Classic, 9/10 for me. I like previous years Endless Pain a touch more, PtK is awesome but sounds they play a bit fast for their own good in places,if you know what I mean.
@@saquarenadothat's not teutonic... that said teutonic technically doesn't just mean germany but rather a vague area of former germania, so either way I would argue you can replace Tankard with any of the better Swiss or Belgian bands.
Seen them live a few times. Last time was last year when they opened for Mercyful Fate. They are always great live. When they bust this one out they get the crowed hyped by screaming "ARE YOU READY TO KILL EACH OTHER?!" Followed by Millie saying over and over "PLEASURE TO..." and the crowd screaming "KILL!!!" Until finally those drums kick in and everyone loses their minds. So much fun!
reign in blood has better songwriting while having the same brutal intensity as pleasure to kill. i love both bands and albums though, reign in blood just has the edge for me in a direct comparison.
@@Flugmorphthis is heavier than what slayer ever did. Slayer never grunted or screamed, just yells and rob halford-style screams here and there in their early years. Slayer did have heavy guitar work tho not gonna lie. Heaviest albums? Repulsions debute, Wehrmacht debute, cryptic slaughters debute morbid - vision, necronomicon - self titled all 1986 extremest.
Kreator and Sodom are both from the same region in Germany (the "Ruhrgebiet" in the most west German state of Nordrhein Westfalen). There was a real scene here with a few other speed and thrash bands.
It's a pioneer of extreme metal. I'll never forget hearing the opening riffs of "Ripping Corpse" for the first time... 😱But their post 2000 albums are great as well. They sound more like melodeath than extreme thrash but still worth your time.
More German thrash: 1. Destruction - Life Without Sense (Live Without Sense DVD 1990) 2. Kreator - Toxic Trace 3. Tankard - The Morning After 4. Vendetta - Brain Damage 5. Living Death - Natures Death 6. Melong Delta - True Lies 7. Holy Moses - Rest In Pain 8. Sieges Even - David 9. Assassin - Abstract War 10. Accu§er - Master of Disaster
This album was heavily inspired by Possessed - "Seven Churches" which is considered to be the first death metal album in case you didnt know. Kreator did change their styles of music ALOT throughout their career so you can't really put their albums in one bag. Sodom on the other hand started as black metal band and then started doing thrash with black metal elements for their whole career. Both bands definitely have their highs and lows but for the most part, they both kick ass
Their first album(endless pain) came in the early 80s and is still my favourite. Kreator and Sodom are two legendary German thrash metal bands that can entirely knock out the big 4 from the window
Oh yes, my number 2 from the Teutonic 4...Kreator is a big deal for over 40 years. I hope my number 1 from the Teutonic 4, Destruction with 15 Albums, is soon on your channel here, especially their album "Infernal Overkill" 🤘 Greets from Germany 🤘
Kreator and Sodom had massive impact not only in the thrash metal scene but they played a huge role in the creation of the Death metal and even Black metal scene. Respect both Legendary bands and enjoyed your review.
Kreator and Sodom are both part of the "Teutonic Big Four of Thrash" of basically German big 4 for the early Thrash scene of the 80's. The other two being Destruction and Tankard. All have some fantastic material worth checking out. Kreator and Destruction both had their, own unique experimental albums in the 90's, before return to thrash in the 2000's. For Kreator though, I'd say their first 5 albums are essential listens for anybody doing a deep dive into Thrash metal. May I also suggest, on the American side, some Dark Angel. Only 4 albums. Two different singers from the first two, to the last two.
