This requires some serious thought and study. Watching RL videos is fine 😅 working it all out yourself is a lot tougher.😢 Thx for producing video of an indepth subject. OFC having two pilots helps in RL 😂. Understanding all the relevant data on the OFP is a tough job too
There are times where we need to look into the books again every now and then in the real world as well. Especially local procetures, such as the Oceanic Transition Areas, or areas where you don't fly that often, such as the North Pole or Canadian Northern Domestic Airspace in my airlines ops, usually require a bit of reading.
@@A330Driver I’m trying do this all by the book but it’s becoming difficult. I’m looking forward to the oceanic tracks video if doing one I’m getting confused how they get updated in real life and how this is implemented in Simbrief. I see the tracks on Simbrief map but don’t know how they are implemented or u-dated in Simbrief. I suppose that’s a question for Navigraph. Thx for your effort I keep at it I’m ok with the nav points entered as N/E etc but the tracks I’m stumped
Wait till you here about Canada's Alternate Minimums, sounds similar to the US. If there is 1 PA (ILS) , you need a 600Ft Ceiling and 2 SM ..... OR +300ft and +1 SM above the Lowest USABLE charted minimums and go with the high of either or (eg. you can have a 600ft minimum ceiling but a 2.5 SM minimum visibility). There is also another catch to it aswell... sliding scale! , you end up needing the standard minimums, you can opt to increase ceiling minimums by taking 0.5 SM. For example, if i calculated I needed 600ft and 2SM for the alternate and the forecast weather says 1.5SM, i must have a ceiling of 700ft agl or higher to use it as an eligible alternate. I swear instrument rating ground school when I first took it hurts my head lmao
Can you explain me what is your setting into simbrief when you're creating your flightplan to have somes suggested airport for ETOPS. When i press calculate in simbrief, got a red message who said no etops require for that plan, but this is a flight over atlantic... I understand what is a ETOPS airport, what i need... but i have some difficulty to choice the right one for my flightplan and i get a little bit lost in that. I watched your other video on how prepare long haul flight, but i'm always lost and don't know what airport to select for my ETOPS...
i flew from Singapur to zurich and between singapur and india I got ETOPS but the diversion to my entry airpirt was set to 706 miles from simbrief and you said normally 410 miles can I changed that anywhere?
Yup, I think he neglected to explain the ETP (Equal Time Point). Put simply, if you have a failure requiring a diversion prior to the ETP, you would normally turn around because the ETOPS alternate behind you is the closer airport. Once you cross the ETP, you would continue on to the next ETOPS alternate because it's closer.

@@fortel7939 the companies in my country offer that for full time European flights. It’s quite normal here. As a first year you already start with 150k a year as FO at a low cost airline here. Anyway, I find it so cringe that someone who will never have to worry about money, can buy multiple houses and drive the newest audi s8, newest Mercedes Maybach etc, but homie is still asking for donations in his bio
1) You have no idea about airline pilot salaries 2) And that salary I get from my airline pays for what I do at the airline, not for anything else, certainly not for writing books about computer games. 3) You’re welcome to live without the book if you don’t want to buy it.
