Actually, you dont need to defeat the rival using any cheat codes, heremis how you do it Step 1. On the title screen, press SELECT Step 2. Pick the 1st Option in the menu Step 3. Pick the pokedex number of any Pokemon (ex: 151= Mew, since Mew's pokedex number is 151) Step 4. Choose the level , 1-100 Step 5. If you want a whole party, repeat the steps in Slot 1,2,3,4,5 and 6 Step 6.Press Select Step 7. On another there is that stuff again, Repeat steps 1-4, But this time it is a battle. Step 8. When you win, you have the pokemon, Enjoy!
I played that Spaceworld demo once. And I seriously wish someone would take this as a base for a ROM hack. So the incomplete roads and areas could be filled and connected. Maybe translated too, why not. It would be fucking amazing to have such a huge and wide map to play with. I really wonder why Nintendo / Game Freak never reused this concept. I wish they did. :(
There is a hack made on this demo. It's called "Pokemon gold 97" and it has two enhanced versions like "Pokemon super gold 97"(with gen 1 games color palette) and "Pokémon Gold 97 Reforged"(with gen 2 full color graphics).
Actually if you look close to the designs of many pokemon of the demo you can see many of them are reused in future designs... Of course not entirely the same pokemon but you get the idea also... The MAYOR of lost zones have some dark implications like the Forest dungeon before mount Moon or mount Fuji in the demo (a real mountain) is a forest of s()icides... People get there to end with their lives... The other lost zones are very little interesting to be reused but if they ever give us a 3D area with a similar structure can be a fun fact...
With how big the pokemon community is I'm surprised nobody ever translated this... I think there should totally be a rom with the finished music of the game and the moves on All mayor languages since this demo is an entirely different game

I play this demo in Chile in the years 98-99 The rom was on internet in that years. I play this demo one day when a very hard pokemon card collector share this "new pokemon game" whith me. I whas very impresed this demo has lost for many years. I repeat, the rom whas in internet in the year 99!! The lost media its crazy if you tink
there is now even a hack that plays like the demo with its own story and all 251 Pokemon programmed in obtainable. I posted a clip for an upcoming playthrough.
By looking at the gameplay it's kinda obvious that the game would run like red and blue but I assume because the games were buggy they decided to change it up so it wouldn't be as laggy TBH that is my theory on why this is so different
Development started using Pokémon Blue as a base (the japanese Blue version was a limite edition and had the most up-to-date code). After Satoru Iwata joined the dev team, development restarted with another build and more optimized code. Even this 97 build is slow compared to retail Red and Green.
Wait...beta Smoochum? I don't know man...I mean, different tastes and all, but Jynx is one of my least favorite Pokemon designs ever, and beta Smoochum is LITERALLY just a smaller Jynx...I don't particularly like the Smoochum we officially got either, but I personally consider it at least a little better than Jynx itself. In general I just don't like Pokemon that look very humanoid and/or look like they're wearing clothes, and Jynx pretty much does both of those things. Smoochum has the humanoid part but at least it doesn't wear clothes. It looks at least a little more like an animal and less like a human, when compared to Jynx at least, if you ask me.

nvm i found that out. It sucks that you can't battle any of the Gyms/Elite Four, although maps with them exist. There's no script attached to them, you can't battle them, which sucks. :(
On title, press SELECT, and a menu will pop up. Go to the second option and you'll enter Silent Hills with debug features. Now hold B to walk through walls (cant go OoB)
The Lazy Ghost it was leaked but it is unknown who originally had it. There was a limited download link shared among a group of people. One of them leaked it.