I want to add my 2 cents here. I got into thrash metal in 1985. The only way we could hear about bands from Europe were from the local metal and punk music store, which had the latest and most extreme metal. Also there were 2 magazines we used to buy, "Hit Parader" and Circus magazine, which were all about metal and hard rock. So we heard about Kreator and Sodom through those magazines. We had never heard of any association between the two bands back then. We didn't even know Sodom was from Germany. The ads never really mentioned their country of origin. We knew that Kreator was cool through the imagery of their live album that was advertized in one of their magazines; the album was called "Out of the Dark, into the Light". So I bought their latest album around that time "Extreme Aggression". Kreator came to that record store where I bought the album. They all signed their autographs on an album sized copy of the album cover (a square piece of cardboard). They played that night if I recall correctly but we didn't get to go. Anyway, we knew all their previous releases were good, just judging by the album covers and titles (Endless Pain, Flag of Hate EP, etc). Anyhow, I started attending a Southern Baptist church the year after I met Kreator. The youth pastor convinced me that metal music was of the devil and that I needed to throw away my metal records. I threw away only the ones I thought were undeniably devilish. So I started to avoid "secular music" and metal music in general if it wasn't sold in the Christian bookstore. I did "come back to metal" though. You should check out Destruction, another German metal band. I don't know if they would call themselves thrash metal but they're so freakin' metal! My sister in law says you're awesome by the way Imakaiya. Cheers! Muah!
Razor - Hypertension you will hear the craziest screams in thrash metal thats ever recorded. Like cradle of filth level screams in 80s thrash and the heavyness is comparable to slayer and sodom. Check it out😊
Saw these guys a few weeks ago with Death Angel and Sepultura and they were incredible. After this album they became more melodic and groovy, this album is more Death Metal. Such a huge catalog of amazing albums, Just skip the '92-'99 releases. The new ones since 2001 have been great.
Great stuff. Listen to all the newer stuff. These guys are still kicking ass and better than ever. These guys are awesome musicians. Kreator is one of the best Thrash Metal bands ever to grace the genre.
from the "old" German thrash metal, from the same time as Kreator and Sodom there was also Destruction and I indicate this one that he announces in the show as "the return to 1983" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JNGIlrlalh0.html
Fucking legendary, one of the dirtiest and purest thrash metal albums ever made and in my opinion it’s top5 together with Reign in Blood, Darkness Descends, Beneath the Remains and Kill’ Em All
Hi Kaiya. It gets much better than this. Here's 3 more awesome Kreator songs for your consideration: Kreator - Phobia (Official) | Kreator - Hordes Of Chaos (Official) | Kreator - People Of The Lie (Official)
An awesome reaction Kaiya! Kreator are certainly one of the biggest names. That being said, I don't think they could touch Sodom, in style and creativity. It's just that their speed and anger tended to blend together and repeated in every song.
Please do a review of Discharge, The Final Bloodbath. This is undoubtedly the Heaviest song of all time. Anthrax and Metallica secretly worshipped them. As do Sepultura. Nothing heavier or more aggressive.
The Heaviest Brutal Song ever In Thrash Metal, I would Suggest Destruction after Next, You Could Also Listen to Kreator's Cleaner Production Materials, especially their new albums But these Old School Of theirs were the Coolest One's☺.
I am glad you will check out violent revalotion, i prefer it. This album is from 1986, and it is not their best work, in my opinion. They progressed so much later. They must have been around 19 years old in pleasure to kill. Modern kreator is a completely different band now. It's like Death scream bloody gore vs sound of perseverance.
Pretty sloppy thrash metal album, not bad, but sloppy. Kreator is a good band, but i don't like all their stuff. Theyre hit or miss for me. I do like Extreme Aggression, that's my favorite that ive heard from Kreator. I rarely listen to these guys. Sodom and Destruction are much better.
The sloppiness is one of the main attributes of the early German thrash scene, it's much rawer and pure aggression, it feels totally out of control, and it's a breath of fresh air after listening to ultra clean/tight American thrash.
@@TheMetalWarrior1993 they play tighter but that doesn't make them "superior". Sodom was just as sloppy - if not more - as Kreator yet you seem to like them. I'd take the sheer ferocity of early Kreator over Destruction any day of the week, none is "superior" to the other, they have different strengths, that's what make it interesting, who wants all thrash to sound like Metallica or Megadeth? Certainly not me!
@@g-man4744 Sodom is heavier than Kreator. Listen to their album Tapping The Vein and it's obvious. Sodom to me has an overall better sound. Sodom and Destruction are probably my favorite German thrash bands. Assassin is pretty good too.
@@g-man4744 Even in the later Kreator albums with cleaner sounding production, and where they matured I'm just not that much into their stuff. I even saw them with Mercyful Fate live in October and they were just ok. MF killed it, no surprise there.
