Happy belated #maythe4th everyone! Or Star War's day, whatever you want to call it! I hope you all enjoy, let me know what other builds or videos you'd like to see! D&D, Star Wars, or otherwise! The Saber build from Fate will be up this coming weekend on Sunday, and then we have a Kenpachi Zaraki build! If you'd like a say on what builds and videos come out next, feel free to drop by my Patreon!

Hmmm This is an interesting path to take when creating a force user Its pretty good, ngl Tho ive personally used a sorcerer-paladin when making force users, this does seem to be a good idea as well Imma try to use it in one of my next campaigns, ty

I'm glad you like it! Lots of ways to swing them, I've seen alot of Monk/Wizard combo's too interestingly enough. Hope this build serves you well though!

I’ve always treated Jedi as eldritch knights, using the feats to get spells through Magic Initiate or Fey-Touched

4:05 Thematically, the closest Jedi equivalent are either monks or paladins, though I understand why you chose Warlock.

Thanks for the comment and opinion! Always appreciate different perspectives. I'd never consider them Paladins honestly, but it very much depends on your perspective. There isn't really a 'right' way to do anything in D&D, as every game's lore and background is different. No build anyone makes will be 'thematically' correct for every situation. Since by D&D's very root, no one game is ever the same. Depending on how you view 'The Force' it could be a divine being, a powerful semi-sapient energy, literally just magic from the weave, or ki. I just go with what suits the build best, honestly. In my opinion, the Force would just be magic from the weave in Faerun, separate from gods, because there are actual gods in the world already. So even in my own opinion Warlock may not fit my "lore", but it'd be easy to tweak to fit into the lore of Faerun by making it a powerful semi-sapient being connected to the weave. Nameless and powerful. Suddenly Warlock works. Just kinda however you want to spin it, really.

@@HeartLockHex I see what you mean, but I honestly think the Paladin works very well for at least some Jedi/Sith characters. The CHA casting works thematically in the sense that they have a natural connection to the Force, their Codes could be seen as Sacred Oaths, and I think their Auras could work well as a substitute/corollary for Battle Meditation, them using the Force to bolster their allies. But then again, there are a LOT of ways to build a Jedi/Sith character in D&D. Paladins, Kensei Monks, Warlocks, Wizards, Sorcerers, hell even Psi Knight Fighter

@@fightingfalcon777 Yup! I wasn't arguing the idea that your concept was *wrong*, the opposite in fact. There's many, many ways to build them. I just try to base it on a case by case, and as I continue to build them I'm sure it will shift a bit with each one. Sion was assuredly very different from Revan for instance when I designed him lol. I mixed the divine power of a Zealot with a Warlock's arcane. Lots of potential combinations, honestly.
@fightingfalcon777
@fightingfalcon777 3 года назад
@@HeartLockHex I can definitely see that fitting Sion. Tulok the Barbrarian did something similar for Mace Windu, doing a 15 Zealot Barbarian/5 Hexblade Warlock. Then again, he made Rey a 12 War Magic Wizard/8 Battle Smith Artificer

Personally I think that, much like Revan’s gender, our perception of the abilities they use differs depending on our preference in KotOR. Going by the (“Legends”) Canon version, Revan always struck me as a Jedi Guardian during the Mandalorian wars with lots of “Consular-like” tendencies that eventually led him to develop into a full-time Force caster. My reasoning: Revan during the Mandalorian wars is a very protective and active individual, which is something Jedi Guardians tend to be, and while hungry for Force knowledge, it is undeniable that in this early stage Revan’s main focus was combat. During the wars however, Revan changed: he became cold, calculating, ruthless and was less seen in the battlefield and more in the command deck of his flagship directing the fight. He also became a teacher for the Sith during the Jedi Civil War as Darth Revan and mastered many esoteric abilities that millennia later not even the powerful Dark Lord Darth Bane dared to dabble in. By the time the amnesiac Revan is captured by the Jedi for retraining, I think Revan has now fully developed into a Consular: he prefers strategy over rash action and his downright immense Force potential would give the “novice” trainee all the help he required without the need to build up his skillset again completely from the ground up. Two things that I think supports this analysis is the fact that much of the “Consular” responses align better with the passionate yet strategic Revan, and then there is the fact that in the Revan novel by Drew Karpyshyn, he is depicted wielding a green lightsaber.

Always fun ways to build any character within the universe really! There's tons of ways that you could manipulate and play with any character, Sion is another character I made for Star Wars and he's vastly different since I balance out the lore against the actual mechanics.

@@HeartLockHex also while I have your attention, there's some synergy issues with green flame blade and twf. Short of finding 2 Sun Blades what's a good workaround to achieve a lightsaber effect? All I can think to do is beg my DM to let me cast gfb and allowing it to apply to both sabers ( reskinned scimitars)?? (which comes with balance issues. :/)
@HeartLockHex
@HeartLockHex 3 года назад
@@hazardpay8560 I usually reskin rapiers as sabers since rapiers were very rarely used in real combat and war. But light spell on one would give a similar effect. This build is less to give you two literal lightsabers and just powers similar to Revan. Flametongue or similar magic items would be my primary thought. Or use the bard levels to jab holy weapon instead with magic secrets. That'd work for one at least
