their head… “oh S**T, Lex is at my table“.
I think on the first hand where you had AA you should have bet no less than $500 on the turn. A bigger turn bet means a lower SPR river shove so the villain might be priced in with his KQs etc.
Why not raise with the KQ hand if we think he's bluffing? folds out worse hands and could even make a strangely played two pair or set fold if we raise to $650, as well as this type of hand or if he's bluffing with low pocket pairs. We do sometimes just spew off to the few flushes in his range but that's very infrequent.
14:55 AHAHAHAAA!! Two pair or an 8 would be betting like 400. AHAHHAAHAAA!! You gotta be able to tell the difference between "The Shovel" and "The Cookie Jar".
I'm sure you mentioned in a previous video you should raise your opponent's bluff, in case he is bluffing with the best hand! Go with your gut, it's correct most of the time 🙂👌
I took a rough beat today. I had Q clubs Q hearts in big blind. It gets raised to $12. (1-2 no limit game) . Another player shoved for 300ish the next player calls for less and I call for my last $75. Flop is K Q 6 all spades and turn and river both are spades. I roll over my set of queens. Both the other players have pocket 10s. I lose to the 10 of spades. Preflop im a big favorite. But that’s been my luck the last couple months
I was there at a $1-3 table near your table. All regulars. I hated how they treated me for my way of playing. Saw you cash out. Did not want to bother you. Hope you had a great time.
Isn't there merit in raising those times you have Khigh and think your opponent is bluffing, but could be doing it with a better hand? I feel like I see that frequently though, which is why it seems so hard to just call down with a high card only.
If you felt he was bluffing, you have to assume that he has a very weak hand as opposed to 'nothing at all'. When all you have is K high, you should have raised it instead of flat calling for the very reason that happened. He could still have you beat with a bluff he would have definitely folded to a re-raise.
225# even for a power clean is a good lift, and snatch is even harder. However, why use all those thin plates when 2x45 on each side is the standard way to get 225?
The Kq hand you worked out he was bluffing.. Really should have raised if you had come to that conclusion… I know it’s easier said than done, but call was worst option of the three
Honest question. If you were so convinced that the guy that beat you with the pair of 3's was bluffing, why wouldn't you just check raise him instead of hero calling since you yourself had nothing but K high? To me, that makes much more since and you probably would of won the pot.
4:57 Straigh draw/flush draw...inside straight draw that is much more difficult to get. 7:59 Drop that piece of Crap immideately, drop it, man! 11:51 You've got air. Simple drop ;))
