Nintendo knows exactly what they are doing. Only 17% of the revenue comes from selling Pokemon games. The rest comes from merchandise and television/movies/advertisements/licensing, stuff you can sell more and monetize more effectively. It's a wise business decision, especially considering Pokemon is the biggest selling franchise of all time.
The last few Pokemon games have been shit yet 1: people and children still get them and 2: people are always going to buy Pokemon TCG and merch. It's pretty much too big to fai, scarlet and violet has been toted as one of the worst games yet it hasn't impacted sales whatsoever@@ricksanchez8584
We're at the point where disgruntled Pokemon fans have had the opportunity to go through college, learn to program, and make the Pokemon game they wanted before Gamefreak did.
@@junkarunken *I am a Pokemon fan, I have played every Pokemon game that has been released and I hate Nintendo because their game upgrades in every new release is snail paced. I am actually happy that this game is getting popularity. You are wrong if you think all Pokemon fans are like that*
@@GM_Joseph They are just toxic people in general, they whine about everything. If you have any friend who is a Pokemon fan, ask him, I am sure he will tell that he doesn't like how Nintendo is making the new games. The pals are modaled after Pokemon that's obvious but there is no way of Nintendo wining after suing them, because the Pokemon designs somewhat resumbles real life creatures and you can't patent a real life creature.
No joke, this game is actually pretty fun. Its very clearly still a work in progress, and theres definitely room for improvement, but the content currently in the game is quite fun. If anyone does find this comment, id reccomend to give this game a try. Performance might vary, and crashes will happen, however you wont lose any progress due to the saving system (in my experience.)
I’m delighted to hear that. And from what I’ve seen Charlie play, this game looks very very fun admittedly and I’m looking forward to trying it out for myself
exactly its like people don't realize that you mostly pay for the "brand" and maybe kind of higher quality assurance filter for those shoes @@305backup
Palworld honestly has no right being as fun and well polished as it is. They blew it out of the water. I haven't been interested in any survival game for about 4 or 5 years, love tf out of this. I played for NINE HOURS with my roommate and didn't experience any of the glitches you guys did. It's like Elden Ring, Pokemon, Ark, BOTW and then some.
Some of you guys have a sadly low bar for game and sure like to compare stuff to games you obviously haven't even played, lmao. Do tell, what part of this is like Elden Ring?
You guys know when someone lists multiple games in similarity, they usually just mean maybe one aspect from it is like that game. Chill out. ItS NoThInG LiKe eLdEn RiNg. Clearly there was a reason they said it.
For anyone wondering. This game works great on deck. Turn the settings down slightly and you get constant 45+ fps. My only problem with it is you can't limit the frame rate between 30 and 60 fps. It would be smoother if you could limit the fps to 50 to match the deck
@@CadetSammonsbeing they sold so many copies in one day i think that decided it for them lol. This game is insanely huge and such an amazing idea. People have wanted an open world survival pokemon game for ages bbut this even goes past that by allowing you to do things like catch humans, cook the pals "hate that name" and so much more its wild and what pokemon would be if it were in the real world.
I love that everyone had the same reaction when it was like the ark and souls customization for the characters. I got a big smile on my face. 😂Couldn’t get a lobby with the squad to work though so I didn’t play
You have to authorize Palworld on your Firewall for the PC to get multiplayer to work between friends. It's doesn't tell you but it worked for my friend and I when we tried.
If you or one of your friends knows how to forward ports on their router, forward ports TCP: 27015 and UDP: 27031. That's what I did and it fixed the multiplayer hosting issue.
Nintendo actually did C&D this at one point, because it started as a Pokemon fan game where you played as a Team Rocket grunt that would kill the Pokemon and poach them. It then turned into this. And it's literally just legally distinct enough to keep them from being sued.
Despite the shitpost-like trailer this is actually a pretty good game. I think its worst issue is that the graphics look too "realistic" for cutesy Pokemon-like designs, so they look like birthday party balloons or something.
@@pete7354will never happen, youre aware there is many pokemon clone on steam and they are doing fine? Nintendo has no right on anything in this game.
@@pete7354Nintendo isn't able to do sh*t mate, think they own the IP on monster games? Or devices to store things in? Ark did cryopods, basically the same thing. Had they actually used Pokemon, then Nintendo could, but they didn't so can't.
@@darklord-uz1rmHave you seen. Monster hunter rise on the switch? Compare it's performance with pokemon scarlet and violet... oh and monster hunter also came from a long streak of games on the 3DS just like pokemon did. Nintendo transformed pokemon into an annual cheap cashgrab that crunches their employees to the limit.
@@darklord-uz1rm you realize that most recent Xenoblade 3 has more stuff in it that Pokemon S/V and still runs WAY better than S/V on the same console right? for once, this isn't an issue of the console tech being inferior. its the company management that's inferior.
@@roguenoise2718 even in early access it's pretty good. It does feel like it'll become something similar to Genshin Impact though where it makes money but is still in development for years
Don’t lie, it’s gonna be dead in a month just like any game labeled a “--- killer”. It’s also on game pass so you know, the whole game pass curse thing
@@stazzy5858It really isn't, or from what I can see it looks so bland and easy to do everything it's hardly a "survival" it would get so boring so quick Ark survival could have you sink countless hours into it
They won't. The studio has a track record. They've had multiple "success stories" that have basically gone no where. Craftopia has been in maintenance mode for years. No matter how much people like to cope about it. I remember they literally removed half of Craftopia and then slowly added it back due to how jank their code is. Their games are overhyped messes with a terrible foundation due to an abundance of bought assets
@@TNTspaz Craftopia isn't in maintence mode. They literally just added a massive world overhaul update around 6 months ago and have been adding biomes and big updates periodically since. That isn't what a "maintence mode" would do. That said, yeah, they aren't finishing it. But that game seemed like a trial run for this game. Since they just adopted a lot of what was in Craftopia and evolved it.
