Hi Allen I’d like to thank you for showing me through one of your enlightening videos on getting heating to both rads in my diner. I removed the TRVs and tapped- not pulled up- the pin. This released (whatever) allowing the water to flow through the TRV.

Ah Thank you so much, It always baffled me how the the hot water taps and the and central heating used the same tank without conflicting. Great video.

Well i am now 50 and still love to learn a bit more,, in the plandemic i changed the complete ball cock in the main header tank as after a bit of youtube found this was simpler than changing the washer n seal as it started dripping, cost me i think £12 all in! i have been n brought a new jacuzzi bath thing as we have a special needs daughter, i was intending to find out how to drain the hot water to change the taps, (cold is simple to do) now not only am i 100% sure i can do it and fit everything but i now know how the whole heating system works! (Gas is not for me so not even going to look). thank you loads.

great well explained video, am i right in thinking to change the diverter valve do you, turn of the water supply, drain central heating, no need to drain the hot water, my system has 2 tanks in loft, big and small and all cold water is from the mains supply, any advise please, thanks mate

Hey Allen. Thanks for this video. It helped me figure out my basic home water flow. Can I ask a question please, I have developed a bout of severe water hammer, which starts after a few seconds after when any of my hot taps are turned on, but it causes the hammer only in the cold piping! Turning the cold tap on on the bath is the only thing that stops it. The bath is the end of the chain of my cold system I believe. I understand about the concept of water not compressing, but I can't figure where the fault lies. The only common valve would be the top tank ball cock. But i can't figure out why the bathroom indirect cold taps do not trigger the hammer too? Could a top tank root cause be possible? Any thoughts appreciated.
