I find the whole "Arceus" part of the game hilarious. He's literally like "YOU. RANDOM CHILD. I AM GOING TO TELEPORT YOU THROUGH TIME AND SPACE TO OLD SINNOH SO YOU CAN COMPLETE THE FIRST POKÉDEX. ALSO HERE'S A PHONE. GOOD LUCK."
I like to imagine that they grab the player character from Diamond or Pearl after you become the champion. So he decides that since you have proven yourself to be worthy of the champion title you have proven your worth to work on the first ever dex. I don't think it is ever even hinted at, but I like to imagine that's who your character was beforehand
I actually love how even they casually put that death talk at the start they literally said "If you dont manage this we will banish you and wouldn't care finding your corpse the next day" And that was kind of the funniest at the start hearing that in a pokemon game
I have to say, they really took the animations criticisms from sword and shield to heart. The pokemon animations and behaviors were the real stand out to me for this game
This is the first game since XY where pre existing Pokemon got new animations (excluding the let's go starters). There's genuinely brand new animations (cough cough, sword and shield).
@@kirin1230 Yeah, we know. The whole SwSh thing isn't going to net you extra points. It's already been used in case you haven't noticed (which you obviously haven't). Low and behold some rando with something big to say storms in and shows the horrible flaw that nobody noticed when ever people commit the heinous act of pointing out an improvement.
The part of gameplay that got me thinking “This is how it should be” was when your Pokémon learns new moves they don’t forget the previous ones and instead just switch out a set of four of any move your Pokémon currently knows. Not only is it a great quality of life perk but it also just makes sense. Like why would a super powerful being only be able to keep 4 techniques in their head?
Honest, if this was a gamecube game, maybe wii, wii u at a strech, I'd say you'd be right. But gamefreak are making the cheepest games they can get away with because they know the sales are 100% gonna happen
@@madethat You're being that guy. And it's clear with gen 9 that they are improving. Geez, The world isn't going to end because a pokemon game doesn't look like Horizon forbidden west
@Heritor _ Yeah cause it would have been so hard to make the game look like chronicles. Gamefreak is lazy and it baffles me that you're defending them.
Yeah it has the same problem as Ocarina of Time, BotW, and Skyrim to me. There is actual area music and it's excellent, but it's constantly getting interrupted by the battle music.
Imagine a nuzlock with this game, a new permadeath rule could be added for the character now. Edit: I mean that if you passed out that you would have to automatically restart from the very beginning.
I got a weird idea for a nuzlock, and could use some feedback. So my current idea is that you can catch one pokemon either per Map (which would be harder) or per named area (which could give more leeway). Another idea I had is that the pokemon you go for can not notice you, or the catch is forfeit, this would make it more about skill then about luck. As for all the other mons you need to catch, well you can just toss those into a box or release them. Keep in mind this is a rough idea that I got while playing the first 30 minutes of the game, as in I only just beat the first required alpha. So any ideas on how to improve would be appreciated.
I love how the pokedex feels like what a pokedex should actually feel, you are learning about this creature and helping the world become more informed on what it is or does!
I would love a game with new Pokémon that you actually need to enter data yourself. Like, you need to observe which attacks are effective and which aren't, then you can deduce their types, for instance.
Well, a virtual game should not be felt within the software. You should be wholesome of yourself and play these games like reading a book or a puzzle with composure.
Yellow up to BDSP - Human: "I sure hope there are no Pokémon in the tall grass." Legends Arceus - Pokémon: "I sure hope there are no humans in the tall grass."
Oh how the tables have turned. A wild Trainer appears! What will Bidoof do? -Rollout A wild Trainer used Heavy Ball! It was super effective! Bidoof is out of useable strength! Bidoof dropped *all of its free will* in panic… Bidoof blacked out!
Honestly the only thoughts I have for Arceus is more. I want more of everything it had. I would take a very linear improvement to this game, as in no need for more mechanics and complicated things like that. Just more of everything they have now and bigger. Dont just have the little caves, have whole underground areas. Don't just have the sparse trees, have a real forest.
