My favorites are usually in Pokémarts, I think there’s only one that gives you like a TM or something, otherwise they just say useless information like “dang I love burn heal.” As if they use it on the daily. Imagine seeing someone in a pharmacy going “hot dog I love neosporin.”

If I remember correctly the hotel had a glitch in Red/Blue where you could access the PC in the corner and this glitch was corrected in yellow.

Funfact about the hotel: The developers just took a pokecenter and swaped out the nurse. But they forgot to take out the PC, so there's an invisible PC in the corner that you can interact with!

I kind of thought there would have been more pointless NPCs. As far as what someone thought about Wigglytuff vs Jigglypuff sprite while playing the games when they came out, I think most people knew that only a few sprites were used to encompasse all of the Pokémon. Especially if people caught a lot of Pokémon, the game already showed you that most flying types shared the same sprite, as the same with water Pokémon, and other typings.

Could Erik and Sara be a reference to Dragon Quest 1? There's two NPCs that had a communication error, so one is in the top right corner of a town, and the other is in the bottom left of the town. They're supposed to be going on a date but can't find the other one.

a bit more context on Erik and Sara: the original was a bit of a japanese joke, Sara/atsuko said she told him "let's go CATCH (tori) some pokemon" implying go to the safari zone but Erik(Koji) misunderstood what she meant and is saying "Atsuko wanted to meet by the bird (tori) pokemon but I don't see any bird pokemon here!"

That one dude with a Machop who's breaking ground. He does absolutely nothing in the original RBY, the remakes, original GSC, the remakes, or let's go. Seriously, how long is that building taking?

I've come to that point in my life when I used to watch Brandon's older videos back in 2013/2014 and remembered him sounding excited (like myself at that time) to sounding like his soul has been crushed away (like myself at this current time).

In regard to the cherry pie girl on the SS Anne, your out of battle character sprite looks a lot like "le waiter" that is strolling about in the hallway outside her cabin, and that's why she confuses you with said waiter. That's the gag.

i think the hotel is there because the people who made it didnt know there were Pokecenters yet and the games were going to use hotels to heal.

I don’t think the wigglytuff thing would have been that confusing for kids at the time since the game only has a handful of overworld sprites and all the party sprites already look wacky.

I really enjoyed the video

The wheres NPc 1/NPC2 is a common rpg trope ive seen in many games but the fact that they were 2 pivitol game freak members makes this so much more important i wonder if its the first instance other games copied? The hotel is more interesting. In older Capumon concept art and versions of the game it was planned you would visit hotels rather than pokemon centres. This perticular hotel has a secret pc where you would find one in pokemon centre. Its possible they just changed the sprite to a floor tile. Or maybe they just copy pasted the pokemon center when making the hotel

In the hotel its invisible but you can access your storage PC from there. I am assuming this was a area ment to be used but scrapped

I mean, not totally pointless. They kind of fill the world. But other than that…yeah. About the celadon hotel, though, I do think that was originally intended to have a purpose other than making the world feel fuller. I read somewhere that Pokémon Centers were originally all going to be hotels. And if you press the A button in a certain spot, you can access the PC. There’s like an invisible PC there. There’s no sprite, but the code for the PC is there. So this was probably going to be where he would heal your Pokémon, but they just didn’t remove it from the game entirely like they did all the others for some reason.

I feel like you're overthinking the Wigglytuff. Gen I had like twelve overworld sprites for Pokémon.

Have you even played original red/blue? If you had you would known that there were only a few pokemon sprites. For example one sprite was used for almost every bug pokemon. And you expected to have different sprite for wiglytuff?
