Ive attempted to chain with the dex nav 2 times. I got a shiny pelliper on my 3rd chain and a shiny ralts on a chain of 28...Quite lucky.

Just some other things that is good to know when chaining if in case people are wondering. Your chain can also be broken if you don't encounter a dexnav pokemon that has been found so. So battle it no matter what it is, don't scare it away or walk away from it. Also you can edit your party like moving pokemon into different spots In your rotation and use items like ether/elixir without breaking your chain.

I started chaining after watching your streams. Unfortunately no luck yet!

You can do the DexNav search while hopping on the bike! Try to tap the search icon at the same rhythm the bike bounces, right when it touches the floor.

Your X/Y chaining tutorial helped me a lot (: I caught my first shinies in the grass, sooo many of them, even managed to give one to someone as a birthday gift xD I have 1 question though, is this a LOT easier than the X/Y chaining methods? like there won't be absolutely random chain removers after like 40 encounters? if it's easier, I wonder by how much, a little, a lot, or wut xD

okay... so basically, i just started, but this is pretty impossible at the start? I want a shiny Ralts to start my journey with... (sort off, ive got all eeveevolutions with me and in the box with 5 perfect IVs each (took a hella long time to get those even in pkmn X which is said to have it easy lol :P ) But when I encounter a lvl 13 ralts with my lvl 8 pokemon, they use teleport and then i cant find a new one. does that mean i broke my chain? Also how in the world do you know your chain count? its listed nowhere, do you simply count in your head? And what if you catch a pokemon you chain? will that break the chain? and you said non-dexnav... but while searching for my ralts, i have come across dexnav/sneak zigzagoon, poochyena etc. does that also mean my chain was broken? As I understand it wont? And I also understand that saving and closing the game stops the chain?

It's funny how, back in Emerald, I encountered three Shiny Tentacool (_too much water_), but in the remake and with the Shiny Charm I haven't encountered any shiny Pokémon so far.

I've made a chain of 100 twice for Munna and Buneary but after that it brakes. So can the chaining process not go higher than 100?

If I have a Pokemon in the dexnav of 999 could I still be able to find a shiny 1?

just a note : seeing/catching a shiny will break your chain, but that's not to say the next few you see may not be a shiny (still has the 1:1000 or whatever odds of being a shiny) so you may get lucky. also saving your game will break your chain too. Chain fishing for shiny's you can run from the wild pokemon but dex nav chaining you must ko the pokemon. I have 40+ shinies and counting :)

Umm. what happens if u cant even get the pokemon u want to show up on the dex nav, and it keeps giving u different pokemon? Example. I want Pikachu. I find one using dexnav, then I use the bike trick and find a wingull. Then I use the dexnav again, and it still doesn't show Pikachu nearby. Is this good or bad?

Do you have the shiny charm?

So is it harder to get a shiny in the mirage islands? Im on a chain about 375 for a shiny rufflet and i do have a shiny charm...but its a no go for me so far. I chained a shiny larvesta no problem its just...this is taking forever. Im almost at 400.

is there a way to make the problem with sometimes not finding the Pokémon and pressing the button over and over again. it's annoying

I got a shiny ralts at a chain of exactly 100 and unfortunitly it was a female so i was unable to get my shiny gallade but its all good. U can also switch your pokemon around and revive/ heal pokemon without breaking your chain. This is pretty obvious but shutting your 3ds or 2ds will break your chain. Hipe this helps

Another way to keep your chain is if you keep the part where it says "It couldn't be found nearby. Try again in a differnt spot!" in a minute you will be able to find it again :) Hope this helped I play Alpha Sapphire my self.

In mt. pyre The ghost pokemon willl run before I get to them using the sneak/dex nav... SO WHY... Even if i break the chain, they still RUN... i HAVE TRIED SO MANY TIMES.. WHY are they not letting me sneak up onhtem.. the only thing i found is chaining makes them run from sneak ... I went to mt. prye but the RUN or dissapear!!! sneaking doesn't work. HELP SOMEONE.

I broke a 50 level chain of Sewaddle earlier. Finger slipped and I ran into it and made it run away. But I soft reset for a shiny raikou after that and I got it in like 2 hours. So that kinda makes up for it.

You've probably heard this a million times on this nine year old video, but you can actually leave the area you're chaining in. You just have to be careful not to leave right as a pokemon shows up. You can also save and turn off your 3ds and you'll be fine.
