So in this video I give you my initial impressions of the DualSense Edge Controller and then I get into some comparison with the V1 AimController and the do it yourself Extremerate Pro controller. One thing I forgot to get into in this video is the digital shaping for the joy sticks in the system. That is a really nice benefit however when playing a game like Warzone they have that built into the game. It seems if you change it on the controller while having it already changed on the game that it kind makes the system not work right. That or maybe i just have to get used to it. Either way I ended up changing my right stick back to default settings.
I hope you all enjoy this video and it helps you on making a decision when buying a pro controller. The biggest 2 advantages in my opinion over all the competition is the fact that you can revert this controller basically back to stock where you’ll still have the adaptive triggers and then because of the easy way to fix it if you end up with stick drift. You can then just change out the stick module. So that is about it. Have a great day and thanks for watching. Please like this video and subscribe because it will help this channel grow.

For me personally Edge it's "for the win" Full software support, adaptive trigger, instant trigger, removable sticks module, I like very much in software you can see death zone set to 0, cable USB long for better response and no lag, I choose Edge above Scuff, Aim or Razer V2 Pro . Razer V2 Pro it's number 1 on battery life 28 hours but not support haptic feedback.

I really like the controller. I’ve noticed on my left trigger (L2) that there is a little clicking sound for some reason so hopefully nothing is wrong internally. Don’t have the same clicking on the right. I do miss having the 2 extra (4 total) back buttons but I’m getting used to it. The battery life really does suck. But as an overall pro controller for the average player I think it will be great. The only one I think that will be better is the AimController that they have on their kick starter. It is basically the same exact thing with the addition of the 2 more back paddles. Although you lose the ability to change out the sticks. It is only a matter of time before someone makes better stick modules for the PS5 Dualsense Edge controller.

As of right now, I'd say Aimcontroller is the best ps5 controller you can get by far. The one on the video is an older version, not sure if it has V1 or V2 paddles. The newest one is by default rocking the best triggerstops on the market, switchable snap panels and the V3 paddle design. Right now, they are also offering hall effects. I'd say, you can maybe get better or more comfortable paddle design at other premium controller sellers, but in terms of features and customization, Aim is king.

I’m actually having an issue with a new AimController I ordered. It came and the left thumb stick kept sticking in the down position. So I sent it back for a warranty repair. While they had it the Hall effect sticks came out so I paid the extra to get them installed while in for the repair. They sent it back and it worked great for two days and then the stick started sticking in the down position again. I noticed that their anti friction rings seems cheap and thin and seemed to be wearing down super fast. I’m wondering if that’s the issue. Still waiting to get it back the second time from repair.

@@bleedsblue05esk8 interesting. So I had mine for a year and a half and had 0 problems whatsoever. It's a 10/10 controller for me and the obly thing that worn down was the paint on the paddles. Otherwise it still looks like brand new, while my stock dualsense looks like it went through hell and back with around same amout of play time. And now that they are offering hall effect, that's basically all I ever wanted in a controller. I'd probably try to solder some hall effects on the current one myself if they weren't offering them. And thank god for that, since I hate and suck at soldering.

@@etceterax144 I don’t mind soldering. It’s the de-soldering that I am not very good at. Hopefully when I get it back this time, I will have no issues. This will be my second one. I had to V1 and the joystick ended up going bad on me.I ended up fixing it myself and then the other joystick went so I just gave up on it. That’s when I made an extreme rate controller. So far the extreme rate controller is the only one I’ve had no issues with.

Appreciate the review and insights. The soddering on the extremerate is actually for the TouchPad and l3 and r3 joystick clicks. Hitting those while aiming or making precision movements is obviously going to be sloppy. As you increase pressure for the actuation and attempt managing accurate stick movement you're also distracted from the play at hand trying to juggle. You This also grinds up your stick and before long it's covered in white plastic dust residue as it dies. So do I learn how to solder neatly enough to not mess up the controller for 2 - 4 paddles (for 40$ and the cost of a new dualsense if I goob it) or 200$ for the smaller 2 paddle edge with half the battery. 🤔

There is zero soldering if you don’t map the track pad to the back. I didn’t solder anything on the Extremerate controller since I didn’t need to map the touch/track pad or the triggers to the back button. Which makes it super easy. Also I e recently upgraded the back to the metal paddle and buttons and it’s still going strong as my main controller. I’d suggest Extremerate all day when it comes to the PS5. Easy upgrade and better battery life.

The lock is to keep from damaging cord. You shouldn't be walking off with it plugged in anyways

Extremerate has metal back buttons bro. I had to get them because one of my plastic back buttons bent to the point of not “clicking” anymore.

They didn’t have them in the 4 button when I built mine. Should have looked before my review. Thanks for letting me know.

I really wish they did 4 back buttons. The only negative I’d say I have against it. I’ve been good with the battery life despite it being a lot less.
