Yeah, that playstyle isn't everyone's cup of tea. But if you really like them by just design alone, you really should put some effort into him. No better time to learn a puppet character than on one you like the most.

Man, Chaos is so cool too, and just like you I gravitated to him first for the exact same reasons. But man, Puppet characters are such a pain in the ass. 😆

you can look at other games with the same system - namely skullgirls. That game has top tier netcode in general, but adding delay lets you get decent experiences in 200+ ping environments (Where games like blazblue's rollback break down in my experience)

Strive is good too, connection issues aside. The worst is probably Tekken though, that shit can make Smash Ultimate look stable

Characters that need plinking/piano-ing the inputs are harder on pad.

I've found changing the control scheme to using the triggers as attack buttons to really help me out with this. Really wanted to play Yuzu lol.

There will no doubt be other inexperienced players you can play against when UNI 2 drops. I would also recommend getting used to matching over discord (if you aren't already) to increase the chances of matching up against other newbies when the player count starts dropping.

Man, it feels mixed to have uni called legacy when I'm used to thinking of it as the new kid in the block and old stuff being things like GG. But yeah the first one came out like a decade ago now, so us who have been playing all this time are gonna be somewhat cracked yes lol.

@@Dreikoo ha yea, i'm definitely relatively new to the scene. I find it funny that in Eltnum's arcade story, she constantly references her glory days- which to me nowadays is so much further away than she indicates. It's so cool to see characters like her showing how much fun they had making these doujinshi games back during the grassroots era- and how totally busted and fun they wanted to make these fighting games.

That's the new mechanic called Celestial Vorpal. If you get more than 6 grd blocks you get the whole bar and more buffs than normal vorpal.

@@noctantis I think it gives you like 180 meter if you have it all cause each block is 20 meter but you still would mainly use it to just extend your combo or do a dp or something in the majority of cases, it basically is good about refunding your dp meter so chars without a meterless dp get to feel better about spending their meter on a dp super.

Strive has probably the best rollback of any game right now, just sucks that the lobby is so medicore and the ranked 'system' is whack.

Its made by the same guys that made Type Lumina netcode so itl be aight. Its the first open beta test, and keep in mind retrofitting rollback into a game that is programmed to function on delay is very, VERY hard

In games like these, what determines who has more tourny wins is basically the decision of the strongest player in who to main, more than anything else. Not as much char balance. But yeah Seth's HP is not the issue, it's just hard to be super consistent with him and he is an aggressive char in a defensive game so you have to break the mold in some ways in your approach. What people complain about is when they're just outplayed, if it's Seth that's doing the outplaying, you're really not allowed to play the game at all, but if it's someone else you get more chances to do stuff, so Seth gets more hate for that, but that's the sort of thing I love him for lol.

Chaos has always been good with consistent tournament performances from players like gosuda, not top 5 but a solid middle of the pack character that leans towards the top end of the back. skill issue.

@@imp9292 The same Gosuda who's been playing Seth instead of chaos, and as far as i know was last seen 4 years ago playing Chaos in a tournament that i know of? Most recent "Well performing" Chaos seen in tournament was Snappy in Top 16, and he got bodied by Carmine and Phonon. 2 characters who throw lots of projectiles, and he lost one of his best punishes for them by losing his projectile invul on his prey move. It's not really a skill issue if the man has never even been in the top 5, just got nerfed AND these are all legitimate problems. This on top of most tiers placing his around the B/High C range in CLR. Multiple versions of this game and the man's never had an actual decent mix-up game by puppet standards (Mix-up and actual pressure are two different things), despite having a button that looks like an overhead. Weird that "Assault 2C" is his go-to overhead while having a puppet that you can't really control for low high mix-ups like Carl or Zato, so he depends on staggered pressure and loses to a lot of option selects, and doesn't even have a proper anti-air. Wild you can low block him damn near all game and just be cautious of throws, and you think it's a "Git gud" situation, while everyone who's actually good in this game has actual mix-up with overheads, command grabs and things like that. IDK, maybe instead of trying to default to "Git gud" you should give any solid reason why this, as you basically already said, middle of the pack character, got nerfed, and then didn't really get help from his new moves. Did you even play the guy to sit here and try and talk shit, or do you need to git gud cause you were getting whooped by an even worse version of him during the beta?

No go away, it'll make everyone happier. The people who like the game don't have to deal with grousing from people who aren't invested, and you don't have to play a game you don't like the look of. It's a win win.

it depends if you like the gameplay enough to get over the aesthetic.
