It's pretty common for shore companies with boardwalks or beach access to have light and maneuverable apparatus to get to the ocean-side exposure. Large resort towns, like Ocean City MD, have hydrants that can be sleeved on the boardwalk. One job that nobody gets in front of can take blocks and blocks of arcades, rides, bungalows & stores.
+Justin Boyd Nothing, the operator noticed when they got on scene the switch was flipped in the "off" position. Seems to be a common Pierce issue. It happens. At Least most of the lights were on.
When watching this video I came to the conclusion that the citizens of Point Pleasant need to learn that EMERGENCY VEHICLES HAVE THE RIGHT OF WAY and people need to stop pulling out in front of them as they come down the street and pull over out of the way a lot sooner!!!
+jlu2992 It really is the tourist community that needs to learn to pay attention to the road. I've worked there for 6 years now and it always surprises me how people just blow traffic lights [there are no turn on red signs at some intersections] and damn near run people over who are in the cross walks.
I don't care if it's a tourist community or not!! EMERGENCY VEHICLES HAVE THE RIGHT OF WAY and people need to get out of their way when they are coming. My DAD was a fire fighter for 26 and 1/2 years. I KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT!! All of the people - the tourists and residents! NEED TO GET OUT OF THE WAY OF EMERGENCY VEHICLES!!
jlu2992 it's the tourists that need to learn, not the residents of point beach. I've worked here for 6 years now and during the winter emergency vehicles are treated as such.
+Scotty Jones Fire was contained to a pile of stuffed animals in the basement. Cause was deemed electrical due to a lamp malfunction, however fire spread was halted thanks to fire sprinklers.
I noticed the Point rigs have a green warning beacon on the right front (starboard) quarter, very nautical, I didn't realize there were departments other than Chicago that did that.
I VOLUNTEERED THERE IN THE BEACH STARTING IN 1964--I WENT PAID UP NORTH--BUT THE SIREN AND RECORDED HORN STILL WAKES ME UP WHEN I AM HOME. Always great to see the BEACH in action
RESCUE 18 Seaside Park’s siren on the water tower 12 &. Barnaget Would go off 1 blast everyday at noon and I believe cycled 10 times during a fire call it was on my side of the house too

Yes since it's a heavily populated boating community and has a major inlet from the Atlantic Ocean they have green lights on the front right just like a boat would.
What a storm that was---I live on the ocean and my house was GONE---BUT---I REBUILT AND I AM IMPRESSED BY HOW MUCH THE AREA HAS CAME BACK FROM THE DISASTER. I HAD TO WORK UP NORTH--COULD NOT GET HOME---when I did---there was nothing.
+Casey Fury O ok thanks i thought they had to be someones. I was when did 43 get that big rescue but then i saw the back of it and it had a different symbol and was wondering who's it was but thanks for the heads up on who's it was
Imagine--during Hurricane Sandy, that very same street inundated with three feet of salt water and tons of sand. Ruined almost every piece of fire apparatus---most all of it replaced with new equipment.
fireems6231 not sure where it heard that but most of the department with the exception of 4201 and 4303 the rest of the rigs where there before and after sandy, although I'm not sure what equipment they lost they definitely still have these rigs today
YEAH--these are recent videos--Sandy was 4 years ago---Ocean number one has new stuff--what you see on this video is new-----Company 2 lost the Seagrave--now up in Andy Leider's barn collection The Boro has new stuff too----remember--it takes a long time to start the replacement process
fireems6231 yeah I'm aware of the boro's new rigs and the beach getting rid of the seagrave. I didn't know the seagrave was lost in sandy so thanks for the info, what I was originally trying to say was 4211, 4301, 4305 were all there before and after he storm I didn't want any viewers to think that sta 42,43 lost all their rigs but thanks for the info!
Ehhh I wouldn't say sad I would instead label it as excited, lol. I am from the USA and I do agree I'm not sure why there was a lower sounding pitch with the first ladder truck
