Pokemon Shield Review for Cynics 

Really high quality editing along with high quality rant and arguments! I knew I'd skip this one as soon as I saw the dynamax rubbish.

The sad thing is that ultra sun and moon proved fans would buy the same game twice. Mark my words that there will be an ultra sw/sh that will touch on these numerous problems now that they have the extra time in development. The reason sw/sh is so low quality by comparison to other previous titles is the pokemon company itself. They cant delay shipping all their cards and plush toys because the fans think the games shouldnt be low effort. I was surprised to see just how few people work at game freak compared to ubi. Montreal. Game freak absolutely can, should, and indeed must grow to meet these development deadlines better, or else the next gen after sw/sh will be just as poor.

It's not a howl, it's an electric guitar wailing. It's a throwback to the Slumbering Weald. Although I'm pretty sure I already mentioned that to you in DMs lol. The game is cleverly using leitmotif to reference the initial encounter with the legendary wolves. I think it would have been obnoxious as you said if it persisted throughout the entire song, but it was just the A-section and then it went away for the satisfying triumphant chorus. Gud vid overall.

And its due to stuff like this, I want another Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, it has its own issues for it being a dungeon crawler, but atleast it stays fun for awhile with alot of weird changes

22:00. I feel like an item restriction would suffice for a better challenge at gyms. Like, you're only allowed to carry X number of items allowing for strategies on item management.

I love every gen of pokemon, I'm a person where if you were to put any pokemon game from the main series in front of me I will have a good time. Although I really enjoyed Sword and Shield does not mean I don't have any backlash towards it. SWSH did a lot of things I liked, the characters were amazing in this game. I think despite the hate the Hop is a good character and he goes an arc that has never done before in Pokemon. I also like the sense of reality when it comes to the gym challenge, unlike other gens it felt like I was a known trainer and that I actually might have a chance of becoming the champion with many fans supporting me. However the games were lacking in discovery, quality and tech, however I think the tech aspect was just the pokemon team not being used to such high quality tech after working on handhelds most of their career. Although I enjoy the pokemon games I have seen a decline in quality sense gen 6 started. The games shine in some aspects but fall flat in others, unlike gens 1-5 whitch do have problems but not as severe as Gens 6-8. Personally I feel that the direction pokemon should go in should a way like that of the xenoblade chronicles franchise. I don't want a game as open as botw to the point where the story ends up being lacking, because I really enjoyed the awesome stories in gens 5 and 7. I also want the world to be open, so doing something like monolithsoft would be a good idea. You could have several open areas that consist of several towns, landmarks and areas to explore and pokemon and trainers to catch and battle with. A truly open world pokemon game would be awesome, but would take away too much of stuff that people love. So have a pokemon game where the worlds are vast but the story while maybe not being as grand as gens 5 and 7, be better then what we have gotten before. That's just the way I would want to go, I think it would be a nice way to give everyone what they want.

I reckon the next Pokemon game should go down the same route the Legend of Zelda series did; a fully open map with meaningful exploration and new non-gimmicky features. Let the player's curiosity and intrigue guide them to discover things without limits (aside from certain areas having Pokemon that are too strong for you to deal with until you're higher levelled). If they just gave us "Breath of the Wild: but Pokemon" my wallet would instantly start sweating. Lol

The reason for all this is because of how cheap they decided to make the game so they can make the most money off from the least effort.

Just wondering. If Pokemon is your favorite franchise, why do you barely have videos on it?

I think this video is unnecessarily long, just say you hate this game and that's funny enough.

I've stopped watching at 13:26, "Pokemon SwoSh isn't really a flawed game". Just. Just watch a few of SwoSh's casual softlock examples around the net. You really don't want to have your Storage Box full by the end of the story campaign, trust me.

I love the effort you put into this review, i hope it gets the attention it deserves, if i had any criticism, id say maybe break this up into 2 parts next time if its going to be very long, not many people want commit to a video that long for a channel that is most likely known for posting short animations.