@@maizeman90 Honestly though. Can you even "Finish" games like these? I feel sometimes you just wake up with a cool idea you can implement. Like Mods don't stop coming in especially the mods that utillizes the base game and expand upon it.
Best survival game I've played so far. Has everything I've wanted in a survival game and more. Just needs a more fleshed out story and side quests as well as hub settlements. Wanting this to be more RPG
@@zacziggarotQuests, dialogue, massive NPC cities, small towns and villages, NPC followers. Play a tabletop RPG to learn the actual definition of roleplaying game lmao Palworld is an aRPG: they are not the same
combat could use a little work too, they cut many corners by making every pal fight the same just with a different color particle effect, some telegraphs are completely missing for some pals too which makes some encounters very frustrating on hard mode, the AIs are easy to abuse too, even the tower bosses you can get them stuck for a free kill but that's all fixable and the foundation is very solid, looking forward to see where this goes big city hubs would work against the lore though so doubt we'd see it, but i'd love to see more intractability with the smaller settlements like quests/requests, maybe even a favor/fame system to unlock some special features of some settlements, or even a karma system with bad/good settlements with different benefits, karma would fit very well with how you can choose to abuse/exploit the pals or work with them, there's basically always a bad/good solution to every problem the devs did express they're interested in adding mod support so even if they don't add what you want you might see it as a mod one day
With hints? The tower system is exactly the same as in breath of the wild. The stamina system is the exact same as in breath of the wild. The game is at least 25% breath of the wild 😭
@@thegoldenraysoftheglorious1180 dude, the entire game is built off of BOTW. stamina, climbing, graphics honestly, map sparsity, its literally designed exactly like BOTW with ark elements and pokemon elements. honestly its closer to 50% botw
@@xaf0163 the graphics are almost nothing like botw. By this point you are just nitpicking. The only thing like botw in this is the stamina. Tbh I will not continue with this bickering because it is quite useless even as a botw fanboy myself. I hope you grow to enjoy the game or continue to hate it for nitpicks.
Incredibly stupid take. There is absolutely no comparison between pokemon designs and palworld's monster designs, ignoring the pretty blatant copying many of worlds monsters have. Not specifically directed at you but christ almost every take on this game is so fucking braindead. Pokemon isn't about beating animals in to submission and putting them to work, this is not the world that series has ever wanted to portray. No one actually wants to see pikachu disemboweled, that is not going to be the big seller so many people who have cried for a "darker" pokemon think it will be. Also literally anyone who thinks nintendo is somehow in financial trouble with pokemon is absolutely stupid. You can not like the recent games, thats fine, don't ignore the insane sales numbers they've produced and that pokemon is still the most profitable franchise in the history of the damn earth. Palworld IS a fun game, its Ark without all the jank and I'm having a great time with it but fucks sake it'd be nice to see anything about the game without meaningless shitting on pokemon. If all you can ever do is compare the game to something else then it's never going to amount to anything in the end.
Now that I've read your comment I'm really surprised that Digimon didn't make something akin to this first. It's all there in the lore to make a very similar game.
@@Wintercide it looks like what the world games were TRYING to do. Next order has the collection of materials to improve buildings aspect. You just populate a city instead of growing an army. This has the gameplay, crafting and even the thrall system of Conan Exiles
They legally can’t do anything because it’s not infringing on their copyright, all the designs are different and the game does not have word “poke” anywhere in the game
You all have good points, never the less, nintendo has an army of lawyers that's to be feared. even if the lawsuit is unjust. And, with their lawyer powers, they could find some obscure law or precedent that may justify them suing over having similar styles. I hope there is no such law or precedent, if so, I'd be sad.
Pocketpair made a similar game called craftopia and it is LITERALLY all of the same mechanics (but with one or two new things) and some polish, I havent played a game in months and this has absolutely been worth it while I wait for silksong
I’ve tried several survival games but this is the only one that has every gotten me hooked. I played for 12 hrs straight yesterday, even had my kids playing with me taking turns. It was honestly a lot if fun! A few glitches here and there but ive never lost any progress! Give it a try to anyone reading this!!!
The veneer of pokemon/zelda wears off once you see that it has 0 story and is riding on ARK gameplay concepts (engram unlocks, food expires, the towers are dummy strong even though the tutorial basically funnels you towards them, etc)
Best slave sim I've played in a long time. I so far am enjoying this fantastic game. It's basically what we all know is going on in the world of Pokemon that no one wants to talk about.. but if you read the Pokedex descriptions you know is happening. 😂🤣
The only thing that I didn’t like about the stream, is that Charlie just joined a different game without even learning the basics. He was also way behind on a already developed world, instead of just building upon his own. I just wish they all mutely started a new multiplayer game so everyone started from scratch.
Super underrated game. Outshined by palwolrd and that suck. It’s like an upgraded Valheim. So much potential. Combat does need work those. Controls are kinda clunky and combat feels a bit empty but I think it can be improved.
