That's what we strive for :) the interviews will be posted in their entirety on our separate channel Speed Docs Interviews (link in the description) as soon as I can get them processed and uploaded
You're different from Summoning Salt. He focuses on in depth strategies while you have interviews with the speedrunners. I like your style a lot. Keep it up
Yeah, my dumb ass couldn't get passed the second world of Paper Mario and even I realized that if you just chuck pester balls over the hill, you'll hit Mankey to speed things along.
Liam is a monster, he's 4th place now in sm64 and has gotten wr pace runs every couple days. Didn't know he run this game and seeing his gameplay from sm64 doesn't surprise me how fast he improoved in this one. Nice vid
Liam is pretty crazy, yeah. He was like top 10 in under 2 weeks from the first time he ever played the game. He can learn and implement faster/better than any other speedrunner I've ever seen
You have earned yourself another sub. I've watched a number of your videos and the quality is just getting better and better. Thank you for your hard work and well researched videos. Keep up the amazing work!
Not many WRs are achieved during a race, but Drogie's 20:43 was one of them. Protoman5 vs Lvon race was one of the closest races in a video game speedrun. Since the video was released, LiamKings (now known as Liam) achieved the 120-star WR in Super Mario 64, but has since been broken by Simply. ArghMyToast played Pokemon Snap any% during the first 12 Hour Challenge. 12 Hour Challenge go1den.com/12-hour-challenge/ The World Record History of New Super Mario Bros. Ahh, Pokemon Snap. I have so much damn nostalgia for this incredible game. It was just so much fun playing this as kid, trying to discover all the secrets and the hidden Pokemon. This really was an incredible experience for me at that age (I'd have been about nine).
Was disgusted to see your sub count, this video is seriously top notch for the genre, would be criminal to not see the sub counts rise in coming months. Best of luck, keep it up!
Your videos are excellent, man! You present both the evolution of the strats and the times in a very concise and professional manner. I'm sure you'll have a lot more subscribers and views in no time.
I'm a huge sports fan, and I was paying homage to Al Michaels call during the 1984 Miracle on Ice. It was more paying tribute to something I love, than actually being over the top excited -- CJ
had you asked me 'are there any N64 games youd consider impossible to speedrun?' i think pokemon snap would definitely be in the top spot...yet here i am watching this video lol
Holy fk, snap is such a nostalgia trip for me. I haven’t played this shit since release. Pretty much my first reminder of this game just currently happened with this video lol. Thanks for the good video bud.
Good job on this video! I had absolutely no idea anybody ran this game before watching this. I also found out another thing I never knew before watching this.. I had no idea the North American version of this game released the day I was born! Lol, keep up the great work, I look forward to watching any future videos!
I can’t wait till someone does this style but does newer video games like hollow knight/cup head/ Mario odyssey. I love the speed run doc genre but there are speedrun games with history beyond the n64!
As years went by Nintendo makes amazing Pokémon games for the Franchise, However it would be nice if they make another Pokémon snap for the Nintendo switch
It may be ported, but possibly not. The reason why there is no Pokemon Snap 2 is because the company behind most of it www.softnica.com/index.html moved into a different industry. It now teaches game design and contracts out their employees to companies rather than be a developer firm.
@@SpeedDocs I watch it all 100% before asking, haha I am sorry English is not my first language. :) Maybe it was said too fast or something? I don't know how I missed it, also at the end in the tournament when one competitor writes something blaming RNG.... I assume is the same thing but can't understand what thing is :S
The coin flip in the run is whether or not runners will get a cloyster to appear in River. It's something like a 57% chance to appear, and not getting cloyster loses 30 seconds
Pro tip: Do NOT put speedrunning over your education. Sure you can earn money by speedrunning if you're having a moderately big fan base but if that option disappears and you failed your clas(ses) your life devolves into an Any% instead of a 100%.
SA/LF Control man, it’s college. Dropping out or “taking a break” to pursue a passion/dream is what it’s all about. Pursue it, and hopefully it works out. If it doesn’t...you can always just re enroll my guy.
Momentum slowed down for a while, but Gunlap's record is just really optimized. Improving on quo's 20:35, gunlap used some new lag reduction strats to get the edge. We're kind of at the end of the road for optimization though
Pester balls have a gas animation that can cause lag because of the particle effects. Realistically, you could do either one, but we often choose just to use apples
In 100% you have to take pictures of all 63 Pokemon. In Any%, if you maximize your points, you can get away with taking pictures of 41. There is also more run killing RNG in 100% than there is in Any%.
RYKER ZEEEEEE RYKER ZEEEEE RYKER ZEEEE RYKER ZEEEE RYKER ZEEEE Seriously, you don't have to say people's names over and over and over again. And you also don't have to dramatically increase your volume when you say them. Good videos though, I've been watching all of them. Keep them coming.
