Started playing PokeMMO when I got COVID around late September last year. Glad to see Patrouski’s channel grow since I first saw his channel last year when I was a new player Kudos man!

Recently I've made myself a different strat for catching dittos I use a smeargle with ~90 atk with substitute/payday/yawn/false swipe where you catch dittos by using moves in that order. The advantage is that first off, the smeargle can use payday on a ditto without ko'ing it so you can make some extra cash even from ditto encounters. Second, yawn makes it so you're guaranteed the chance to throw 2 balls before the ditto wakes up because unlike spore, yawn puts the ditto to sleep at the end of its turn. Third, using payday gives you 4 turns rather than 3 before you start throwing balls, so timer ball has better catch rates. This has downsides, however; loudreds will require to be 2-shot to be ko'd or brought to 1 hp and you need to run leftovers and sit through their animations to afford substitutes

yo pat, there's also the assist+false swipe method. You basically have a Smeargle and a spore mon like Paras with no other moves in your party. You can catch the ditto in turn 3

Great content bro, I lucked out and got a 3x31 shroomish on the GTL for 3500 and evolved him to breloom. He's a poke catching machine now.

using a poke with Synchronize with a nature adamant/modest, a magikarp and a catch Smeargle it will be worse? assuming you get lucky and catch a 1x31 with a good nat every 10 minutes

My strat: Lead with a mon that can run away from any unwanted pokebattles. When you encounter Ditto, swap into magikarp that only knows splash, after Ditto transforms into that useless magikarp, swap in your catching mon, false swipe, Spore, timer/dusk ball.

Shouldn't repeat balls be better?
