It’s not charging while it’s on either. It’s keeping the controller powered on and giving you the animation that’s it’s charging but if you notice the battery bar will never move past one.
I believe it’s the port itself, I just got off the phone with PlayStation support and the guy had me reset the database so now I have to drain the battery and see if that works. If not he said hopefully there’s a update or I will have to send it in for repair.
My ps5 controllers usb-c charging port broke, it’s an easy fix however not so easy to find the part. If you don’t have the 89.00$ ca to spend on a new controller then you could probably just buy a cheap wireless charging dock.
I think when charging with that front USB it show me charging the controller but it never goes past 2 bars. I then plugged my controller in for 10 minutes in the back and it was then 3 bars fully charged. Could this be a visual glitch that the console doesn't see the controller being at full until plugging it into the back USB?
Same I played last night the controller was showing 2 bars before I turned off the ps5. And tonight when I tried to use the controller it was completely dead so I played with the cable for 3 hours tonight and I have only one bar not even fully charge I don’t get it. I will tried to plug it in the back of the ps5
Hey man, thx for the video. switched to an anker usb c cord and it worked right away. Really weird but no big deal since i have "better" cord but yea hopefully they address it or at least make some sort of comment so people know whats up. thx again. Edit: this got me thinking, people probably already know this but there are 2 different types of USB cables, some only provide power and some provide Data transfer as well. I wonder if this is the issue with the included cable not having the latter capability. I've had an issue before where basic power usb cable would not work with my USB DAC headphone amp, just wouldn't transfer the audio information. Maybe something to do with the Data transfer lacking included usb port no communicating the rest mode somehow to keep charging.
Thank you for the tip is charging with my iPad cord instead I wonder why it’s doing that also can you do a video how to change the background on the PS five
Yea everything was working fine on my ps5 thank god it’s not defective but the charger didn’t worked and then when I switched it was working fine I think the charger is not working right
@@mandh14 same, I’ll have it charging on the front port, Max charge it does is 2 bars and after playing for like 30 mins the controller battery’s is already flashing because it’s dying.
@@lifes2dope what's weird is when I plug into the back, it works. When I plug in a cable to the back and to my A50 headset it works, however the A50 base station will not charge in rest mode. I really don't want to factory reset, it's kinda crazy, I think Sony needs to update the software or something
@@lifes2dope it works plugged in the back port it's just kinda weird how all the ports don't work and the base station doesn't charge at all, oh well 🤷
@@ShmeksNowWat yeah I skimmed through it and didn’t find anything on this specific issue. I use the back ports regularly, but I wanted to make sure it wasn’t the ps5.