I am excited for a eventual Legends 2 after playing Legends Arceus. Perhaps they do Legends Unova with the whole 2 princes at war with eachother, original dragon and stuff. Make the player a "Knight" in this hypothetical game. Though I will say and take this with a grain of salt, I saw it on a article but it could just be pure BS. but apparently in April Arceus might have DLC announced for it. Which I don't think this game needs DLC. but I really like this game and I wanna play more of it once I 100% the pokedex. (I am someone that really doesn't like resetting my progress in a pokemon game)
This is more my stance. I had last played Black and White and between hearing the absurd increase in handholding and the crap about graphics, animations, and the towns in sword and shield I refused to play the newer generations. This game brought back something I didn’t think I would find again in this series. I had fun playing this, more fun than I’ve had in a long time.
Honestly I rather... hear me out. Next legend game should be an entirely new story, you start off in the past already as a character from a tribe/clan in a region that would become Gen 9 or 10. Filled with a ton of new (70+) and old pokemon. At the end of the story arceus bring you into the future to help with some issues. And it ends with you waking up to the concerned professor of the Gen 9 or 10 region and its starters looking over you. Then later in the same year nintendo and pokemon should release the Gen 9 or 10 game. With the new pokemons from legends returning, some with evolution changes: typing changes, new variant look, new evolutions, color changes, etc. And the story in ways continuing but at the same time if no one played legends still be it own thing.
They literally grabbed you, pulled you into a Void, gave you back your phone when you dropped it (and upgraded it beyond recognition), then dropped you on a beach and periodically send you vague texts implying that you should go somewhere or do something. Exactly as They should be, I think.
The leaders of the main political groups, discussing religion: almighty Sinnoh is the creator of All and the ruler of time/space! Hey, you came from the spacetime rift, did you see which it was? Us, from the future, knowing full well they're talking about two distinct legendaries with their own names and dominions, who are both submissive to the ACTUAL Creator of All, who is currently spamming our cell phone: uh...
My biggest issues with the graphics were: -The rendering of trees and mons only went out a short distance -Flying Pokémon outside the render distance got 3 frames per second and looked so derpy -They only coded like 3 facial expressions -The art styles don't match up sometimes. Like the grass will be super detailed and then the ground is almost a solid colour. The water is just a repeating texture but then they bothered to put in waves and splashes
I think the shading engine they used is also just awful, characters really don't jive for me with the hideously textured yet realistically styled natural environments. These two art direction teams sat in different rooms. In different buildings.
Okay, I'll see a Staraptor or Gyarados flying in the distance in the first open area, and it looks like one of the flying Pokemon from the background of the Saffron City stage in Smash Ultimate (which is from Smash 64). The way they move is almost like stop motion
@@IMATR0LL0L0L That’s the Switch for ya. If it was running at full speed, you’d probably have noticeable slowdown on framerate. So it was either keep a smooth experience, or have terrible frame drops like BotW had. I’m personally more in favor of smooth gameplay, and playing on mobile, I find the render distance doesn’t bother me as much as playing on a TV. Doesn’t mean it’s not bad, just less noticeable.
I think you guys are forgetting this game is running on Switch, the single modern console with the absolute weakest GPU in the market. Could Pokemon be optimized? Yes, as you can see in Legend of Zelda BotW, but its Game Freak we are talking about here lmao Still, Switch graphics suck for the simple fact it runs on a tablet.
Oddly, the player character has a set of effort vocals for throwing stuff, dodging, running, getting hit, and so on. It catches me off guard sometimes.
This is by far the most fun I have had with a Pokemon game in years. I actually feel like collecting them all and it seems manageable. Shiny hunting actually seems good now as well. Everything is so much faster its insane. By the time you fill 1 box in the old games you can probably fill 10+ boxes of pokemon in this game.
honestly, i zoomed through the game the last few days and im super close to the end of the main story but like i almost feeling like doing a completionist run im enjoying it that much
honestly, super respectable review gives praise where praise is due, and gives critique where it's needed, all without sounding either like an obsessed fanboy/clout chasing "hater" this is the kind of shit i look for with reviews in general, and i hope to see more like this you're awesome scott, keep it up
@@sawk1875 I was worried to watch the video originally as I wasn't done with the main story. Yeah, it's been a week so it's usually assumed that many already played I guess.
