How did metronome use transform? All the posts I've seen in gen 2 it is not one of the possible moves. I have a shiny clefairy in crystal I'm currently trying this.
@@justinclarke1215 This move selects and uses a random move. However, it cannot use the moves; Assist, Chatter, Copycat, Counter, Covet, Destiny Bond, Detect, Endure, Feint, Focus Punch, Follow Me, Helping Hand, Me First, Metronome, Mimic, Mirror Coat, Mirror Move, Protect, Quick Guard, Sketch, Sleep Talk, Snatch, Struggle, Switcheroo, Thief, Trick, or Wide Guard I got it from serebii Gen 2 description, also I confirm that metronome can use transform, because I already got the ditto,
@@DimenticatoPianto thanks for the info. I've been seeing a couple vids of people using metronome only and you're right. I'm just on that grind right now
In theory if you got the shiny smoochum or tyrouge you could evolve it and trade it to gen 1 then teach it metronome and trade it back and do the same thing. I may try that with my Jynx
At that point its easier to get shiny Ditto with the Gen 1 Mimic trick, where you mimic Ditto's Transform with Shiny Gyarados (Mimic is a TM in gen 1) and then have a ditto copy Transform back off of you after Mimicking it and then catching it there, because the same Shiny DV copying logic happens in Gen 1
I have a question, if using transform twice to permanently alter the IVs works in gen 2, then why does the traditional red gyarados mimic method need to be done in gen 1? EDIT: Never mind, I realized it’s because mimic was changed in gen 2 to never copy transform
If I recall correctly, that's because Gyarados can not learn Mimic in gen 2, so you have to trade it in gen 1 first, and yeah also the fact that it can not mimic Transform now that I checked on Bulbapedia
As I mentioned in the description, I used a cheat to get that Clefairy with 4 Metronomes, just to be faster (the transfomed ditto has only 5 PP so I decided to give it 4 Metronomes when transforming). This glitch is doable anyway with no cheats.
I know this is an extremely late question, but is it possible to glitch a trade pokemon npc ID onto a ditto and also make the ditto shiny? Or is there a glitch to change pokemon ID numbers?
Never too late, I am always here! I am sorry, but what do you exactly mean by ''trade pokemon npc ID''? I am not that practical, either with english or glitches ahah. About the second question, I've never heard of such a glitch, maybe there is considering how strange these games can be sometimes. I'll look up
@@CEOofFS l meant like how Shickies ID is different from the players ID, is it possible to make a mesuda ditto, since it is technically a different ID number?
@@cainabelsaya oh, so you mean obtaining a Ditto who is a "stranger", so a Masuda one? Yeah so with a different ID. It's exactly what I looked up this morning, but sadly I didn' find anything, but I might have not looked deep enough. I am not a glitch expert so I don't usually make researches by myself, but maybe tomorrow I'll look again on some sites that are known to be full of information
@@CEOofFS OK, thank you, I will be trying to get my crystal version set up with all the items to try this glitch for ditto anyways, I have only done a few small glitches in pokemon yellow before
Okay so. Before performing this glitch, I made my researches. I swear, I read that Metronome could pick Transform. I looked up on Bulbapedia and you're right, it says it can't be picked. I am not here to say Bulba is wrong, but I can't even say that what I did is fake. I also found a video where this happens: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iE_trtm6rQM.htmlsi=jLClBtEjPnaA_34m Metronome picks Transform. It's not like they "update" gen 2 games. On another bulbapedia page (i'll link it) it says: "In both Generations I and II, the move Metronome has a slim chance of calling Transform as well. This can be used to perform this glitch." Link of said page where you can find this: m.bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/List_of_Transform_glitches#:~:text=Alternatively%2C%20a%20Pok%C3%A9mon%20with%20Metronome,Gengar%2C%20Golem%2C%20etc.) It doesn't make any sense that an older bulbapedia page says one thing and suddenly another page gets updated and says something else, they wouldn't have written that in the first place if it wasn't true.
That's honestly really interesting, they really should update that page at some point. I'm so glad you did your research thoroughly. I'm trying to perform your glitch rn by chain-shiny breeding all the way from Gyarados to Clefairy so I'm really hoping I can pull this off lmao
Sorry for replying late, just saw this. As I mentioned in the description, the graveler is of course "hacked" (I used some cheat codes to make him like that) but I did that so that this test could be faster, but it's perfectly doable in a normal game without any cheats. Any other clearance is in the description.
@@CEOofFS yeah I found outbagtef going through the comments section. Smart idea. I unfortunately have no such resource, so will have to do it the hard way, or wait until I get to blackthorn city, which will take forever too
@@CEOofFSit took what seemed forever, but unbelievably, it actually worked on VC Crystal! Thanks for the vid! Would not have known this was possible without it!
