This is a method we enjoy because we do not have to put so much stress on the film. This technique really works well with ceramic film and HP films. Dyed films usually heat too rapidly for this technique to work like you see on the video. We are using our Panaflex 70 for this video. It is a ceramic film.

That approach works real good on some ceramics which are prone to ghosting.

I have been tinting for about 20 yrs and use a torch, but this is really cool. Thanks alot....I watched your video about the torches and it allowed me to tint really hard BG like vettes and bugs in about 5 min. to heat out, the bigger the finger the easier it is to heat out....I work for Cruiser Tint and Audio in Tyler Tx. I will be in touch with you soon about some film!!!!!!!

Can anyone show me a video on how to cut the rear view mirror hole in the tint?it seems impossible to do it by hand to me because there is no black glass around that part on the windshield, its just that metal thing glued on the glass. Thanks

Excellent demonstration. Is pocket shrinking the preferred method for getting rid of fingers?

When the dot matrix isnt very wide, around 1/4 inch it doesnt pose any problems, only when its very wide, like the top of back windows when its approx 8" or so. In my opinion, corvette rear wi)dows are much harder to shrink than the bug rear windows, but everyone is different

The issue I've had with pocket shrinking on certain films is the heat gun drying out the water/soap and then the finger won't glide across the glass ...

Only thing I don't like is how you hold the pointer finger on top of the knife ... Pointer finger and thumb on each side of the knife with the pinky or ring finger pulling tension puts the knife at a more parallel position to the glass and makes it less likely to etch..
