@@HadirUntukAnda That's your opinion, and you're entitled to it, and I'm glad you can have an opinion. However most people would disagree with you on that.
Some Dude not sub and moon, that was very innovative factually speaking. The only negative being the constant cutscenes, but it’s consider to be the second best story next to gen 5 so who cares. But year USUM, let’s go, and these new ones are MASSIVLELY disappointing
Honestly I agree we thought we would get brand new graphics but we just got disappointed. It feels half baked but I’m still buying it because it will be my first real Pokemon game🙂
But that's the thing isn't it? Corners DIDN'T need to cut It is baffling how this is a 60 dollar game and they are treating this with the same production value as a 3DS game Its obvious corners should have never been cut in the first place, so PokeCompany and Nintendo was way too greedy to shove out a half baked disappointment not worth that 60 dollar price tag.
Ben Link Idk about you but i’m finding it fun, definitely worth my money, and isn’t that what matters in the end? Whether the game is fun or not? And this game is very enjoyable, sure there are drawbacks and a few issues with online to begin with, but overall this isn’t a bad game, it’s well crafted, stop being so negative. It ain’t half baked.
@@teamkillerjoker1565 it is most definitely half baked. They ripped the models and animations right from sun and moon as well as some animations for NPCs. Even though they said the reason we're not getting all the pokemon is that they were spending time on the animations. It's basically still 3DS quality especially next to other Nintendo franchises on the Switch. So yeah if you enjoy it then that's great dude, but it's the definition of half baked imo Note: there's a difference between unfinished and half baked
Can you imagine being immersed in a world like breath of the wild and encountering pokemon? That should would end careers and relationships, people would sell their children to play it.
Only been waiting for a complete open world Pokémon game with great graphics for the last 20years.... lol Ever since the shows and early games, I always wanted full freedom to dictate how I wanted my Pokémon journey to go. Add in online “tournaments” (based on level/rank) and it be amazing. I’d buy any new system for that
Confused how people think BoTW is some mind blowing experience and a breathtaking world. Compared to other AAA open-world sandbox games, it's emptier than The Glowing Sea on Fallout 4. I enjoyed the game, but I do not understand how it is some new standard when it literally does nothing to push the genre and literally soars below games in that same genre. It's a fun game, but really, with such an empty world, how is it some new standard?
This is probably why I returned the game after I finished it. BOTW was my first game on the Switch....but since the reason I have the console is Pokémon, man was I letdown.
Ryan W pokemmo on the pc is your answer lmao. anyone besides game freak who has tried to make a fan made game has done way better. 4 regions, 5 gens if pokémon
This was in Pokemon SuMo and USUM too. In DS the NPCs were always there and never ghost you, then reappear when you come to them. I used WALK THROUGH WALLS cheat and noticed how firm the game in Pokemon Black& White is and better than now.
@@Mister_Soyuz_on_YT Yeah, but as a Switch game, this is supposed to be a step up from SuMo and USUM. I certainly don't remember anything like that in any other Switch game I've watched footage of.

