Pokémon Legends: Arceus vs Palworld - Graphics, Gameplay and Details Comparison 

I just wish how much i wanted to pet totodile and other legendary pokemon. But nope. Battle to faint it is.

No excuses for pokemon, but they needed to fit the formula while palworld could go crazy and it did.

The only thing that makes your pals feel “real” is the fact you can pet and walk with them, which Pokémon has introduced in their mainline titles.

Legends Arceus still cool. It will always have a soft place in my heart because they gave me something I like. Pokemon can attack you and you can hit them back and hide too. That's why I like palworld you can literally do it all

I wouldn't say that. Legends Arceus still holds up, it's only been 2 years. It was still a great step in the right direction and it should have been what they continued with instead of going backwards in S&V.

The switch’s hardware is terrible. They working with what they got.

Technically the game is terrible. Can’t have a solid game session without the game lagging,glitching or even crashing on me

In legends we could technically fight Pokémon with alphas.

If you take away the guns and tone down the survival aspect slightly PalWorld is the Pokemon game most long time fans have been begging for. Legends Arceus came very close PalWorld just completes the transition. To be very specific if you added the following aspects to Legends (which I personally think is one of the best games in the series) that Pal World already has Legends would objectively be the best game in the series. 1: Pokemon Maintenance. In Pal world you have to feed your Pals and give them bedding or it reduces their sanity. Legends Arceus lets you let them out of their ball but that's it they really only exist for battles and collecting. 2: Pals base abilities effect the player and the environment for example some pals are better a chopping trees. Legends could use a similar system so instead of breaking rocks smacking trees to collect the Pokemon in could actually be better at specific like using Scyther or Klevor to Collect wood. This along with a maintenance system for your Pokemon would make them feel more alive and like they're really your partners in the world 3: You can use Pals with the correct body type as Mounts. Legends Arceus let us do this with some of the noble Pokemon but it would have been better to let us use our actual Pokemon. For instance using Gyarados to dive underwater or Ursaluna to dig underground. In addition in while you can throw a pokeball while riding Basculegion none of the other rideable Pokemon allow this. That would have been another great addition. 4: Pals in the wild will actually attack each other. Pokemon made a giant leap Forward by having Pokemon actually spawn on screen. Legends does a slightly better I'm making them feel alive like they have their own thing going on. But making them actually interact with each other outside of the player would truly bring the game to life 5: Pokemon needs a graphical overhaul, voice acting and the full dex. This is less something PalWorld does better so much as a general critique I'd like to know that most of these suggestions mainely making Pokemon feel like they matter to the game World vs being just things you catch that ultimately collect dust in the PC. Most people want a Pokemon game that feels like they stepped into the anime and that's essentially what PalWorld is doing. The only other thing I could suggest is a more engaging story line but that's it. I have been a Pokemon fan since I was a kid in the 90's my first game was Pokemon Red. I'm 34 years old with a kid of my own. I'm always going to be a fan but I just game freak to put in the effort and give is us something better. PocketPair made proved it's possible with a fraction of the resources GameFreak/Nintendo has. I say this with love for the series but it's time for Pokemon to evolve.

​​​@@glorifieddustcollectorwhile true people are gonna compare regardless simply because there are cartoony fictional animals that you can catch, all the pokemon fans keep dumping on this game even though there are other games that can *actually* be considered pokemon ripoffs like Digimon and yokai watch, those are both turn based games and there's even a Digimon in particular that looks like an ugly Charmander, while palworld works more like zelda btow-totk or ark survival in terms of gameplay.

@@Riko_KP having bad graphics and it being a stylistic choice is different, some part of the game lowkey looks like a mobile games. Its alrd cell shaded, u dont even need to try that hard to make it look good. Look at genshin, its a mobile game and yet it still look solid coz of its cell shaded nature.

@@darky1374 To be fair, Switch is a mobile device. Pokémon has also never been about the graphics, I can say I have never once picked up a Pokémon game for the graphics, yet played them all. No one cares.

Craftopia was built in Unity, not UE, so any parts they reused wouldn't have been a simple drag-and-drop port.

@@badateverygame Yep people underestimate how hard it is to make something out of an engine from scratch. And just because they're using the same engine doesn't mean they can make the same thing it depends on the developer's skills. Look at how Sakura Rabbit is using Unity, it's such on a high level even the makers of Unity are praising and followed her channel.

Nothing wrong with reusing assets from previous projects. I agree it takes a lot of work to create something like this, and even more switching engines between. And to that one guy, I've never used Twitter lol. Look at the landscape of both games side by side. They used it.

They tried it on unity engine before and they decided to abandon it and made it with Unreal engine 5

Nothing wrong if its free use, just noting that it plays very much like fortnite style. People point out the pokemon style and say its a clone or ripoff, but not many people look at the animations and the stuff used with the UE5. For instance, the animations of pals are quite detailed. Note nitewing's unique attack skill and how the model animates...

I agree. And this comes from someone who stopped caring about Pokémon for a while now.

You can say they made impressive stylistic choices well still saying they look bad because of the textures, you can be stylistic and not have your textures look like they belong in 2005. Also your coping by saying palworld looks bad, it may not be particularly unique but it looks good, and dunno why you are ripping on palworld for reusing assets when thats pretty common in the video game industry, like tons of games do that so I don't know why that even matters. Also what do you mean the monsters have nothing connecting them to the world? If you actually played the game you would know that biomes matter alot for where you can find certain pals, the lava area is too hot for the player but is filled with high level fire pals well an area like the desert has more ground based pals, same as when you go to cold areas and find ice pals or you could go to the like wild life reserve area and tou can find rare pals that are being protected.

Were you paid by gamefreak to say this sh*t because palworld looks miles better than Legends arceus. Not to mention, the mechanics in palworld are also way better.

@@inferno7528 As pokemon late gen haters I can say that Legend Arceus has cohesive artstyle. It's not about mimicking real life, but how can it delivers best experience to the player.

@@Luluskuy I respect your opinion. However, as my comment reads, I disagree with the op that it looks better than palworld. It might be a different style, but palworld just looks more enticing with its visuals imo and gameplay. And I love pokemon, so its sad to watch it go down like this, but they've been slacking these law few games, and hopefully, palworld will be the wake-up call they desperately need because in that case, everyone would win.