@@gregallan4291 All pokemon reviews are Either "Wow this game sucks,go play a 2013 game that i used to hate"Or "Wow this game rules go suck Gamefreak bollocks now"
It needed another few months of polish AT LEAST. IMO, it should have waited a year and really taken the fan criticisms to heart, like what the Sonic Movie did. Would they have fixed everything in that time? Absolutely not, but they could have given themselves a starting platform to run a bunch of more engaging pokemon games in the future.
I totally agree. The first trailer a year ago made me think "this looks neat I'll probably pick this up in a few years when it finally comes out". Then the second trailer a months ago made me think "wait this is this is coming out now? It doesn't even look finished yet". The first trailer looked more like a concept trailer than a this will be out in a year trailer. Heck seeing footage from it again in this video is making me think they forgot to turn on the cel shading filter in this game and that's why it looks so bad.
@@pokuhmoo9415 But that only highlights the inherent issue of modern Pokemon. The games are just an extension of a merch machine, rather than vice versa. The mainline games shouldn't be an afterthought, they should be the main attraction everything else focuses around.
I think it's important to remember that this is a first, it's a potential new formula for pokemon games and so naturally needs to be refined and tweaked in response to feedback from the fanbase. This game feels like I think pokemon should, so I can't wait to see if they try out this formula again.
The problem isn't in the fact that it's a first for Pokemon games, it's the fact that this should've happened YEARS ago. They should already have all this tweaked out, this 'first' came like six years too late.
Of course new changes need tweaking. But that really doesn't excuse the embarrassing graphics. It's ok to be happy with what you have, but it's also ok to ask more of a billion dollar company. It's not like they can't do better, they just seem so obsessed with churning out new releases, they don't put inn the work to polish them
@@gonzalofraguasbringas8617 You're completely right!!! Except it's actually not the "they don't put the work in" the devs are overworked to hell. But you can't expect an artist to do well if your keep working them to exaustion with imposible to reach deadlines
Small thing about the music: There IS music similar to route music in previous games. It just pops up at random and it's pretty good. Upbeat and with that Pokémon route music flare we know and love. Not only piano flourishes.
Was about to say this myself. I'm really liking the music when it kicks in and some of it is D&P remixed with old edo period instruments. It's pretty cool
@@coreyhall5065 YES! It's amazing! I got a huge nostalgia rush when visiting the lakes, because it has this slow build up into the main piano melody, it was awesome
I love the Obsidian Fields and Heartwood area music(I’m at that part of the game, about to move onto Crimson Mirelands), and the ‘spotted’ music is one of my favorites.
oh yeah thats annoying lol, at least its minimal. Freaking antialiasing. They darkened all of the base models so light would be more prevalent but I guess they fucked up the caves
9:50 I had a similar moment in Final Fantasy 14. There's a moment in one of the expansions where a character goes "BEHOLD, THE SKY" It was overcast for me in-game, so he's gesturing at a big grey nothing. I just fucking lost it.
10:30 Yes yes yes! Slap a post process effect onto the game and make it look cel shaded and like the anime! I'm actually not opposed to the frames being jittery like that either it looks so vibrant and nice. Basically like spiderverse
I might be in the minority, but I’m thrilled this game is more focused on single player than multiplayer. I don’t mind the multiplayer aspect of Pokémon, but I’ve always been more interested in the story and completing the Pokédex so this game really appeals to me. It could’ve used a few more months to a year in the oven to improve the aesthetic and make some minor QOL changes but other than that this is my ideal Pokémon game.
oh believe me, you are definitely not in the minority. a way better single-player experience is the biggest thing that was being requested for Pokemon. the competitive modes in these games have been frequently robust, but often when few other things are, and are by their nature enjoyed the most by a small percentage of players. I rarely try to get into any of that stuff anymore since it's so imposing. this game on the other hand might be the most fun I've had with a Pokemon game ever.
