Yes Patrick was very talented. He had a song that hit number three on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number one on the Adult Contemporary chart and was a trained ballet dancer on top of being an actor.

As a guy born in the 70s, grew up in the 80s, reached young adulthood in the middle 90s.. this, THIS is one of many movies I wish the current scene of reaction channels would feature.

There used to be a show here in L.A. called Point Break Live where they basically did a Rocky Horror style shadow casting of the movie with live performers. Every show, they’d pick someone to be Johnny Utah from the audience and they’d bumble through the performance while everyone around them knew what was going on. It was AWESOME and a lot of fun. Even suspended people from the ceiling for the skydiving bit. Just wild!

My all time favourite movie! Lost count how many times I've seen it. I own the film on DVD and BluRay and apparently the film is about to get a 4K Ultra version, I'm so hyped to get that.

Useless trivia- Anthony Kiedis, the singer of Red Hot Chili Peppers has a small part in this. One of the bad surfers beating Johnny up at the beach. He was a California surfer in real life.

Fast and the Furious borrowed (ripped off?) the same premise. Undercover cop infiltrates a street racing gang that robs lorries and bonds with the gang members. Let's the bad guy Dom, escape at the end of the film.

I’ve never understood how Johnny didn’t get discovered in this movie because he uses his real name when he goes undercover which just seems really stupid to me; not to mention that he actually goes on the raid with the other agents he should’ve made up a fake story and name, or at the very least not participated in the raid.
