Pogačar Wins Prati di Tivo on Energy-Saving Mode | Giro d'Italia Stage 8 2024

Tadej Pogačar and UAE Team Emirates played it safe on the Prati di Tivo stage, easily controlling the strong breakaway and the final climb. Pogačar marked the moves in the final two kilometres and did not attack, instead opting to win the bunch sprint at the end. Thymen Arensman, Antonio Tiberi and Michael Storer tried to attack but without success. Giro d'Italia stage 8 2024

One way to make GTs 'shorter', make sprint stages more exciting whilst also keeping sprints stages in GTs: cut out 100-150kms of flat and make sprint stages 50kms then have two on the same day.

A Giro field minus all the other elite riders, is Little League competition for Tadej. We all saw what happened in the 2023 TdF Stage 16 TT, he's not facing anywhere near that caliber of competition. If Tadej doesn't crash, he should win the Giro by at least 10 minutes, and at least 4 more stages. Jonas is the only rider I have seen that puts any sort of fear into Tadej, hopefully he's back at close to 100% by TdF so we can see a fair competition.

Couldn't the change in bmi probably be caused due to overall less TT km's in modern GT's?

Tadej has only two opponent: Van der Poel in some classics and Jonas in grand tours... for now, he's too young, only 25, he will continue to improve for at least 2-3 years more.

He might have reached his peak already. It is so hard to improve but that's still possible at his age. His palmares at the end of career will be so cooked

@@WattPolice Observe his legs: only this year started to have the muscles legs a little more defined. Until about middle 2023 he still had junior legs.