You're definitely not the only one. Back when Sword and Shield came out I remember thinking "this game focused way too much on multiplayer, I'd really like a full-on singleplayer RPG Pokémon experience", and this game is literally that so this is the ideal Pokémon game for me. I really hope gen 9 follows in this game's footsteps instead of going back to SwSh style.
@@amogusus4684 I did stop sucking copium its not that great of a game, get monster hunter or breath of the wild HELL get dragonquest has more detail and gameplay to boot.
Same here, of they make more games similar but better then this one. I'll remain a fan of the mainline games and continue looking forward to playing them.
Imagine connecting with friends and running around hucking balls at everything. How funny would it be if they could interupt you mid battle by stealing the pokemon
I think I’m a special case as to why I love this game so much. I’m 21 and never owned a Nintendo console prior to me buying a Switch a few months ago, and that also means this was my first ever Pokemon game. The only Pokemon related thing I ever watched was the anime, and so going into this game I just loved seeing all the Pokemon I used to see on TV. I absolutely fell in love with the throwing pokeballs, doing quests for characters in the village and building a collection and moving up the ranks. The gameplay loop is so addictive and the world, although pretty bare, is gorgeous and I love exploring it to find new mons. It also made me wanna check out some of the older games too!
On the one hand, I agree that the landscape wasn't all that exciting. On the other, I climbed to about as high as possible, and on top of a weathered Pokemon statue I found an Unown, so...
the story is based on the ainu from what I've seen, the dress is reminiscent of our attush robe, and the ainu headdress known as the matampushi (usually worn by women though in the past by men) and the sapanpe which was worn by men though it also looks like another Japanese/ Yayoi headdress, but the whole story world and attire is pretty much based on Hokkaido and Ainu culture as a whole. I am pretty glad our people got this much recognition than just Golden Kamuy (another good ainu media) the gameplay so far needs some work and I totally get your points!
The environment art is the only thing that looks bad to me, the models look decent, and the lighting is pretty good. My fiancé has played it, I didn’t play it myself yet but I think I’ll give it a go, since it’s a mechanically dense game compared to previous Pokémon games… i just hope this is the direction of the future much like you said
@@caravaneerkhed I'll admit I was totally hoping the same thing when I played, love the game but wish the combat was like ni no kunis XD, agree with the environment, it's ok just feels very muddy and a bit bland at some points (plus the purple shadow shader loves to glitch and sit bright purple on a well lit piece of ground XD) but still love it for sure
This is the first time since B2W2 that I’m genuinely having _fun_ with a Pokémon game. Sure, Legends: Arceus has its rough edges, but what’s there is a great base to build upon in future games. I do kinda wish it tried to be its own thing rather than piggybacking on Breath of the Wild’s aesthetic and overall vibe.
It feels more like monster hunter than breath of the wild. It's not a full map but instanced sections. . Oh Scott just said that! Cool! But yeah I don't feel any botw here~ so it doesn't feel piggy backed to me!
@@Scarecrowexe and as someone who plays monster hunter I see no reason to play something that both looks and feels inferior in many ways like this. But that's just me. I'm waiting to see if they can actually make a follow up that improves on this or if this was just a lucky exception to the mediocre pile we've had for awhile.
Recently I looked over a mountain at the huge landscape, trying to be amazed by the beautiful vista before me, but I just couldn't get past the weird outline the trees had. When I ran into that alpha Rapidash though, I stopped for a good while. The Pokemon look pretty good in this one
@@imnotwritingmyrealname6451 I know, right? Think about it. With the theme of "pokemon are dangerous wild animals" being a big part of the game, this helps make it reinforced. Cool game design.
@@officersoulknight6321 Gods YEAH, the first time I saw that Rapidash I tried battling it. Hit 'Run away' after so much as seeing it's level, stared at it a moment, and it threw a fucking fireball at me. They REALLY went hard on the "Pokemon are dangerous and WILL KILL"
So we have pokemon in an environment with a clashing style to them, battles that take place in the overworld, and crafting Guys, we've done it, we've achieved "pixelmon real" status
I was always compared this title to pixelmon. It's like almost at pixelmon level. I do really like the battle styles system. I would love it if pixelmon could eventually implement it as an add on mod
Fun fact: When the Pokémon anime first aired in the 90’s, it was only planned as a one-off series to promote the game. However, it proved surprisingly popular, and there have been over 20 series and 23 films! It’s also currently one of the longest running anime series ever!