Yeah, fire emblem is not "fully" voice but almost everything is and at least everything from the main story, i would have liked it if they would at least voice the story dialogue and the in battle trash talk, it would have added a new layer that we have never experienced in pokemon
@@Gumbrases Pokemon is literally the biggest media franchise of all time. Bigger than Mickey Mouse, bigger than Star Wars, look it up. There is no fucking way anything is "too expensive" for them. I don't believe that there is any other reason besides laziness, incompetence or pressure from Nintendo and a rushed product as consequence.
If they couldn't be bothered to transfer the rest of the Gen 1 models from Let's Go, they sure as hell aren't going to bother with _voice-acting_ of any kind
@@UncoloredPageGaming that doesnt matter, gamefreal can just pay people to do the voice acting but they dont want to spend the extra money so that statement makes no sense
Jorge Rivas some have compared the graphical quality of the trees in this game to those of ocarina of time. It’s harsh, and a big exaggeration, but there’s some truth in it. The textures on the bark and the polygons of the roots are embarrassing
i never knew trees was the main attraction in this game. wow it looks so bad! what a shocker! you could choose to be mad about the limited map design, the animations, everything else, but trees?
I feel like a guy like me, who's played pokemon casually here and there throughout the years, can appreciate this game and not be too bothered. By the sounds of it, I think big pokemon fans who've played every game ever since are ending up disappointed by the expectations they set up for it.
It (was) 2019, we should have higher expectations for what games provide. They should always be pushing boundaries from what they were to what they *could* be. That's how things improve. People rip on CoD being "the same thing" repeatedly, while Pokemon isn't even as good as the previous product since gen 5
Same Ive only played the first 3 religiously then just very casual after. I never heard any hype for this game and honestly didn't really pay attention to it. To me it's just a solid pokemon game nothing more or less some cool mechanics. I wish there was more pokemon and maybe a little cheaper 90$ is very steep to me, I think 59.99 would be fair. Not 79.99.
yeah. the animations really are trash. The bottom line right now though is you kind of have to choose if you would rather ignore some of the short comings or not play pokemon at all. there is still a lot of fun to be had with this game.
Its sad cause Thwacky itself has a stick swing animation in the camping feature when it hits the feather toy....why they didn't apply that to its own battle animation is beyond me smh
theheebs100 I mean they’re trash if you were anticipating better animations from a home console Pokémon game (which is completely valid), but I’m pretty sure most of the animations are the exact same ones as the 3DS games but very slightly improved.
Every other major Nintendo franchise has made huge innovations when transitioning to the switch (BOTW, Odyssey, ACNH, Luigis Mansion, etc). Why can’t Pokémon do the same?
Because gamefreak stuck with the handheld market too long and never learned how to properly develop for a console. They should’ve made a main series Pokémon game for GameCube years ago but no they kept sticking with their stupid pocket monster argument instead of learning how to develop for powerful hardware.
Not just Nintendo. Look at games like Monster Hunter too... They went from handheld games to home console and overhauled everything, introduced voice acting for the first time in the series and put tons of effort to make sure the games match console standards. They even revolutionized the environments and made things feel like a real ecosystem. And that's exactly what's wrong with these games. They moved to home console without doing anything much to take advantage of it or meet the standards. The stories are still short, handholding and linear and the graphics mediocre at best. The wild areas are a step up but for the most part they're just big empty areas with not much to see. Not to mention the models and animations they copy pasted from the 3DS games. All this makes it feel more like a glorified 3DS games than actual home console games.
Yea I really wish that there was even a little bit of voice acting included, like from the professor or gym leaders... Sigh... it would have made the battles a lot more interesting
I have to agree. The hype ruined it, like it ruined everything else. I have it and to be honest I'm having the time of my life playing this, even taking things slowly to enjoy it more, and honestly it isn't a bad game. Sure, it definitely didn't meet expectations. It's a GREAT pokemon game, but it's not on switch era level. People were expecting Pokemon: breath of the wild and that's what ruined it. I will keep loving this game like I am rn, but hopefully one day there will be a better switch pokemon game, just like black and white came after diamond and pearl, and those were GREAT improvements in the graphics department. Well I'm just waiting for diamond and pearl remakes anyways haha
Yeah, last year they and Nintendo were saying this was the game that the hardcore fans have been waiting for but it’s clearly a 3DS Pokémon ported to switch with a slightly larger scale
You're also forgetting that they made promises they couldn't keep and look what happened as a result. People are starting to lose their respect for GameFreak as a result. Granted The Pokemon Company is playing a huge role here too, but even so this is not good for the first Gen 8 and console game going forward. Now you got people worrying about the Diamond and Pearl remakes.
It would be great if a company other than GameFreak made the games indeed.. I feel like the only reason the games aren't good is cause GF refuses to put much effort into them.
TheFancyUmbreon This is clearly aimed at old fans, from things that everyone wanted like skippable tutorials cutscenes ext. The whole game is much more traditional with every aspect, as an old fan i am very impressed
Mehmet Sarikaya Maybe they thought that old time fans would find new favourites and understand that it’s kinda boring to run the same mons every new game, plus they gotta think about more than just one area of play, the competitive scene would be boring and the same mega team over and over again, just like last gen. They did this for balance as well
K P That was clearly just a few examples, you really wanna find every reason to shit on this good game because it doesn’t include your favourite pokemon? Stop acting so entitled
K P Lol it isn’t dirty, it’s common sense, they have been on the issue much longer than you and came to this conclusion, what makes you think you know game design more than them, plus if you did know anything about this game, you would know that gigantamax pokemon are no stronger than dynamax pokemon and you would he able to dynamax megas, i honestly didn’t like megas because it made the main game so easy, with little intelligence you could wipe the whole game with a simple mega and some coverage moves, plus you could do it every single fight, making the normal pokemon irrelevant and the mega the new final evolution. So no adding megas wouldn’t have saved anything, just make the game boring again. They haven’t done it to piss about with you or in spite, they did it for balance.
Mehmet Sarikaya Why would they go back to and old gimmick again? it will still end up with exactly the same just with different mons in the same role, this new feature is much more refreshing and gives way to teams which couldn’t really make an impact in mega evo comps, like rain. You haven’t even played the game, so you can’t really comment on whether it is good or not.
I agree with most people it just feels watered down. Seeing how its the first pokemon game in a while for console they shouldve gone all out. They just did the basic not even the basic.
Personally, I don't want to have to run around collecting 900+ creatures and I don't care about transferring past pokemon after I beat the game. I'd prefer training up the new ones. I'm glad they set some sort of limit and drew a line somewhere!
@@Caffeinated_Warrior just because you don't want to do something doesn't mean others feel the same way. Why not include more and if you want to play with only new Pokes then fine, that's on you, but instead you're saying nobody should be able to play the other way because you don't find it fun.
@jose ramiro reynoso ruiz What if I wanted to catch the ones that wouldn't be included instead of the ones that would be included? A big pool of mons doesn't just increase the number of stuff to get, it lets more people have fun.
Nice 3DS game. I wish you would've mentioned that for 90% of the game you will only be using the left thumbstick because there is only 1 area in the game where you can actually move your camera around 360.

Yes, I have heard it is very similar of not the same with a few minor upgrades such as free camera control. It just seems different because of new hardware. It just looks so similar.
Bacon Management lmao no, the engine, if the same would have to be heavily altered to work with the new system, it would be much easier to make a new engine for it. I highly doubt gamefreak would go and use that much effort, also after playing on the game, i have seen no performance issues whatsoever, the only problems with the game that i have are the online can be pretty buggy sometimes.
I'm playing through the game with my daughter. I'd loved for it to be voiced as I'm currently having to do all the dialogue myself. Different voices and all.

Less pokemon was *bound* to happen, with about 800 different pokemon, that's strictly *data.* Other game devs agree that this Dex cut needed to happen. This game, by itself takes up about 10 gigabytes(I believe) of data, that's with every move, npc, model, and pokemon within that. Just stay in the Wild Area... thats basically the only good amount of content your going to get. Ive already beaten the game... in like 23 hours. Thats pathetically short this game is if you just ignore most of the wild area
Right I was kind of kind of shocked he brought that up I think he was just trying to fill time he did say this one was just first impression probably to busy playing the new starwars game
@Trevor Boyle i can't tell if your joking or not but it's pretty pointless to add voice acting the story telling is awful in pokemon it be a waste of everyone's time plus to do it they would have to cut more pokemon game freak doesn't know how to program correctly
