I was torn between this and the Smith Mainline. Ended up going Mainline for the perceived ventilation advantages for longer pedals and SoCal heat. Really wanted to get the POC though, love their stuff. Great reviews on both btw!

You can't really go wrong with either. The Mainline is going to cool better than the POC due to the venting. Thanks for watching!

Just picked mine up today. almost bought a fox proframe but its only rated for single impact... i'm sorry but if I crash once and have to replace a helmet that expensive i'm not going to be happy. For this reason alone i went with the POC. Feels comfy and looks great. Simple not flashy but still steezy. Stoked to hit the trails with it. P.S great review.. cheers from Vernon, BC !

@@Error-hc7mp I'm pretty happy with it man . There's definitely helmets out there with a little better ventilation I think but I didn't have a problem. I always take my helmet off in the bike park line ups anyway . Riding was more than sufficient ventilation tho .. probably wouldn't be a good peddling helmet like a fox rampage but its way more durable . I'd recommend it if you're looking to buy !

Hi, thanks for the great reviews on this and the Mainline. I just had both ff helmets delivered to me, and I'm deciding between the two. Do you think that both helmets are safe enough for bike parks/DH riding? I know they are both DH rated. Also, if you had to choose one for bike parks/DH, which would you choose? Thanks!

Hey, other question for you, do you find that those white goggle gives you more reflection inside? Was thinking about buying those myself but I've started to notice this issue in other goggles... like a car dashboard. You get more reflection on your windshield with lighter dashboards vs those with darker dashboards. So that inner color of the goggle is what reflects on the lends from the inside. Just curious on your thoughts.
@Bike198

They are wide enough that it doesn't happen. I don't notice the color at all. I do run the clear lenses though because we ride in so much tree cover.

I haven't tried their helmeets yet, but I do ride with their JOINT VDP2.0 DH pads. and Like them a lot, I did a review on them, which is on my website. great coverage, great side coverage, overlapping pads at the joints. but they are warm, sweaty, so in midsummer I get soaked in sweat and it feels like standing near an oven.

Hi, considering that I am buying a new helmet, which I would wear for 5 hours, will a POC be a good choice, there are high temperatures here during the summer. I really like the POC, because of the comfort and protection above all, but given the long rides that won’t be downhill (moustly in the woods) , is that a good choice? So at like 2:09 you put the helmet on and it looks like your face is squished and turns red as if blood flow is restricted.... I just got mine like 2 days ago and feel like my face looks similar when I put it on and feel like the front of the cheek pads has a bit of pressure towards my mouth (new to full face but thinking this isn’t fitting right) and I also see a bit of redness in my face from it. Wondering if wearing it has loosened up those pads some or if you know if there’s any way to adjust them. Been enjoying your recent videos. Keep it up.

It is a little tight on the checks at first. They do break in some and they do on the ride as well. That keeps the helmet really secure on your head. Have you tried it on a ride yet?

@@Bike198 Not yet. Was trying to decide to give it a whirl or send it back. I appreciate your feedback on the cheek pads. Having seen some guys both first hand and online have some bad hits and receive concussions, even when wearing DH rated lighter weight ff helmets, I'd rather deal with the sweat and have one that really protects. Having lived in Augusta, GA and now Asheville, NC, I feel like I can wear this one most days all year, but I can't image wearing this in GA from April through October.

6:34 you are doing the D ring buckle thing wrong, there is no reason to fiddle with it, to take the strap out of the rings, just loosen it and take the helmet off. for me it's not a problem at all. but one handed use is a better experience on the plastic buckle for sure. but a negative is that it can go out of adjustment easy, at least on most buckles it does, how is this buckle? do I have to sew the strap for it to not go out of adjustment?
@Bike198
@Bike198 3 года назад
Johannes, for me it is more about getting back on that takes so long. You have to fish it back through. I didn't have any slipping issues out of the POC strap. They use a really high quality, thick strap which I find helps a lot. When manufacturers use thinner straps...they do come out of adjustment easily I have found as well.

@@Bike198 thx, sounds promising.
@mtbboy1993
@mtbboy1993 3 года назад
@@Bike198 of course it will be harder if you pull the strap out of the rings, it's unnecessary, I just loosen it enough to take the helmet off, that should not be a problem, but I see some helmets have a extra long strap so you can get it really loose. For something Enduro/DH oriented - definitely POC or Leatt. There's been a report that one guy used Proframe for DH and when he had a crash - the chin bar pivots broke right into his neck. Also its polycarbonate shell is so thin to get its "ultra-lightweight" marketing thing i doubt it protects from anything at all.