My main fear before buying this is that the “open world” aspect will be the wild area from sword and shield- but bigger. I really didn’t like traversing the wild areas most of the time and found them kinda bland
Like scott said, it's not really an open world, but it's for sure a much grander scope than the wild areas of sw/sh. The wild area really had nothing going on except the battles. This game expands upon it enough that i'd say it's worth a look.
The open world is one of the worst aspects of this game tbh. Graphics are bad and it is unbearably empty. If you can deal with both of those then youll be fine
@@aydenmartin8914 its not empty your just meant to be focused on the pokemon. Zelda doesnt really expect you to be interested in its enemies, whereas in this game theyre all enemies, collectathon points and prospective party members.
@@aydenmartin8914 Its one of the very few open worlds ever done right. The worst parts of the game is the god damn story. I don't fucking care. Ive never cared. Just let me catch pokemon ffs.
@@cephery8482 no… it’s empty, even Pokemon wise, the maps are big, and only so few “sections” have an abundance of Pokemon, obsidian falls has quite a few spots of big plains full of like tiny groups of 1 to 2 Pokemon in a large open field. Some spots feel barren. And you could say, “it’s like that, because it’s a starting zone, to keep players from overwhelmed from battles and faints” in which case I’d argue that’s an even worse point, it’s a pain to run on foot without the mounts to start, through long empty fields, it hurt my opening impressions of the game. I hate having to explain a game as “it gets better later in the game, because other “regions” in the world have more Pokemon sprinkled on the map compared to obsidian falls
I don't think this is an amazing game where pokemon has finally given us what we wanted, but I think it's a huge step in the right direction for them, and I'm excited for the next title!
I mean it's a decent base but I have some issues with the changes to the battle system. I.e. I just lose my first pokemon sometimes because a character decided she wanted to battle and I don't even have a chance to save it, I'm just down a guy for the rest of the fight. If you get ganged up on you're screwed because I don't think you can send out a backup mon or hit multiples with a big attack. Effort Levels being tied to random drops makes it difficult to keep up. It's a Base, but it needs more iterating on, and we all know how much Greed Freak loves to introduce awesome stuff then never use it again because muh quality animations.
Graphics aside it's actually a lit better than I expected it to be. One of the things I actually like most are the little changes taking place in the village, the more you complete quests.
I love the face expressions because in older games you were just expressionless “oh my grandma died” “Stares into your soul with a smile” But another thing I wanted to mention is I personally love the art style and graphics the rain looks so nice and the trees and rocks look cool too the sky is amazing I just love this game so much
I think one of my favorite things is that we no longer need to trade kadabra or any other mons in order to evolve them since there's now an item for it lol
@@groudongamer3178 As Isacc said it's called the Linking cord, you can get one from either the space time rifts or the merit point shop next to the training grounds.
In my opinion, at the end of the day, this is a huge proof of concept for a new system that I hope to see expanded upon in Pokemon. This is what I personally hope to be the baseline for pokemon, but if a few things are wound back, that's fine. Honestly, all they need is a more powerful console to pull it off.
Breath of the Wild, Doom Eternal, or any number of games with way better graphics--and frankly, better games--didn't need more console power. The Witcher 3 runs on Switch just fine. Yes, the visuals take a hit, but it's all there.
I mean in oras as soon as Archie awakened kyogre with obvious results maxie said that the beginning kyogre brings about would be by driving every other living thing to it's death first, this is kinda more nightmarish if you remember that kyogre episode in pokemon generations
It's far from perfect but still a step forward in the right direction for the pokemon franchise I'd say. There is still a lot to be improved (graphics, world design, etc), and even then, been enjoying it so much than their traditional games. Can't wait to see what's in store for the next game assuming Game Freak will start to innovate more on their games
If there are more games they could even keep the naming style, Pokémon Legends Arceus, Pokémon Legends Mew(for Kanto), Legends Celebi(for Johto) and so on. It'd be cool to see what comes after this.
A 60$ step in the right direction, sure. I mean, this game is really not polished and I am not talking about the graphics aspect: the story has new twists but it's written by a 5 years old, the bosses are easy, the styles really don't matter (you can push through the game using only the strong style), the last part is rushed and don't make any sense. I think generally the concept could have been good but the execution is just lackluster. What is left is just "catch the same pokemon that have 3 possible different behavior patterns untill you are bored to death" and it is very disapointing
@@byby488 I agree with you on some points especially if you break it down like that... and based on your words, you see potential but there is a failure in execution which is understandable. I didn't set my expectation too high for now since it's GF 1st attempt at breaking their traditional design and have been enjoying it. Also, I don't think there is a hard/souls-like difficulty pokemon game (I remember only using my starter + HM slaves in clearing the original Red,Gold,Ruby,DPP) My comparison was with their previous games (the latest is BDSP) which was "as expected" to play in my opinion (as someone who started in Red version) With this game making that "step", I can now hope and set greater expectations cause I don't really expect much if they are following their "traditional formula" I too have disappointments on this game like how they removed all pokemon abilities in the game(except one from what I've heard)
@@RaiGamingz Yeah i agree that have never been a "hard pokemon game" except maybe for BW2 in hard mode, but I also don't to expect it to be really hardcore, just something that makes you use your brain a little. I think the problem is that the Pokèmon comunity tends to compare these titles with others of the same Pokèmon series (and more specifically with the ones of the mainline because with spinoffs we reached very high standards) and not with titles that have been published in the same year. When I started doing that I realised that before they are going to make a change that i'm gonna actually appreciate and not rushed and timid attempts, I will probably have played something even greater. I hope I am proven wrong because I was very into Pokèmon, they were my childhood but let's face it: brands are just brands, not friends and not even something we should trust blindfully.
GameFreak needs to finally figure out how to make villages/towns/cities that fit into a 3D enviroment for starters. Then putting more polish in the open areas and routes would also be very welcome.
I'm glad I'm not the only one to compare this to Monster Hunter, the instanced maps, the overworld spawning bosses, and the challenge and reward in repeatedly just roaming around. I think it just needs a clearly desired visual touch up and it could really be the best next step for the franchise.
This feels less like a new mainline pokemon game, and more like a testbed for new mechanics/concepts. If they build on it, they could breathe some much needed life back into the pokemon games. Otherwise, this is just going to be a neat footnote in a never ending series.
sadly, its also not that good given the income pokemon games generate, they could have done a lot better At least they still try in zelda games, looking forward for botw 2
@@indigo7898 at least zelda actually has a big team. Game freak never has more than 200 employees total, and they’re expected to chug out a game almost every year. @@gektoast4968 i mean nintendo in general What stops them from hiring more people to polish their games? Greed, knowing pokemon fans buy it anyway Its like fifa games, why would you do it differently if it works so well?

Playing this game reignited my love of the pokemon video games. One of the biggest things I love is that you're able to see the size of the pokemon in comparison to u, making the alpha pokemon a lot more threatening
Thank goodness for the move pool! Best thing they added to the battle system since phys/special split and I hope it'd here to stay! While I don't think this style of game would replace traditional Pokemon I do hope it becomes something that will run alongside it like how 2D and 3D Zelda games are released. Something to note scott, on the "being able to send out more then 1 mon" The "only 6 pokemon on a team' thing is because cannonically its difficult for people to manage more then that ,so thats why only skilled trainers have u pto 6, cause people who are unskilled can only care for 1 or 2. think of it like caring for a kid, you have 1 baby to take care of ok managable... 6... yeeeeah no. Same comes for combat, the only people who have 2 pokemon out at once are trainers who build bonds with pokemon instead of capturing them in balls like you do. The galaxy core "enslaves" pokemon, while the native trainers treat them with respect and befriend them, thats sorta the deal and how we work with the riding pokemon, why we dont send them from pokeballs but instead call them with the flute. So trainers who use 2 pokemon are those who dont have to work as hard to manage their pokemon because they befriended them and grew with them, while us we just snatched them up, and so we can only control 1 at a time. Same reason why in the old games, double battles were almost always 2 trainers versus you, cause you the protag are strong enough to control 2 pokemon instead of 1, while the opponents need to control 1 each.
Not really, the closest canon explanation why we can only use 6 Pokemon is explained in the anime, that somehow after 6 Pokemon in the party the captured Pokemon either teleports to your chosen professor, or gets locked as it all seems regulated by the Pokemon League commission or something.
@@zjzr08 I like OP's take on it. I think it's more thought-through than what Nintendo seemingly arbitrarily decided. In terms of IRL rather than in-universe canon, it probably had more to do with technological limitations of the time. There wasn't much they could do about it and I imagine they didn't see it as that important of a detail to have a canonical reason to exist, so they just threw something out there. But if we're looking to create a more logical canon, I think we should consider OP's reasoning!
@zjzr08 ball teleportation doesnt exist yet and the pokemon league doesnt exist. Plus why would you put regulations on the pokeball you make? Pokeballs are a recent invention and most people are afraid to be near pokemon.
@@Kiss_My_Aspergers I agree for the Legends Arceus time period they may not have the technology for regulations but did LA said trainers just prefer 6 at most, like it will probably better to just keep it vague.
@@zjzr08 except the champion in gen 5 alder walks around with way more then 6 pokemon on him the anime thing is about people who sign up with PC's, they automatically get sent to the of after you catch 6, as by this point the league has capped teams at six, to stop people like alder (I think that's his name, the redhead champion) from just destroying everyone else with 30 pokemon.
I really liked arceus, although I agree with a lot of your criticisms. The one thing I disagree on is the color scheme and landmarks, I think that's very personal preference. I love the muted tones, and the construction of the world feels very well made to be natural and unexplored, reminds me of some places I;ve hiked before actually.
For me it is the monster capturing aspect. I have fun, when a game has many cool creatures, I can capture and bond with. That and nothing else is why I love Pokemon and that is also the reason why it cannot suprise or disappoint me.
Fun fact: Pikachu had the same sprite pose since Pokémon platinum. Only thing different though then black and white and later is that in platinum pikachu’s mouth was open.
I love the mechanic of the pokedex as it was always my favorite part of the other games, I just wished there was more emphasis on the actual information gathering. Like I would’ve loved to be able to record whether pokemon are nocturnal, see which pokemon form in groups or are more solitary, or test what kind’ve food they react to by throwing things at them until they react instead of just being told automatically. Instead it’s just like “use this move 25 times” or “catch 30 of this species” which is still fun but gets a little repetitive.
Same! I hope they up the research you have to do, if they ever make another like this one or even going forward It'd be fun to have to figure out when their active, maybe you could even watch them pick up random materials nearby like the berries or rocks/minerals for ground and rock type and eat it, or even watch pokemon that are enemies chase each other There's tons of potential for future games here!
The lack of music really made me wish for voice acting in this game, especially in the beginning. I wasn't sure exactly why until you brought it up. That was my once complaint, because it just felt so empty and I couldn't figure out why. Also there are a few visual glitches during battles, but I enjoy it.
I love the new features so much, but man I wish the world was more dense and vibrant. I watched a friend of mine play it and it does look really fun to just run around and fight all kinds of pokemon.
Doesn‘t really look like fun, but it really is haha kind of similar to how fun monster hunter is, battling the same monster over and over again.. so the comparison with the mh franchise‘s approach (additctive gameplay) to my surprise is accurate..
Honestly, I remember seeing the trailer and muttering "it's gonna be bad". Now the game it out, people love it, I have hope and I am scared of having hope
Yall take this way too seriously. Just relax, not everything needs to be a 10/10 on every front to just be…fun. “Scared of having hope,” why? Its just a video game, sheesh. Lighten up a little.
@@kendra4932 honestly considering everything we’ve gotten after gen 5 I learned its really best to not have any hype when it comes to Pokemon. Games have been more enjoyable that way, but yeah this game is rly good despite its glaring flaws
There’s a lot that could be built on, expanded, fleshed out etc. But since it’s fun and different i’m happily buying it because I want more pokemon games like this. If it doesn’t sell well that won’t happen.
